Sammy is clearly KING, making sour Apple juice of the rest.
46. PhenomFaz (Posts: 1059; Member since: 26 Sep 2012)
Looks like the billion Apple is going to get from Samsung, if they do, will be their only real earning this year.
Sammy is King and Apple, well is just an apple!

uh oh, i hope jealous Apple doesn't get jealous enough to sue Samsung for being WAY more successful.

it took samsung so many years or perhaps decades to overthrow nokia...
its like loki overthrowing thor!

If Nokia would have gone with Samsung/Android, the Lumia 920 would've already sold 10 million since the time of their announcement... But instead they went with that confusing platform called Windows L8, and microsoft will be taken them down together... Such a pity, cause i liked Nokia. :(
5. sadaivadai (Posts: 156; Member since: 22 Nov 2011)
Only time will tell whether Windows 8 is a winner or not .. But it has the potential .. Give it some time ..
But i don't think Nokia has the time to wait ..
20. allen83 (Posts: 104; Member since: 01 Mar 2012)
but Meego also has the potential, a very strong potential but they did not give it a try. Poor judgement of Nokia CEO
19. neutralguy (Posts: 1152; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
oh, grow up. android and nokia won't happen. but it's a sad truth that all we have to do is to accept.
24. pookiewood (Posts: 462; Member since: 05 Mar 2012)
Tell my 4 yr old it's confusing! I gave her my old Windows Phone for games and apps and she's a Pro with it.
Also how would Nokia go "Samsung"?
Also Lumia 920!
38. Bilpocalypse (Posts: 301; Member since: 13 Oct 2012)
If Nokia went with Android they probably wouldn't exist. Meego wasn't going anywhere. By going with Windows Phone, they enlisted Microsoft to help them out. There is more potential to make money with WP8 than with Android. I think the platform has potential, and its only getting better.
9. zuckerboy (Posts: 614; Member since: 22 Dec 2011)
yes but 920 can not help the nokia. nokia has to move to android or keep going down...

How is Android doing for HTC? Samsung is the ONLY one making any real headway with Android. Hell they are doing better than Motorola and Google owns them.
33. MartyK (Posts: 665; Member since: 11 Apr 2012)
"How is Android doing for HTC?"
This is 100% HTC fault; HTC was on top of the Android world, but they got lazy.
They made phones without removeable battery, they stuck with small screen, they gave up 100% on the tablet market ( View / flyer).
So HTC made several mis-step just like Nokia did.
If they would had did exactly like Samsung ( IMO htc has a better UI) and made bigger screen, faster processor and kept the option of the Battery..They would still be in the game.
oh yea update Android faster, they would kick Samsung out of number 1 slot
37. -box- (Posts: 3536; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
...small screen? Their flagship phones are 4.7", how is that small? Larger than the Galaxy Nexus, 0.1" smaller than the GS3 on the diagonal. Are you sure you're not think of apple?
The removable battery was/is an issue, I will agree, but I think there were several factors at work: people like buying what is popular, even if it isn't the best option. This is why Toyota Camry is the most popular car by sales, the ipod is the most popular mp3 player, etc, and the Galaxy series are the best-selling lineup of smartphones worldwide. So instead of buying an HTC, the customers bought a Galaxy. Along with that, HTCs have had battery life issues, as well as problems with Sense, and a bloated lineup with too many models coming out too quickly, which is why they switched to a more simplistic lineup with the One and WP8 series.
That said, it is entirely probable that the most popular phones will define the platform, for sales and for mindset. IPhone for ios (duh), Galaxy for Android, and Lumia for Windows Phone. There may be other choices for consumers, but they'll just buy what "everyone else" is buying, so this is a very probable scenario.

Best thing about this is that Samsung doesn't even have half of the worldwide android market.
HTC, ZTE, Sony, LG, Huawei, Motorola, Asus, Acer, Panasonic, Sharp, Pantech, Alcatel, Xiaomi, etc etc - have actually shipped around 80 million android phones combined, in the last quarter

They are far off. Apple should be appreciated cause they sell only one phone and still are second vs others who sell a thousand phones.

