Yeah, but third party gold metal doors are no match for orignal Samsung plastic gold in Elegance.

Shake my head Samsung, shake my head '"(..)"'

I just threw up a little in my month after looking at that hideous thing! A pink and gold phone? WTH are they thinking? Brown and gold is just about as bad.

Well I guess you are hairgresser, or ballet dancer, so we can trust you about this matter.
Becauce we don't buy any "gold" smartphones.

Hi, I'm Samsung. All I do is copy Apple. Copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy copy. And remember I am the innovator.....?.
75. PapaSmurf (Posts: 5807; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Phones have been released with the color Gold before. Educate yourself before you post a pointless comment again.
82. verbalize (Posts: 65; Member since: 03 May 2013)
Educate yourself before posting a comment that's false because it's true.with you making making pointless comments about something you obviously don't know about. That's all you do troll
95. nortoja79 (Posts: 25; Member since: 21 Feb 2010)
you don't seem to understand the previous comment. Samsung fanboys always nag on Apple for copying. Just after Apple's Iphone 5s in gold had to increase production by 33% over other colors (to compensate for demand on the gold color), well, now Samsung is trying to copy the apparent gold rush. Funny how Samsung fanboys are all of a sudden *very quiet* about it...or in denial such as yourself, that Samsung is copying. When will all fanboys of all companies realize that EVERYONE copies everyone else, and get over it.

