Shots of the Pre show YouTube app and iPhone comparison
With the hopeful launch of the Palm Pre almost imminent now, there is an increasing amount of pictures being taken in the wild. The latest batch shows off a YouTube and email application running on the device. There is also another snapshot that compares it against the iPhone. The two giants will probably enter a battle to see who will reign supreme among the cream of the crop this summer. Now the only thing left needed is just a specific  street release date and info on pricing. Hopefully there will be more information to come in the near future!

-I Get you guy's point, but the thing is, Palm's goal was to come with an advance device that not only easy to use and very functional. According reviews, a good majority of people who had a Iphone wished they had an actual keyboard.

The design is ugly. I am a BB homer but that WebOS idea seems really interesting. I would like to see BB make something revolutionary in a OS soon (know it won't be 5.0) There are a couple real competitors out there now and the push e-mail won't be enough eventually.

I love my BB, but that is besides the point. Palm Pre looks really ugly the design, and i never liked Palm OS. Again that is just me.

I have an iphone and I agree with you guys on the design. But other than the design, I actually think this phone will do pretty well. But the only thing I think it might fail at is the batter life. Right now they are advertising the multi-tasking interface but I think that the battery on that phone will be really suckish. And the phone will also have trouble with 3D graphics because almost everything is based on web intergration. To me it just depends on what you want. I probably would never get the pre because I don't really use all those social networking things like twitter and facebook. I also only use one email address for everything so I don't need all that calendar integration and stuff. But I think that many other people might want to use these features so they'll buy it.

I think the Iphones gonna beat this phone hands down.

the iphone beats almost every phone hands down. it was such a revolutionary device that everyone is still playing catch up.

A YouTube app is nice but a Hulu app would be the $hit!

phonedog.com got information that they are working on a hulu app for the iPhone that will come out in a few months. I'm very excited.

I like this design. It's a very stylish phone. The Pre will do very well once it comes out. The iPhone is SO old news. Its to the point of who cares anymore. The iphone still has issues like all phones. No phone is perfect. I don't think there is such a device as the "best" phone out there. This will have it's short comings, the iphone has it's short comings and BB's have short comings. This is good for Sprint, the HTC Touch Pro 2 on Sprint will do pretty good as well. VZW & Sprint are getting the Niagara (or whatever they will call it) also and that will do well for both. I do believe smart phones be the majority of phones in use within the next few years.

Who says the iPhone is so old news. Maybe it's old to you because you're getting tired of always hearing about it but the buzz on the iPhone hasn't really gone down that much since the iPhone 3G release. I bet that At&t/iPhone articles are the most viewed and commented on this site.

22. E.N. posted on 24 Apr 2009, 20:04

Scratch that. I meant one of the most viewed (if not the most)

23. PL007 posted on 25 Apr 2009, 10:19

Tired of hearing about the iPhone? Personally seeing articles on the iPhone, hearing about it or whatever doesn't bother me. I just noticed that there is a new iPhone supposed to come out in June and is there any real buzz on it? It's just funny IMO how AT&T would not even release numerous news & updates on a new iPhone so current iPhone owners would jump at the chance to buy the new iPhone.

love webos. could do without the slide out keypad. have we learned nothing from the G1. no one wants to slide out a keypad every time you need to make a short entry.

11. SellPhones82 posted on 24 Apr 2009, 09:43

I'm with you on the need to use the slide out for short entries. Hopefully (like Android 1.5) they will add the option of a virual keyboard shortly after the launch.

15. phone333 posted on 24 Apr 2009, 13:02

You'd be surprised how many people would prefer a "Real" keyboard as opposed to a virtual one. But like you said, I'm sure they'll be apps you can download to make that happen and at that point you'll have the best of both world.
