True but Sammy is focussing on innovation and based on articles available there is a safe bet that Sammy will have awesome flagship phones even in 2013...flexible dispalys, 1080p SAMOLEDs, exynos 5, etc but that being said war of any kind is just bad news for all parties involved and whether we liek ti or not the damages are always collateral.
Of course I am rooting for Sammy! As clearly none of them are gonna back down.

I like SS too, but I also want other Android OEMs to do well.

My first three Android phones were HTC, the last three were SS, and in a few days I'll be owning a LG phone for the first time. If all we had was 1 OEM, it would suck.

It's just stupid... All the companies need to put their focus on making better product...

Samsung and HTC is doing just that.HTC gave in but Samsung isn't bowing down period.Meantime they're focused on their products being better such as the GS III and GNote II and possibly the GS4 .Apple is like a spoiled rich child that figures they made the first smartphone ,etc.I will admit 2007-2010 they were on top til Google and Android came on the scene and grind. Even RIM is making a comeback.sort of.

did you read this article at all? clearly Samsung is not. they're whole strategy meeting is focused on apple. not on making a better product.
19. Aeires (unregistered)
Yeah, they only have one meeting a year. Please tell me that's not what you think.

The executives' job isn't to design the phone and innovate. They have whole departments for that job. The executives' job is to strategize and map the future.
With Apple threatening to take up to $3 billion from Samsung plus future royalties, its a great idea to figure out how to beat them at that game!
The mobile phone department will still be guided by the vision of the executives, but they will be doing the brainstorming on how to improve Samsung's mobile phone portfolio.

Apple should have never messed with Samsung. Apple could have enjoyed a rich supply of hardware and partnership of chip design but had to act like a child and bring out the lawyers instead. Apple missed the big picture, it wasn't Samsung allegedly copying the iPhone that made them successful, it was using Android and their constant focus on innovating it past the other Android OEMs. No lawsuit by Apple yet has slowed down Samsung or Android's growth rate, their court antics have just made a consumer base despise them because of their use of questionable patents and lawyer tactics. Hatred for Apple is at an all time high because of their poor decisions and now the sleeping giant is fully awake and getting ready for an epic battle like never before. Samsung vs Apple will make MS vs Apple look like child's play.

So True. Normally for whitegoods we prefer LG but this festival season me and my brother bought Samsung Plasma TV. Apple fails to realise that thesec ourt battles are only getting more customers to Samsung ... and making the lawyers rich on both sides.
But kudos to samsung for taking it head on instead of cowing down to the patent troll.

From a full time apple user sometime android user.
It's time for apple to leave Samsung alone, get back to the lab and innovate. This crap sucks.
15. ithinkimjoe (Posts: 25; Member since: 19 Jan 2012)
Glad all the fandroids are in full effect not backing innovation. Glad samsung, the company that all these android users are praising are not planning on any innovation and instead wasting all the money the same customers are throwing at it on legal matters.
And samsung is outselling apple in terms of numbers of phones because they offer 150 different phones. and how many of them are on a current OS?
59. rusticguy (Posts: 2828; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
Defending against attacks from a patent troll doesn't tantamount to wasting money on litigation. It's called self defense and there's surely a difference between self defense and mindless patent trolling just because of dwindling market share :)

I wanna know how many kids are writing in this article. It just sound so childish

Samsung is a copycat. Now it seems, that S is also arrogant one. Earlier they declared about how "innovation is more important, than lawsuit".
Shame on you samsuck
34. Deadeye37 (Posts: 162; Member since: 25 Jan 2011)
And when not focusing on lawsuits results in a $1 billion loss, which could grow to $3 billion, have to start paying royalties to Apple, and product bans in a few countries. Is Samsung is supposed to sit by and ignore that?
Samsung has already shown that it can innovate, which is more than I can say of Apple as of late.

Exactly why i love Samsung....doesn't chicken out like HTC.. am proud of my S3 maker...

Look at the profits and market shares between Samsung and HTC. Who do you think has what it takes to continue in a global litigation war with Apple? If possible, no one would bow to Apple and that's a known fact.
24. shamatuu (Posts: 159; Member since: 02 Nov 2011)
Go Sammy!. Good for them. I say put them out of their misery. They are such bullys. Google should team up with them. Double kill Apple for their crap. Apple can go to hell for all i care. Plus do it for everyone so we can be happy.

well at least those CEO will be enjoying a nice vacation paid by the SGSIII owners, and to focus on Apple just like the haters here they focus on Apple too much and not so much on their prefer OS.

The IP designer's 17 million house was sponsored by Apple flock right?
You did not read even completely ... it's one of the agendas and not only agenda ... obviously how can one ignore a corporate terrorist who believes in calling everything as their own and want money for everything like those Somali pirates?

Best way to deal with apple
Release a new Nexus phone
Samsung GN2 form factor with a 4.8in screen adjusted proportionally
Remove S-Pen to Make thinner
Use latest spec's

Just like Germany initially won the war in Europe in 1939 via its blitzkrieg - so did Apple initially win the fight in the consumer electronics market in 2007.
And just like Germany eventually lost to the military might and stratagem of the Allies - so will Apple lose to the combined might of the Android army.
And just like Germany was led by a fascist totalitarian regime which suppressed human rights and freedom of choice, so is Apple is led by a totalitarian regime which suppresses human rights at foxconn and spits at the basic principles of liberty.
And just like Germany which was defeated, kicked hard so bad in 1945, left utterly devastated after the war, with it's leader dead via suicide, so will Apple fall in 2013 and become such a small scale company that will mainly focus on accessories for MP3 players.
And just like the Allies which were led by the United States of America which fought for the very FREEDOM of mankind - so will the Android army led by Samsung fight for the very FREEDOM of consumers.
They will fight. And they will win.
History repeats itself.

Earlier today I was thinking of the Japanese admiral who said they had the tiger by the tail when they invaded Pearl Harbor. I see Apple doing just that with Samsung, they really don't understand what they have gotten themselves into. I think it was a former RIM exec who said Samsung doesn't brush their teeth, they sharpen them. I think Samsung was overlooking a lot but Apple kept pushing and now Samsung is ticked off. Apple may be the richest but Samsung is the biggest and can absorb a lot through their other divisions if they really want to pursue this to a bloody end.

*Sets up speech podium*
"I have a dream..... A dream in which tech lovers of all races, creeds, colors, and religions, can enjoy technology of their choice. Their own choice, made by them, without the interference of the courts and all the bullsh*t patent litigation, I have a dream! I have a dream of a world where Apple users, Android users, Windows Phone users, and yes, even Blackberry users can come together in harmony and enjoy their technology without prejudice or ridicule, I have a dream! Can I get an AMEN!"
*Steps back from his poorly paraphrased MLK JR speech and passes out*
