The black guy holding the GS5 looks confused and frustrated. Seems about right.

I agree. There's too much clutter. It needs to be simplified.

Samsung is starting to panic. Why else does a company feel the necessity to create a bad image of a product that hasn't been even announced yet. With a larger screen, iPhone 6 is going to be an Android profit margin killer.

Hmm, Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5ghz with 2gb of ram. 16mp ioscell camera. Removable battery 2800mha battery. You can even get a 7500mha replacement battery for it. For me personally I would take AMOLED over an IPS display any day of the week. You can be more productive and the S5 vs the iPhone 5s. Not to mention all the smart watches out there for Androids in general. The only frustration here is the idiots who believe Apples words all the time. Like we have the perfect size and form factor in the iPhone almost every year. Now they want to release a 4.7" and a 5.5". So what's wrong with their previous perfect size and form factor? Yeah, right. A none HD tiny little 4" display. What kills me is people saying graphics is so much faster on the iPhones. Try moving more pixels around. With displays like the Galaxy S5, Note 3, and many more full HD displays. They are pushing almost 3 times the number of pixels around the screen. Truly the only people confused and frustrated would be the iPhone people who believe what Apple tells them.

Listen bro, I didn't even get past your first sentence. All that means nothing to me lmao. Get real.

Too each is their own. I have a iPhone 5 and Note 3. Since moving to Verizon for Working I went with the LG G3(Not sure if I am keeping it). Personally I could careless about a removable battery. I always buy a Mophie Juice-pack for my iPhones. I get both a case and extended battery. When going with an extended battery on Android devices you are SOL for cases for the most part.
Each phone provides something different for each user. With iOS i get a much more stable environment.
91. tedkord (Posts: 9692; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
When did we become SOL getting a case for an extended battery with Android? I've never had an issue getting one. Seidio makes great extended battery cases, with kickstands. So does Kraken.

The iphone's design does look sleeker and more sexy than the GS5 . Not to mention it has a better fingerprint scanner .
However , i would much rather wait for the REAL Samsung flagship , the Galaxy note series .Galaxy S series is kinda junior compare with note series

You are so right.
Yeah, the iPhone's a terrible size, with all those bezels. And I bet Apple could EASILY plop a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor into the iphone without 2 inches of bezel,
113. Iodine (Posts: 1266; Member since: 19 Jun 2014)
The A7 is even more advenced than that, snapdragon 801 is basically over clocked 800, which was over locked 600 with improved GPU. And guess what 805 is an over clocked 801 with improved GPU. That 2GB of RAM is not enough for a samsung S-bloatware, and thinking about that it's so low that even the iPhone is going to have that much memory this year. The camera is great and you can buy battery packs with micro SD slots, huge flashlights and so on. Limitless choice.
Yeah I would also take an Amoled from 2014 over LCD from 2012, or newer display in general, but the difference is not enough for me. That galaxy is just about 17% sharper, less bright, but has slightly better sunlight readability and very nice contrast. But the colors are inaccurate, amoled displays are producing more heat than LCD's, and I so don't like that adaptive crap samsung is trying to push.

from where you bring all this wrong information?
may be the creation of your own mind?
78. tacarat (Posts: 705; Member since: 22 Apr 2013)
Close proximity to iphone users can do that.
"It's so simple and intuitive, everything I want!" and then "Do you know how I...?" or "I can't wait for a bigger screen!".
I have a lot of misgivings about the Amazon Fire phone, but those are the types that will love it for Mayday.

Please tell me more about your close to bullcrap touchwiz and how your OS lags on an octacore chip?
iPhone is smoother and more stable with the dual core?
It is the software that matters these days
28. PapaSmurf (Posts: 10407; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Funny because when I had my S5 that thing never lagged. Try again next time.

I don't know what s5 you are using but my s5 lags so much! The only reason i choose s5 over m8 was because I really need a good camera. iPhone has good camera and everything but i can't go to a 4inch screen.

Dude my s5 works smooth evn wit my 16gig plus 8gig card full so check well maybe ur s5 has sum evil virus going 4 it
124. gamblor77 (Posts: 104; Member since: 26 Apr 2012)
Garuanteed you constantly have power saving mode turned on and it's down clocking the CPU. Or you bought a knockoff version from eBay for $200. Mine does NOT lag at all no matter how hard I push it so I don't know wtf is wrong with yours.
34. Ashoaib (Posts: 3223; Member since: 15 Nov 2013)
that software doesnt have any customization
84. iushnt (Posts: 1453; Member since: 06 Feb 2013)
Could you tell how your phone acts as a feature phone in 2014? Kayeeman its not about smoother, the more basic a phone is the more smoother it gets.., I just got a pendrive for my gs5:)
100. bob_monkeywarts (Posts: 236; Member since: 14 Apr 2014)
Yeah, Touchwiz is pretty awful.
And hey, how long has your iPhone's battery life lasted? An hour? Maybe two?
109. DnB925Art (Posts: 897; Member since: 23 May 2013)
There is this thing called the Google Play Edition if you want a stock experience without Touchwiz. More stable? Actually iOS has more force closes than Android. If the software matters, you get MORE functionality in Android.

