Hope they release a Wave 3, but probably will be the Galaxy S2.

and hopefully it comes with bada. right peter?

bah, between a Wave and a SGS2, the wave has no chance.. sorry peter. Bada seems nice but its going to be a good while before it catches on.. if at all.

I know that the Galaxy S2 has better specs than the wave. I do think though that the upcoming wave 3 will have the same specifiactions as the Galaxy S2.

Also the possibility it might be known as the Stratosphere on Verizon. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
It'd be great for Moto to have some competition on Verizon.

the Stratosphere is the Slider that's been leaked.

This is really exciting. 2 1/2 weeks seems soooooo long. Lol

tack on another 2 weeks after that for release because the 2 1/2 weeks is just for the announcement. itll be at least a month from now before we actually see this phone if not later.

All I can say is it's about time! I will be purchasing this baby as soon as it arrives at ATT. Iphone has seen it's day and it's reign will be over when this bad boy hits the streets!!

Sammy now copy HTC and will have Snoop Dog to have his children books preloaded on the tablet and all Samsung phones... expect the pic with Snoop Doog and the Samsung CEO smokin a joint
14. wassup (Posts: 565; Member since: 23 Jun 2011)
why you be hating on Samsung Gallito?
i hope they make a deal with skullcandy/Bose instead of snoop dogg... i prefer Lil' Wayne and Eminem.
lol that would be a perfect picture.

I hate Samsung because TouchWiz and the plastic on their phones.. hmmm not for me..love their TV but hate their phones..the only phone i kind of like of Samsung will be if Samsungs makes it.. will be the Nexus Prime....

Obviously you didn't see new TW 4.0 on SGS2. It's completely different than older ones and looks even better than Sense to me.
30. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3069; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
jinwons you cant expect haters to actually do any kind of research or anything. I mean people still hate on Motorola for the Devour.
Not only has Samsung been using metal like back covers but they also use Gglass while others don't.
Plus Samsung's new UI is much more smooth and responsive than the other UIs. That's why so many people are drooling over the Galaxy S 2.
*Waiting on my PA stalker to harass me for giving Samsung props*

Agree with you on the good quality on Samsung phones. both my wave and wave 2 are made of metall and glass. And the bada UI is very smooth and fast.

I actually prefer the plastic builds. It has a gorrilla glass face and a lightweight body. Your going to put a case on it anyways so you will never feel those so called "premium" materials (that cost an extra $.05 on the phone.. wooo). Most cases are made out of plastics and rubbers anyways. So unless you just like a heavy phone as some do, your waisting your time worrying about if its plastic or aluminum.
I love poking that point to people that dis on samsung for using plastic while they praise apple for using.. glass.. lol... or HTC for using aluminum.
The plastic is more durable than both of those, and if your going to put a case on it, you will never notice the difference anyways.

So stoked. Was gonna hold out for a dual-core w/ slide out QWERTY but I don't know if I'll be able to resist.

There actually may be a slide out qwerty version being released.

hate all you want, gonna be a while before a single company outsells the iphone
12. dallas90733 (Posts: 36; Member since: 06 Mar 2011)
It has to be "Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus" not the regular "Samsung Galaxy S2" to compete with A-5 which is coming out around the same time. what do you guys think?.

Is the WiFi on this phone Built-in?
So, say my bill can out to be $674.87 and figured, "The hell with that" ...pay $200.00 to terminate my contract, figure out how the hell to pay for what I owe...........and use my Optimus S, simply for games, Facebook..Will the WiFi still turn on?
19. vantenkiest (Posts: 308; Member since: 20 Apr 2011)
umm wtf.. yes wifi is built in you just have to connect to a network.
18. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
just about any smartphone has wifi and that can be used without other services, Jeff.
Happy to see the SGS2 finally making its appearance. With ICS so close behind it though, is it worth it anymore? If the hercules comes with that reported snapdragon processor its off my list. Exynos or nuthin buddy!
20. vantenkiest (Posts: 308; Member since: 20 Apr 2011)
oh hell yeah i want that exynos.. ROAR

If this phone came to the US when it was initially released i can understand the hype. However it has taken sooo long. Why are you people exited to buy a product that is 4 months old??????
24. district11 (Posts: 124; Member since: 17 Apr 2011)
Because it is the best smartphone out there ???
31. nz (unregistered)
but for how long? Possibly the best smartphone that will be outdated faster then any other seeing as its already 4 months old.
42. remixfa (Posts: 14255; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
if it has the exynos cores, then it will be a while before its dethroned.. maybe after the Nvidia quad core Kal El chiped phones launch.. but there isnt another dual core that can touch it.
if it has the snapdragon cores.. well then... BLAAAAAAAAAH. BRING ON ICS.. lol

THe Galaxy S 2 for Tmobile will be the Vibrant 2 W/ a 4.3" Screen it will its NOT the Herculesor however you spell it haha
34. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 3069; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
Oh really? Then what was that huge 4.5 inch phone that showed SAMSUNG GALAXY S 2 on the back for T-Mobile?
And yes it was 4.5 because you can clearly see the difference in phone size, that thing was bigger than the regular galaxy s 2.
33. ltr (unregistered)
better late than never.
I know some people that have the GSM version and played with it. ITs worth it.
Bigger question is, are all of them going to be 4G???
37. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 7030; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
Why is it ATT gets the crappy names? Just wish I never bought my Atrix would trade it in for the Galaxy S II
38. CobaltBlue (unregistered)
If the phone has 4G on all the major carriers and manages to keep it's original slim profile, then it will be a hit.
If Verizon and AT&T end up getting 3G only versions of it, it will be doomed to being a mid-tier phone.
Given rumors of the HTC Vigor and LG Revolution 2 having specs like 720p resolution screens, 1.5 ghz dual core processors and what not, the Galaxy S II doesn't seem all that impressive in the long run.
45. Ivan6479 (Posts: 248; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
Hmm... Maybe they decided to put the II as a designation since it's the second scheduled meeting, because the one they scheduled back in May got canceled? I guess everyone seem to forgot about that. Here is the link to that article: http://www.phonearena.com/news
/Samsung-May-24-event-gets-postponed-to-a-later-date_id18877Well we can only hope for the best as we are now half way through the month with still no firm proof of when any of us in the U.S. will get to take advantage of this mythological device. Samsung is really sticking it to us. I swear if HTC or any other company put out anything that will give this phone a run for their money I will be jumping on that in a heart beat, jut because Sammy has left us folks in the U.S. waiting with our you know what in our hands.
