why would you compare an out of date single core 3g device to these next gen 4g dual core larger displayed superphones with a better os (personal opinion) on them??
the comparison would read that it loses in every way camera cpu screen size (not sure about resolution) and speed if that helps any

correction half of them are dual core but still capable of fast data speeds

alright lets try a non distracted answer ( ya I know)
the i phone 4 while a decent device simply isnt in the same league
smaller screen
no 4g speeds
ios (personal opinion not as good as android)
and a single core cpu

while the iphone 4 is decent its way outclassed here

Thats sooo BIAS!!!
Phone Arena, you never mentioned the Sensations Contour Screen which is also seen in the Nexus S and makes it look and feel alot better, and of course the Galaxy SII is lighter, the Sensation packs a wonderful Aluminium Unibody compared to the Galaxy's shit plastic, and the Camera isn't Tap to Focus, its got Instant Focus, and Sammy might have Super Amoled Plus but the Sensation has QHD which gives it a big bonus, joined along with the impenetrable Gorilla Glass screen , but on both the Sammy and the Sensation, at least you mentioned that the Sense UI is alot better than the Touchwiz, but I would say the Galaxy SII advantages over the Sensation for its Super Amoled Plus and thinner and lighter body and more RAM, but the Sensation topples Sammy with its Contour Display, qHD screen, and Aluminium unibody, I guess for the Processors, we will just have to wait for Official Benchmarks to see which is faster, and I know Sammy packs great GPU's but the HTC's new Adreno 220 is said to be one of the most powerful out right now and known to be better than the Tegra 2, but Sammy's processors definitely aren't the Best as the Hummingbird in the Galaxy S was far inferior than the EVO, and once those Processors get benchmarked we will have our Final Winner

They didn't say that Sense UI is alot better than TW! Infact I read it the other way round... "HTC takes pride in its FLASHY Sense UI... To support its memory-hungry muscle, HTC has included 768MB of RAM"

That is less RAM for a RAM hungry UI than the SGSII's TW UI to which they say

"Samsung's TouchWiz UI is much less demanding, but you don't get that many SNAZZY effects, but rather a clean down-to-business interface."

So a Flashy, snazzy and memory-hungry UI vs. less demanding, clean down-to-business UI... how did you read that as alot better!?

And I know which one I prefer! I'd pick TW over Sense any day! I hate the whole bottom on the Sense homescreen. 1 big button saying phone and one that does the same as longpressing screen. And TW can turn on/off wifi, bluetooth, GPS, sound and rotation in the notification bar. All that said UI doesn't matter that much as you can always use a launcher ;-)

what bias? This was a spec sheet.. nothing more, nothing less.

1) ill take the shit plastic that makes it lightweight, so when i go running i dont notice the phone, unlike the heavy metal phone which would be bashing my leg over n over n over again.

2)itssuper amoled plus, which destroys QHD. The sensation's screen is sharp, but it cant beat the sharpness AND color clarity of SA2. In the end, its prefrence.

3) Sence VS Touchwiz is a preference thing. personally, i hate sence and can barely stand TW only because it doesnt get in your way as much as sense.

4) Benchmarks have been done. In order of weakest to strongest its.. Dualcore snapdragon (sensation), Tegra2 (GX2), OMAP (LG 3D), and Exynos (galaxyS 2).

5) i dont know where u get ur facts from but the Hummingbird processor DESTROYED the silly first gen snapdragon processor that is found in the Evo. The only test the snapdragon did anything in was in the linpack score which tests 1 small part of the processor. The hummingbird is the strongest single core processor in a phone. It not only powers the galaxyS it also powers the iphone4.

if your going to rant.. at least rant with correct facts. thanks. :)

Completely agree with everything you said except for 2. Super Amoled Plus is a display technology. Qhd is a display resolution. Just lettting you know.

don't EVER compare the HTC's processing capabilities to the SGS2. Have you seen the benchmarks for the two handsets? Do some research- then you'll aappreciate how much a beast the SGS2 is.

While the LG seems to be lagging, maybe they are willing to give up a little in the screen and processor department to score a little battery life? Also, "vanilla Android" may not be a draw back to some people, but a selling point. I think it will sell decently for T-Mobile, and I am not a huge LG product fan.

No doubt Samsung can throw it's stat sheet out for anyone to see and get it's device in the headlines. But, until they improve the updates to Touch-wiz interfaces, it is a tougher sell compared to other, stat-inferior products. This one is an update behind already coming out of the box.

a galaxyS a tough sell? Heck no. That mofo is still flying off the shelves.

Sammy has gotten better with updates. Yea, they were horrible, but at least now they are.... less horrible! :)

BTW, never buy a phone expecting an OS update. you buy it for what it is, not what might come out down the line.

Point taken. But, the idea behind paying the type of money these handsets are gonna ask is that you want as "future proof" of a device you can get. Updates are a selling point. Cannot see buying a dual core phone right now unless it means you get the goodies they will develop for them in the future.

well im going to give my unbiased opinion. I am preordering the g2x on friday morning because im with T-mobile and im tying to get out of my G1. i have been following dual core since this time last yr so im very aware of the detailed specs of these phones. SGS2 looks like a fantastic phone no doubt about it however UK launch is at $1152.00 and thats a little out of many customers budget if its anywhere close to the here in the states. The Atrix motoblur is its biggest downside and has had a few documented issues still great phone but would have done better without the overlay. In regards to the Sensation I saw a video yesterday on engadget on the Sense 3.0 and honestly i think it has more options then it really needs and for what Android is awesome and if you want to modify it there is many ways you can do it. out of all of these id have to say Samsung has it down but hurting when it comes down to the price.