i feel sorry for nokia... if they could just continue the support for symbian and meego this will never happen... if they make a device 5 years advance before with symbian before, they could do it again.....
808 pureview proves that... but they need to revamp the software... make it more advance... im pretty sure they can do it!!! nokia belle catch up in the game.. all they need to do is support it!!! belle fp2 is like ICS 4.0.4... very smooth now...
nokia please listen... just give symbian a chance.. give it a major revamp.. im pretty sure it will be love!!! give it a major make over.. remake the browser and full the apps store with amazing apps and games!
10. sbr999 (Posts: 79; Member since: 05 Jun 2012)
Even though I love Symbian and I had about 10 Symbian smartphones, I think it lost the game when Nokia was too slow with the innovation. Nokia needs to put time and effort in this as well, they're in a bad situation. MAYBE Android is a good choice next to WP8, but I really don't see anything good to happen with Symbian, sad.
23. pikapowerize (banned) (Posts: 1869; Member since: 03 May 2012)
it lost the game coz of no support! as far as i know symbian foundation gave a new UI to nokia called UIQ but they completely ignore it and go for s60 instead... UIQ was optimize for touch screen--which both RIM(just for example) and nokia thinks that touch screen isnt a smartphone! the one with keypad is...but now... smartphone is a touch screen... thats why RIM is making a huge step with QNX-based OS BlackBerry 10...but still they'll make their own signature QWERTY phones that some people prefer..
back to UIQ..
they completely ignore it! s60 wasnt optimize for touchscreen! symbian foundation provided an answer but nokia just ignore this...
and besides... behind android are symbian engineer coz symbian foundation collapse and google pick them up!
so if nokia just listen to the foundation, this will never happen! maybe symbian is still on top... and maybe android is catching up and still dreaming to give linux a name...
just look at nokia belle, it is comparable to GB... and belle fp1 is comparable to ICS while belle fp2 is like an update, more like ICS 4.0.4 which fixed bugs and add some juice to the software!
and on multitasking, symbian still beat android... even running 60 apps(saw this on youtube), it is still alive and fluid...not to mention symbian phones only have 265-512 RAM... symbian isnt a battery life drainer! while android, you need the latest updates, hardware and software to make it very good to use.. and when you buy android, to make its experience good for you, you need to buy a high end or flag ships... while symbian, 701, a mid range and now below midrange price, is ok for everyone!

elop won't listen to your bickering. admit it Samsung is the new Nokia.

Can't compare cheap plastic to quality polycarbonate plastic. Sorry.
49. zuckerboy (Posts: 614; Member since: 22 Dec 2011)
yes u r right about build material but why samsung number one 1 ? because build is not everything my friend everyone wants performance material at second plan this is general opinion. samsung is not new nokia because samsung doesn't give so called 'smartphones' as nokia did once.
27. pikapowerize (banned) (Posts: 1869; Member since: 03 May 2012)
samsung will never be the new nokia... if samsung could actually make a phone that is very durable, then you can say that!
beat 3310 first!!!
and oh... even the glorious s3 was beaten by iPhone 5 durability on the drop test... who's lousy now?

Have you seen the Captivate or do you enjoy blabbering?
44. remixfa (Posts: 13901; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
agreed. My SGS1 vibrant is still running strong and nearly scratch free after over 2 years of abuse, dropping, running into things, ect.
The SGS3 is one flake in an entire line up of very durable phones. The i5 is one durable phone in a line up of flakes.

Make more profit sammy before nokia jumps into android....
15. omacmagic (Posts: 25; Member since: 26 Oct 2012)
I have no doubts buying a Lumia android phone if Nokia produces it and I'm sure countless of others do but Nokia NEVER listens to what ppl want :/ That will always be their downfall.
16. someones4 (Posts: 608; Member since: 16 Sep 2012)
Aggresive pricing, amazing pr and marketing, flooding the market with devices, vast resources and most importantly, innovation. I can only see samsung going up from now on.
18. PapaSmurf (Posts: 5823; Member since: 14 May 2012)
An Android powered Lumia 920 would make my mouth drool.
Samsung has been king and will continue to!
28. pookiewood (Posts: 462; Member since: 05 Mar 2012)
I know the Android bots have taken over these comments but I'm sorry I wouldn't want Android on the Lumia line at all. Maybe they can a totally different design to satisfy ya'll but keep WP8 with the Lumias. The Design and the OS are a perfect combo. You'll see the Lumia 920 is going to own. Nokia will be ok.
34. Topcat488 (Posts: 974; Member since: 29 Sep 2012)
As long as Nokia sticks with Windows L8, it will never be, what it's full potential can make of it. Put that camera on a Samsung, and its SoC, let Nokia design the body of the phone... Wham, Bam, thank you Maam; For that intensive orgasm, just nutted all over the though of it! Call it the illuminate 920, if you want.

is the light blue area featurephone?
wow...never really expect ZTE will be up there!! i mean does anyone really buy there devices? maybe in cheap market...
as far as i know huawei and ZTE are the makers of our broadband stick here.... motorola-made are expensive!
39. Friendlysky (Posts: 54; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Keep it up Sammy, I will support your products . All my family have 5 GS 1-3 plus note II very soon. NO APPLE. I told my colleage No apple it's no goods.
42. networkdood (Posts: 5248; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
do not cheer for any one company as that company cares nothing for you personally. Buy what you feel is the best for you, even if it is made by APPLE, Samsung, Nokia, etc. Companies get complacent (see APPLE) when they realize that they can sell something just because of the name, because of the brand.
40. Ravail (Posts: 181; Member since: 14 Oct 2011)
Nokia will continue to destroy itself as long as it uses WP and Stephen Elop is CEO. Either way... Samsung all the way!
