Samsung has just announced that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be coming to five U.S. carriers sometime this month; Verizon, Sprint., AT&T, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular will each be able to offer its customers the highly anticipated device and each version will come with 2GB of RAM...

Tmobile's will be the best.

they will all be the same, but if there is bloatware, Tmobile will have the least, the plans are by far the cheapest by nearly half of VZW, and its 42mb hspa+.

Total cost of ownership goes into which is "best".

it also won't compete directly with the Droid Razr HD. ;P

lol. I dont think the Razr HD can compete with the SGS3. The galaxy has something the HD doesnt.. tons and tons of hype to nearly iphone levels. Besides, what chipset is in the HD?

the Razr series is quite popular here on Verizon. most of the SIII hype is for the International markets. the Razr HD will have better build quality, it'll be water resistant, it'll have Motorola Radios, an immensely better Webtop experience, a large 3300mAh battery, a better camera might be in the fold and a better UI. there's 3 possibilities in order of likelyhood. an S4 @ around 1.5GHz, an OMAP4470 @ 1.8GHz or an OMAP5 @ an undisclosed frequency.

if its the older OMAP, sales reps will get turned off and not sell it. if its the S4, the SGS3 will still outsell it. Build quality is subjective. Webtop is a minority feature. the SGS3 has the hype in the USA as well and it has more "hype features" like S-Voice and such like that. If it has the Omap5, that would be a stand out feature, but the chip hasnt even found its way to an official announcement yet, so unless the HD is coming out at christmas, i doubt its omap5.

They are both gonna be great phones and which one is better will be subjective.... but as far as sales, the SGS3 is going to eat up the android market.

in reality a 4470 clocked that high could perform on par with an S4, the only way that would be pulled off is with that MAXX battery it'll have. the high clock frequency will create an impression if that's the factor you're pointing out. i don't know about that, you see the effect the MAXX has made. purely by sales on VZW the HD has more than a chance. Webtop 3.0 may be viewed as a gimmick but it is incredibly nice to use and is very practical for business users. that's why the OMAP5 was at the end of my list but TI has been so shady that i don't think there's any real solid info about it. i was just talking about popularity on Verizon hence my original remark.

I am very excited for the razr hd. Untill the razr I felt like motorola was falling behind. Based on what I know about it I would rather the razr hd than any non international version of the s3. I just hope that they make it as good as it sounds.

verizon is the worst..

worst for updates
worst for 3g data speeds
worst for bloatware
one of the more expensive carriers around

Verizon has the most customer satisfaction along with T-Mobile.
best 3G coverage
best LTE Coverage
i don't know why you have in your head updates are any slower on VZW than anywhere else but that's an exaggerated concern.

This is accurate, except I believe sprint has slightly worse 3G speeds (they are the slowest of the big 4). $30 for only 2GB where you get 3 from AT&T, slowest rollout of ICS for their phones, still no major update to the Nexus... Only think Verizon has that sets it apart is the Droid line, and that isn't all that special anymore. That being said, the RAZR is an excellent device, but is now last generation, so no longer worth the contract

Verizon always does 4GB for $30 deals. AT&T & T-Mobile only have one ICS UPDATE each over VZW, 2 for T-Mo in a few days and that's not even counting the XOOM and then there's the other points i made.

Tmobile has the most 4g coverage and half the price. :) HSPA+ is also more battery efficient than LTE. :)
total cost of ownership of a super phone on Tmobile is like 2000 less than it is on VZW.

the trick is, if your in a VZW or ATT LTE market, your also in an Tmobile HSPA+42 market. So unless you travel outside population centers, your just paying more. :)

not the 42mbps variety. it eats battery just as much as LTE. i know, i've dealt with plenty of both. i can't say much about the coverage because T-Mobile is the only carrier i haven't actually had but if Verizon ever displeases me which i doubt they will i'd go to T-Mobile. i give HSPA+ 42mbps it's props for being on par with LTE now but LTE has more long term potential. remember T-Mobile is going LTE at some point as well. Verizon's focus entirely on LTE is the smarter move in the long term.

Verizon is probably waiting to launch this phone until they roll out their new data plans, just like they did with the Droid 3 and Bionic last year.

This will be a nice launch. Now if Motorola just steps up its game and releases its new awesome phones, and we'll have a hat trick of awesomeness on at least two or three of the major carriers. :)

If thats the case then I'll just wait and nab the Razr HD. I think it's safe to say that once that happens the Razr HD won't be far behind. I would personally prefer it over the SGSIII.

Hopefully the Verizon version has the three on screen keys like the Gnex(Sorry got a seriously bad hangover and can't remember the technical name for it)

But I wish they just had a black version, the pebble blue is ugly. I can stand the white though.

Whoa! Now I want to import this one to Europe :p
2GB RAM + LTE - more than a fair trade for the Exynos version

Yeah yeah 2Gb Ram for no multitasking issue!
I wonder how S4 controls the memory usage. From a video on youtube, I see Ram used is more than 900 on LG optimus lte 2.

Well that just means that the US versions will get a LOT of bloatware, me thinks. Why else market with 2GB of Ram? :P

i believe it will perform just as good or better than the international version in benchmarks and real life performance. i have seen the difference between a pc with more ram compared to another with a same processor with less ram. i am sure twice the ram is what i'd prefer

Hopefully all 5 versions would be the same price. it'll bring more competition because every carrier have different perks to lure customers like US Cellular have member rewards and Sprint has unltd data. I have AT&T and im sticking with the Note because theres not much difference between the two and im a big guy so i need a big phone!

For those of you that are looking to upgrade or change carriers, this is the phone for you. which carrier will have the best version of the S3...................Phone Arena should do a comparison to find out!!

All will have the same internal hardware besides radio. It will come down to the price of service plan and coverage for most. I could see Verizon just offering the 32GB version just so they can have that $299 price point in my opinion but hope they offer the 16GB version as well.
