Sharp unveils the first cellphone with VGA display - 904SH

Vodafone K.K. has unveiled the first mobile phone to feature a VGA (480 x 640 pixels) LCD display that improves four times the resolution offered by the current QVGA - 904SH from Sharp. The tri-band GSM/WCDMA device with clamshell form factor is expected to be commercially available in April this year. The main features are as follows:

  • 2.4-inch VGA 262k color main display
  • Monochrome sub-display
  • a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with 2x optical zoom and facial recognition feature
  • 20MB internal memory
  • miniSD memory expansion slot
  • Bluetooth/USB/IrDA connectivitry
  • 3D motion control sensor
  • stereo speakers with 3D surround sound suppor