iToys are just that toys. You either have to be a girl, a teenager, a senior citizen or just really dumb to own an iToy. I mean if you want the BEST tech available then the iToy IS NOT it.
Apple's iPhone is STILL not HD. Samsung has 1440p phones while Apple has not made it to 720p yet!!! They say they have the first 64bit processor yet they don't have enough RAM to actually use it. Really?!?
Apple is constantly claiming they are giving their customers the best when in fact they are not. The sad thing in all of this is that the Apple fans eat it all up.
When Samsung says "the thing you have been waiting on for years is already here" they are actually telling the truth... unlike Apple! lololololololololol
Ironic isn't it...

"Samsung has 1440p phones".
Can I buy that in the US?

Really... You might want to use Google, I mean it really works.
PhoneArena.com works well also!
Soon, very soon! lol
GREAT edit. I can do it too!!! ^^^

By 'science' retina display or the term retina, means the distance and screen size and pixel ratio to when your eyes cannot tell the difference in pixels. And for the most part they are right. quadhd is a race to the top of specs and nothing more, imo.
As well you really don't know what 64bit brings to the table, even if you don't have more than 4gb of ram. I am sure there are plenty of people here to show you what it truly means, but I would think you would need more understanding than.....it doesn't have 4gb zomg apple sucks look at my android name, wooooooooooo.
For apple if they want a bigger screen they have an iPad. Most people that want to do anything serious in terms of screen real estate use an ipad.
I love my note 3's screen size, but you have to be high to think it can replace a tablet of any decent size from 8in to 12in. It is one reason why I don't care that my every day phone is 4.5in (Yes my note 3 is a sidekick to my other phone), cause I just pull out a full blown 11.6in pc that syncs with my phone flawlessy and look at a note 3 user (this includes myself) and laugh that for the price of both, I can do more.
71. wilsong17 (unregistered)
Exacto mundo I will get the note 4 sure it will be waterproof I really don't care about metal... just like the price is right... the only thing the iPhone is going to rock is the built in 128gb drive at least I can have a 128 gb memory card

I have an 8" galaxy tab and a 15" Asus hybrid tablet/laptop. Both are quite capable devices in their own right, but my everyday usage in terms of casual web browsing and book reading has more or less completely shifted to my Lumia 1520 after I bought it two months ago. It's 6" and it's all but made my 8" Android obsolete and relegated my hybrid to purely laptop usage.
121. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4791; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
lol What on Earth are you talking about? It's a simple fact that you need a minimum of 4GB of RAM for 64bit to make a difference.
Dude in my line of business my Note 3's screen is much more usable than a tiny iPhone's screen. I can go to my website & actually show them products & have them fill out orders right from my screen comfortably.
The video's I show them are very clear sharp & big enough to see. No strain & up to 3 people can see it with NO issues thanks to the Super AMOLED's insane viewing angles. Plus I don't need to carry a tablet with me. I carry an Ultra Book if I need to carry anything else. My Ultra Book does WAY more than your tablet & it's just as light!!!
Tablets have come far but an Ultra Book will always kill it. Yes it's more expensive BUT you get a true do it all device not limited by tablet standards!!!
My tablet is my fun device. I watch Netflix, Crackle, Vevo, play over 350 NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 games, Dead Trigger 2, Modern Combat 4 & practice to speak a different language with Duolingo. That's just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head...
For WORK I would NEVER dream of using a tablet. The Ultra Book is WAY more efficient. My Note 3's 5.7 inch screen is the perfect size. Why carry a tablet when I already own a Phablet?
Ohh and Apple does suck, their business model is corrupt & down right not in the best interest of the customer. "look at my android name, wooooooooooo."
122. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 4791; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
... "cause I just pull out a full blown 11.6in pc that syncs with my phone flawlessy and look at a note 3 user (this includes myself) and laugh that for the price of both, I can do more."
So you laugh at yourself... You went & bought a Note 3 so you can laugh at yourself. Buddy you are indeed a champion of humanity.
Kudos to you for admitting that! lol

Dude i know plenty of tech enthusiasts who happily own iPhone including programmers and software engineers. Different people wants and need are different. I don't see why people don't realize it.
I honestly prefer android phone because it offers me big screens which is crucial and i don't need iTunes also I can put in a sd card.

