I don't hate Samsung, I just don't like them. They make great products but their designs just doesnt fit my taste and thats just it.

I'm far from being a samsung fanboy, the ONLY product i own from samsung, is the galaxy note, I also use a xperia s, my laptop is a macbook pro and I'm planning to buy the asus prime as my first tablet. Even my fridge is a sharp but you, you appear to be a real samsung hater.

To me, gimmick means having a selling or a cool feature that is actually useless. And this is the best example.

I really doubt a lot of people will use this security feature, its more like a play or fun feature to me.

i agree it was a gimmick but the fact is that this gimmick got plenty of my friends asking me does your phone have face unlock also it is much less of a gimmick and is much more useful as a security feature now that samsung has pretty much made it almost 100% secure from the fact that no matter how many pictures someone tries to use,pictures cannot blink.

Your friends are asking for it not because its a useful feature but more like a really cool feature.

It's easier and more convenient to just enter pins and passwords than wait for the phone to scan your face. Sometimes, depending on lighting conditions, it won't respond or atleast recognize your face. I can foresee issues with this. A feature that has a future but not to be trusted at the moment.

Originally, the face unlock was made as a quick unlock system for drivers and a security measure against thieves (What are the odds a thief has a picture of you?). But now thanks to Sammy, it is even more secure such that even your friends who want to sneakily use your phone, won't be able to unlock it. Samsung just made this a legit unlock system, no longer just a gimmick.
