Looks like the billion Apple is going to get from Samsung, if they do, will be their only real earning this year.
Sammy is King and Apple, well is just an apple!

If Nokia would have gone with Samsung/Android, the Lumia 920 would've already sold 10 million since the time of their announcement... But instead they went with that confusing platform called Windows L8, and microsoft will be taken them down together... Such a pity, cause i liked Nokia. :(

Only time will tell whether Windows 8 is a winner or not .. But it has the potential .. Give it some time ..

But i don't think Nokia has the time to wait ..

but Meego also has the potential, a very strong potential but they did not give it a try. Poor judgement of Nokia CEO

Tell my 4 yr old it's confusing! I gave her my old Windows Phone for games and apps and she's a Pro with it.

Also how would Nokia go "Samsung"?

Also Lumia 920!

How is Android doing for HTC? Samsung is the ONLY one making any real headway with Android. Hell they are doing better than Motorola and Google owns them.

"How is Android doing for HTC?"

This is 100% HTC fault; HTC was on top of the Android world, but they got lazy.

They made phones without removeable battery, they stuck with small screen, they gave up 100% on the tablet market ( View / flyer).

So HTC made several mis-step just like Nokia did.
If they would had did exactly like Samsung ( IMO htc has a better UI) and made bigger screen, faster processor and kept the option of the Battery..They would still be in the game.

oh yea update Android faster, they would kick Samsung out of number 1 slot

...small screen? Their flagship phones are 4.7", how is that small? Larger than the Galaxy Nexus, 0.1" smaller than the GS3 on the diagonal. Are you sure you're not think of apple?
The removable battery was/is an issue, I will agree, but I think there were several factors at work: people like buying what is popular, even if it isn't the best option. This is why Toyota Camry is the most popular car by sales, the ipod is the most popular mp3 player, etc, and the Galaxy series are the best-selling lineup of smartphones worldwide. So instead of buying an HTC, the customers bought a Galaxy. Along with that, HTCs have had battery life issues, as well as problems with Sense, and a bloated lineup with too many models coming out too quickly, which is why they switched to a more simplistic lineup with the One and WP8 series.

That said, it is entirely probable that the most popular phones will define the platform, for sales and for mindset. IPhone for ios (duh), Galaxy for Android, and Lumia for Windows Phone. There may be other choices for consumers, but they'll just buy what "everyone else" is buying, so this is a very probable scenario.

If Nokia went with Android they probably wouldn't exist. Meego wasn't going anywhere. By going with Windows Phone, they enlisted Microsoft to help them out. There is more potential to make money with WP8 than with Android. I think the platform has potential, and its only getting better.

Best thing about this is that Samsung doesn't even have half of the worldwide android market.
HTC, ZTE, Sony, LG, Huawei, Motorola, Asus, Acer, Panasonic, Sharp, Pantech, Alcatel, Xiaomi, etc etc - have actually shipped around 80 million android phones combined, in the last quarter

They are far off. Apple should be appreciated cause they sell only one phone and still are second vs others who sell a thousand phones.

i feel sorry for nokia... if they could just continue the support for symbian and meego this will never happen... if they make a device 5 years advance before with symbian before, they could do it again.....

808 pureview proves that... but they need to revamp the software... make it more advance... im pretty sure they can do it!!! nokia belle catch up in the game.. all they need to do is support it!!! belle fp2 is like ICS 4.0.4... very smooth now...

nokia please listen... just give symbian a chance.. give it a major revamp.. im pretty sure it will be love!!! give it a major make over.. remake the browser and full the apps store with amazing apps and games!

Even though I love Symbian and I had about 10 Symbian smartphones, I think it lost the game when Nokia was too slow with the innovation. Nokia needs to put time and effort in this as well, they're in a bad situation. MAYBE Android is a good choice next to WP8, but I really don't see anything good to happen with Symbian, sad.