People should be careful what they wish for, when competition no longer exists maybe then they'll realise how utterly silly their hating was.
WP, BB, iOS should all have the chance to exist for a healthy mobile world.

Apple still continues to sell iPhones at a 3 to 1 clip while yawning and laughing to the bank.

Apple has lost millions of sales to Samsung. Besides, Samsung sells more phones than Apple worldwide. #Schooled
8. nctx77 (Posts: 1606; Member since: 03 Sep 2013)
They sell more cheap phone! Apple don't play in that sand box playboy. #schooled
11. steedsofwar (unregistered)
That's Apple's loss. #Wasteman
22. willard12 (Posts: 1508; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Just because they convinced you to pay a high price for a cheap device doesn't make the device premium. It simply means Apple plays people for suckers. Numbers don't lie. Do the math, playboy. You paid a Bentley price for a Kia. Good job.
26. willard12 (Posts: 1508; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Ok, you paid $650 (or 2 year contract subsidy) for a $191-$197 phone versus $650 for another device with $256 in features installed. Is that more of an accurate comparison?
29. Ninetysix (Posts: 2287; Member since: 08 Oct 2012)
Probably broski. Don't do car analogies again..ever.
30. willard12 (Posts: 1508; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
You paid a Mercedes price and got a Hyundai, broski.

I'm Android user brosphine. I made this vid last week for Arte..want one for yourself as well? About device might be a little different since I updated to a newer ROM.
Oh and you might want to check out the Hyundai Equus.

I'm in the Army and served in Korea. I am more than familiar with the Equus. I' ve also served in Germany and am familiar with the cost to manufacture a Mercedes as well. Thanks.

Got medal, thanks. Like I said, it's like paying for a BMaw and getting a Saturn.
58. elitewolverine (Posts: 4911; Member since: 28 Oct 2013)
Ya you lived in Germany, I drive a 02 BMW M3, I have had to do more repairs, live through more bad recalls than my zx2 s/r that is still going, one repair.
So sure, go by car analogies. My m3 is great, gets the looks, but to go after one brand and say look bmw, its better, is about as derp as you actually thinking your s5, has superior parts.
45. Napalm_3nema (Posts: 2037; Member since: 14 Jun 2013)
Those who don't understand economics, or even more pertinent, economies of scale, should leave the BOM discussions to those of us who do. If you did understand, you would realize that $197, in the case of Apple, is greater than the $256 of Samsung.
Given Apple's ridiculous economies of scale, which are unmatched in mobile, they could probably build the Galaxy S5, component for component, for under $150, if it suited them. There is nothing really special or unique about Samsung's BOM, besides the AMOLED screen. SoC is off-the-shelf stock silicon, for both Sd and Exynos (You can put your name on anything you manufacture, but "Exynos" is just a Samsung brand name for "Stock ARM," as is "Mali."
90. iushnt (Posts: 1453; Member since: 06 Feb 2013)
Teaching economies of scale to Samsung would be like teaching dogs 'how to bark'.
94. tedkord (Posts: 9692; Member since: 17 Jun 2009)
That argument isn't applicable, since the studies giving BOM are using street prices. No one knows what either Apple or Samsung actually pay for parts for their phones. Likely, it's even less than the numbers given due not only to their buying power, but in Samsung's case due to their vertical integration - they make a lot of their own parts, which lowers costs.
So, to make the comparison legit, they're computing the BOM from street prices. So, no, Apple's $199 isn't greater than Samsung's $256.
104. Napalm_3nema (Posts: 2037; Member since: 14 Jun 2013)
It lowers costs some, but they still SE still buys those components because each unit is run as a separate business. What SE doesn't do is buy massive quantities of components (In the numbers Apple does) or capability at foundries or screen manufacturers because they do not use comparable components across multiple lines. The S5 and Note 4 will share almost no components.
As for "street prices," custom silicon, custom aluminum cases, and the other custom parts, such as Touch ID, cannot be given such a price. Do you know what it would cost Samsung to use an SoC like the A7? Billions. They don't have the staff or the licensing to do such custom silicon. They would have to purchase companies with the ARM micro architecture expertise, pay ARM a lot more for an Architecture license, and then dump the R&D money into developing their own SoC. "Exynos" is just a Samsung marketing name for "Stock ARM" CPU, and Mali is just a straight stock ARM GPU
119. iushnt (Posts: 1453; Member since: 06 Feb 2013)
Still, Samsung can better exercise economies of scale than Apple..period