See the Samsung Giorgio Armani, circa 2011. So, who's copying?
79. DaHarder (Posts: 130; Member since: 10 Oct 2009)
Oh Please... Samsung's been offering this same GOLD trim option on their Galaxy Tab 3 and Galaxy Note 8.0 tablets since their introduction some 6 months ago, so this is no surprise and only natural that it would also be offered on other Samsung Galaxy devices.
125. Shatter (Posts: 1747; Member since: 29 May 2013)
Apple fans will still call it copying even though Samsung had it first.
127. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 2957; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
The thing is... Samsung should've 'released' this very version around the time S4 first hit the shelves, or rather, get ready with it. Doesn't matter which type of gold device was released by whom in the past...start searching for it and you'll probably figure out Samsung ain't the first to come up with a gold colored device. But right now, Samsung is feeling the heat, and not to flame you up but they deserve it...and i don't blame people supporting Apple here. If they wanted a device to be Gold now, i think Note 3 should take the crown in my opinion. It's just a bad timing for Samsung.
128. Nathan_ingx (Posts: 2957; Member since: 07 Mar 2012)
On second thought, that might not be a solution at all. If Samsung released S4 in gold when it was first launched and Apple came up with it later...Samsung fanboys will be all over Apple again. And the battle continued to infinity. Hence, the entire comments will be the other way round.
Oh, boy! What a movie this would've been.
134. SellPhones82 (Posts: 361; Member since: 11 Dec 2008)
Well Samsung did announce the Samsung "Golden" (the damn thing has gold in it's name!) on 8-4-13, over a month before Apple officially announced the gold 5S. Not a word from Samsung peeps because there have been other ugly gold phones before, even from Samsung, the S3600 in fact.
The problem is the iFans, in typical iFan fashion, think Apple invented the gold colored phone and any gold phone is copying Apple due to being uneducated in any device that does not have an "i" in front of it.
18. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
Ha - this is fantastic. I wonder what all those fAndroid users will say to this. Explain to me how this isn't a direct result of Apple?? Please, entertain me!
25. cezarepc (Posts: 439; Member since: 23 Nov 2012)
Nobody is saying it isn't a direct result of Apple. Gold phones existed before iPhone became a phone but the recent announcement of Apple made it popular. So yea, Sammy is reacting to Apple's moves but that's how the market goes so no problem.
I think it's a new strategy of Samsung to counter ALL moves from Apple. Not just here, remember they were quick to announce they will have 64-bit chips right after the unveiling of iP5s?
28. asulect (Posts: 130; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
So you really think this is Samsung's *new* strategy? What have they been doing since the first iphone released then?
31. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
Completely agree. The reason I made that statement is because every Android fan claims Apple is nothing but a copy off of Android and hasn't ever come up with anything on their own. Where are all those loud-mouth Android users now?!
44. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Msa you're taking it to em Mxy style lol. +1
29. taikucing (unregistered)
not all fandroids are samsung fanboy
35. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
Quiet. Samsung owns such a majority of the Android shares its absurd. Android users were all exstatic about an article PA put out last month about how Samsung dominates not just the Android market, but the entire smartphone market as well. But now that you realize Samsung copies Apple as much as Apple copies Samsung, not everyone is a Samsung user now, huh? You Android users really don't think your s*** don't stink.
37. cezarepc (Posts: 439; Member since: 23 Nov 2012)
I'm an android user and will never ever buy an Apple product since I'm an advocate of open-source, nothing else (I owned an iPod nano though, cos it was way too cool back then). I have heavily invested time, money, knowledge, and (emotions?) in the android ecosystem so this is where I'm sticking.
I have respect for both parties and really appreciate what these guys bring to the table. If not for their competition we wouldn't be sooo interested in mobile technology.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is it's already a proven point that both parties copied something from the other. So stop flaming. Who copied first, who copied who. What matters is the here and the now. And right now we're getting mobile beasts and that's what we should appreciate. You never see Xbox gamers and PS gamers flaming each other instead they wow on the available games on the other platform and enjoy what's on theirs. Sh*t that was long.
55. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
1st - there's definitely a rivalry between Xbox and PS, but that's an argument for another day.
Next - If you see my posts from the past you'd know I'm relatively neutral when it comes to phone preference. I've had Android for years, currently own the iPhone 4S, but could happily go either direction with my next purchase. I'm not die-hard either way. What frustrates me is how arrogant and close-minded Android users are. According to them, Android is king, Apple is rubbish and every iPhone user is a blind idiot sheep. Apple makes a high quality, extremely desirable product. Even king Samsung knows that - hence the 64bit future and gold S4. This article proves how much more credit Apple deserves than it gets from 90% of the readers on this site. Where's PAPINYC? TROLL? Crickets......
46. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
I'm just gonna sit back, and enjoy the msa show. You are killing em dude. You're also 100% righteous too.
59. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
I enjoy every one of your posts defending Apple - same with Myx. I figured I'd give you guys a break and handle this one :p
56. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1616; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Im sorry darkkjedii but msa, you have no clue do you...when have samsung ever copied apple entertain me please...wait i will cover the first bases for you:
First galaxy S-Nope no copying there, first of all there is hardly any other design for a smartphone other than a rectangle with rounded edges and second the first iteration of touchwiz looked nothing like iOS except for the app drawer and lets be honest there is no other design for a app drawer
Gold S4-I fail to see how the hell this is copying, gold phones have been around for decades hell you could even get nokia flip phones in gold!
Face it your beaten in every aspect!
63. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
Gold phones have been out before but when were they relevant? I'll answer that for you - Never. Apple, the most admired company in the WORLD, comes out with a gold phone and sells out months of inventory in days. What's the result of this? Samsung comes out with THE EXACT SAME PRODUCT. Samsung announced the GS5 will have 64BIT processing. Do you need a refresher on who came up with that first?
74. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1616; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Im not sure the maker of the chip can be classified as a copycat......and who the hell said apple was the most admired company in the world because im sure 99% of the people on this site would disagree! And what the hell are you talking about gold phones not being popular
Both the nokia 3210 ( one of the most popular phones in the world ever) came in gold
Another is the Nokia C3-10 came in gold which was also extremely popular
face it the popularity of the gold phone color isnt up to apple alone! Samsung are continuing a trend set in motion ages ago!
77. cezarepc (Posts: 439; Member since: 23 Nov 2012)
@Whoyton 99% of the readers of this site are a minority in the real world man so we DON'T matter in GLOBAL polls.
And I'm also neutral on these things.
I agree with msa though on Android users being arrogant and close-minded. But according to my experience these Android users are the ones who think they are above the rest just because they read tech blogs and can flash a custom rom. True-blue android coders recognize the fact that iOS is one hell off an optimized structure (hence the less need for speed), have a nice ergonomic design, and IS user friendly.
Here are the facts:
1. Gold phone didn't start with the iP5s, but it was popularized when Apple outed the iP5. The song "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" used in the movie "The Lion King" was popularized by the film and we all love it, but it was written almost 100 years ago by an African tribesman. Do we flame Disney? Give credit where it's due. Samsung is riding the wave of the sudden increase in popularity of gold phones
2.It's already a fact that there were copying done from both sides. Get over it. What matters is what each side brings to the table NOW.
3.When all is said and done, everything boils down to preference. You can tell me orange juice is good for my body but I'd still take beer over it anyday. Same goes for people who like iOS over Andoid and vice versa.
87. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Ok msa, you've won a unanimous decision. There's is no need to hit a man when he's down...ok keep hitting lol.
105. willard12 (Posts: 487; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
I believe this is the gold trim Samsung is "coming out with" as well as the gold trim it came out with 3 years ago. Now, just because darkjeddi gets on his knees for you doesn't mean either of you can produce anything showing Samsung wasn't 1st. Enjoy the Msa show!
64. asulect (Posts: 130; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
Lol, I actually still have the first Galaxy S in my desktop drawer. That phone was horrible. GPS didn't work, unbelievable short battery life, the touchwiz on it actually did tried to copy the ios every way. Just the icons alone, they put stupid rounded corner box around all the icons so it looks like ios, instead of veritcal scrolling app drawers, they made the app draw scroll horizontally so it looks like ios.
76. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1616; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
Omg, horizontal app drawer is hardly a copy in any way!!!! My galaxy apollo had in vertical on its Orange Mobile skin! So your now saying Orange copied apple!!!! And rounded icons!! Really last time i checked rounded icons were not exclusive to apple!!!
80. asulect (Posts: 130; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
Yeah, just keep yourself in denial. Just because it's not exclusive, it does not mean samsung did not copy. When there are one or two things that just looks similiar, it may be coincident. When there are over 100 items similar, that is no coincidence. They'd even make the box and charge looks similiar to Apple's. FYI, I have 4 samsung smartphones before I switched to Apple. They are still all in my drawer.
106. willard12 (Posts: 487; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Are you in denial about toggles, pull down notifications, answer a call with a message, multitasking windows, fingerprint scanner, animated wallpapers, etc, etc....
85. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
WH you don't think that's a little apple inspired?
96. WHoyton1 (Posts: 1616; Member since: 21 Feb 2013)
hahaha maybe yeh darkkjedii im just sick of diehard fanboys saying every move samsung make is a copy of another OEM