One last thing Iphone ppl stop comparing the iphone to any of these devices the iphone at this point has obsolete hardware wait till your iphone 5 comes out to start making comparison till then stay out of these discussions unless you have something productive to say about the topic.

I Love The HTC Sense 3 Unlike The Touchwizz 4.0 !
Good Job HTC !

I am from Samsung Korea, specifically the factory for AMOLED. And we are in the prototype of the next screen for the super phone (not smart phone). This Super Phone will be a 3D capable phone sporting a 4.5 Ultra AMOLED. Ultra AMOLED is: a very thin flexible screen with 640x960 resolutions. It has a Light absorbing technology in which the more it is exposed to direct sunlight, the more it is very readable (Mirasol display?), and it has 900 nits of brightness but lesser battery consumption. The screen is still in prototype but it will surely be the BEST BEAST!

As far as I know LG Optimus 2X is the king of Quadrant right now. With stock ROM it can score up to 2800 points, with custon ROM up to 3300 points @ 1 GHz and 4400 points @ 1.5 GHz.

ok i have to say that i really didnt know what to buy before London HTC Convention(its was amazing there :))

Samy has probably best processor and display but i dont like theire version of OSs and it lacks any kind better sorts of materials,it looks cheap, plastic, its full of debris in no time and i actually dont think that uberthickness is ergonomic..
LG with tegra is quite nice but well...not that impressive in specs of feeling
on the other hand HTC Sensation, while not as powerful in hardware like others competitors and with only qHD(lol..only),is well built, made of impressive Al unibody and soft touch antibacterial plastic, phone has really good grip in hands, and i think new sense, while really memory hard, gives you one of the best looking experience in Android..

i personaly would rather have a 2 megapixel FFC in exchange for not having tap to focus. i have also seen Super amoled plus next to the qHD on the atrix and think the SA+ is much better. better contrast and looks better in direct sunlight. so i am leaning torward the SGS2. however, i LOVE HTC sense 3.0. TouchWiz 4.0 does look appealing though unlike previous versions. i think i will go with the SGS2. especially since it will be a 1.2 ghz dual-core processor instead of 1 ghz dual-core processor.

Your r correct about the S2 smashing all competitors on bench mark..by good measures actually..another thing that no one is mentioning.. The sensation only has 1gb of internal memory while the S2 AND S1 have 16gb.. Although they both are expandable to 32 gb, the internal memory is what software & other apps typically install to..there for, the sensation might start off nice & snappy but the S2 will show longevity because the more u fill any phones internal memory, the more it lags & slows down.. Sensation is nice but the s2 is simply a better phone..

Better processor, ram, & tho the sense has better res.. Amoled plus still looks better..thanx

Samsung Galaxy S2 is the s**tiest phone I ve ever come acrosss .
I simply feel like I ve paid 30k for a stupid s**t plastic toy.
As far as a hardware and benchmarks are concerned it might be doing well but (Whats the point putting so much power in it and still doing nothing with that UI except some s**t and some good tweaks)which actually doesnt reflect while using it. Like I mean come on every dual core processored android out there is definately smooth and it always feels nice to have something in hand that will make you feel that you have got wat u paid for.
But SGS 2 is not that thing.Freakin cheap plastic body , suckk all built quality , and practically speakin I dont find much use of that stupid Super Amoled + 's brightness(Although the sharpness and all is BEST) as I mostly use all my phones at home or when I am at a place where I can sit and enjoy it quietly.
Apart from that Bluetooth 3.0 n all is simply bulls**t point to classify phones on basis of because having an only phone with bluetooth 3.0 what the hell on earth do u think is it going to take you on a flyer or something ???
All these spec sheets and heavy numbers are utterly useless when it comes to everyday use. They are only goood enough for boasting about your phone .What ultimately matters is your use of phone.
-Is the given hardware of your phone enough for the regular usability of the phone
which may be gaming, social networking, etc etc according to personal needs.
-Does your phone practically suite your personal needs rather than just showing off
some crapppyyy no.s.
-The built quality of the phone matters too (At least matters to me.)
-I dont want to pay 30 grands just because it has a good screen and shows some
good no.s on the web all over which then might just be a few more than its
-How much variety of the provided functions of the phone and OS can u handle.(People end up buying 30k phones and will use it only for listening to music and makin calls and not even text.*STUPIDS*)
-Feel of the phone. Does your phone feel Rich in hands when u hold it ?My SGS 2 definately does not. It feels like some CHINA phone.Your phone should feel like you have paid enough to get a good product fitting your needs and has good built quality
. feels solid , feels rich , makes you fall in love with it the more you use it.
-What is the point of providing bloody 1gb ram if ur DUMB UI and OS does not even use 512 MB of it.(Company boasting their own phone)
Its been only a week since I have got the phone and have already got
bored feels like simply useless junk of piece occupying space in my drawer. In day - day routine my Moto Defy(Motoblur) also does all the daily routine things that SGS 2 might have done for me except for some high end games. But hey single core vs dual
core not a comparison so forget that part.
Gonna Buy Atrix and never ever Samsung again which is sells products on some fake basis .
