Looks like a crappy version of Android.

How could it be a crappy version of android? Symbian is way more advanced and stable than android is, always has been. If anything, android has elements of Symbian in it.

Not a big fan of nokia but i like the concept of symbian. It's not as polished on the software side as i'd like (imo)... i think thats why i never use their products. Not that their bad but just not for me.

I was somewhat surprised when I had read that all N series Nokias were going to be Meego cuz if a company already has massive market share with one name they shouldn't go try to build a new name and ditch the previously popular one. It takes a long time to build a reputation and name recognition. With that said, I think it will be difficult for Symbian to stop the exodus of users to the two hot players in the smart phone market. I think what Nokia needs to concentrate on is making Symbian 4 available for almost all the Symbian 2 handsets. That would instantly bring Symbian 4 into the top spot in global smartphone os market share and would give a lot of the current customers a taste of what their next Nokia handset would be all about. They should try to get their massive user base to think twice about jumping ship insted of trying to attract new people to a new Meego platform. Cus I remember lusting after the Maemo powered N900, yet i still struggle to remember the new name of the os. No name recognition at all.