Dude, I can't find Samsung. Am I supposed to keep scrolling down farther?
Same boat as Dark, sitting here watching you slam these tools back into their box. Most entertaining thread comments I've read all week.

Nice! There's another nice one to look up.
Look up top innovative on that site also. Should be a related link.
112. Googler (Posts: 813; Member since: 10 Jun 2013)
Huh, not all of us Android users are overjoyed about Samsung's dominance. Me personally, I prefer a lot more balance among the OEMs than just one dominating them all.
Please don't judge the many according to the loud mouth few.
41. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
It's definitely apple inspired, hope it looks good. Gold colored plastic doesn't sound great but we'll have to wait and see.
83. JMartin22 (Posts: 521; Member since: 30 Apr 2013)
You sound very stupid and uneducated. Stop making baseless assumptions.
119. darkkjedii (Posts: 8885; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
No I don't, I sound very smart, and right on the money. Your just mad. Get over it dude.

Deja, Deja Deja....oh wait.
62. Long1 (banned) (Posts: 399; Member since: 18 May 2013)
First of all:
Samsung did "gold" phones before Apple . So shut up.
The color of iPhone, was not "gold", but champagne.
Menial iMedia changed the name "champagne" to "gold" and made so insane, organized, free advertizing for the "gold" color, to make it populare, - so WHY SHOULDN'T Samsung take use of it ??????(it was same with 64bit, made from Samsung for Apple, but actually Samsung needed it most for its Tizen, ant leave the ad job to Apple- nothing is better than Apples marketing machine, and Samsung use it cleverly. Imagine if Samsung announced 64bit first - lol iMedia would kill them)
And last THE MOST IMPORTANT :
Except of few hairdressers , few ladys , and few metro men , no one else will buy "gold" colored phones.
So, take it easy iboys and iMedia . ROTFL.
65. msa1988 (Posts: 399; Member since: 30 Mar 2010)
They won't sell? Verizon's next available delivery for the gold iPhone is mid-NOVEMBER!
92. asulect (Posts: 130; Member since: 27 Aug 2012)
I think he really meant none else will buy the "gold" colored plastic phones.
111. RiseAgainst94 (Posts: 271; Member since: 03 Mar 2012)
Your argument is that is is champagne and not gold. Wow....good luck.
2. Ninetysix (Posts: 1010; Member since: 08 Oct 2012)
So this is one of the outcome from spying outside the Apple store on iPhone 5S/5C release day?
19. jove39 (Posts: 1196; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Not funny...samsung made gold phone when apple launched its first iPhone...2007...the year ocean's thirteen was released...remember a scene when abigail gift custom made gold phone to bank??? You don't watch movies? do you?
22. Ninetysix (Posts: 1010; Member since: 08 Oct 2012)
Yes jove39...that must be it. We all agree with you...
