And this is just the 4S, when they started moving to other manufacturers.

Okay you're clearly an idiot. I thought of that site first but it doesn't even give you a complete breakdown of everything. It just disassembles it and tells you the part they SEE.
In case you didn't notice, they avoid even telling you who manufactured the processor.

Can't edit for some reason but apparently any other site that will give you a complete breakdown on the components used will show that almost all expensive parts come from Samsung. Face it, Apple has been buying parts from Samsung since day 1.
I'm not gonna bother with your ignorant little sh*t anymore.

What a jackass. It's clearly saying

"Apple A4 Processor"

Every expensive part is clearly labeled there unless you're looking for screws and glues.

There is no exclusive samsung part, idiot. Go find one. Don't f**king reply to someone if you can't back your s**t up.

Quotation from Samsung’s trial brief:

"... could not have sold a single iPhone without the benefit of Samsung‘s patented technology."

Samsung is talking about patented technology, but they don't say taht it is an material component or part of device, for example it may be an manufacturing technology or something like that... And since we don't know about what exactly Samsung is talking about, please leave all your rhetorics about components away...

"...invented much of the technology for today‘s smartphones."

You FAILED to provide one single example to validate their claim -

Then you said what's wrong with the quote. LMAO

Have a nice day.

NO! I think that it is you FAILED because you have skipped my question in post #46 also you have skipped my question in post #57 and also you have skipped my question in post #60. And finally you are ignoring what I have wrote in post #64.

In other words you are just twisting your tail out of situation, YOU FAILED!

Samsung deserves to fight this. A company that uses some of their tech and then sues them for "supposed" patent violations is worthless. Apple needs to calm down before it sets all its bridges on fire.

Patents are inventions. Go see how many patents Apple and Samsung invented. You are an idiot if you think Motorola, Nokia, Ericsson, invented the mobile phone. A mobile phone contains vast number of different technologies ranging from LCDs to integrated circuits to Flash memory. Surely Motorola/Nokia/Ericsson didn't "invent" LCDs, flash memories, integrated circuits. No one company "invented" a mobile phone. It's just a mere evolutionary process starting from the first telephone.

Sure Motorola, Nokia, and Ericsson had large contributions in the early days, but Samsung now produces the SoC, flash memories, OLEDS, etc. It's not a stretch to say that Samsung has contributed as much as other mobile phone companies to the current landscape of the smartphone industry. And look what happened now? Motorola Nokia and Ericsson can't even compete with Samsung, let alone HTC.

So Samsung is trying to take some credit? I surely think that they deserve it. And as for "first to do it", who do you think it was that brought polyphonic sounds and mp3 playing capabilities to the mobile phones?

Apple and stealing no way man. They only innovate and revolutionize the world by the technologies which exist years before coming into their devices. But as they come from apple(by hook or crook / by stealing or buying the small companies) these are inventions not stealing.

normally they buy the companies AFTER they infringe on their products to keep from being sued.

Unless your the guy that invented the ipod.. in the /80s long before apple was anywhere near the music game... then apple rips it off lock-stock-n barrel and claims innocence. What did the guy get? Oh, he had the pleasure of being tricked into helping DEFEND apple against another company's claim that Apple ripped the ipod off of them, and then right after he helped win the court case, was publicly disemvowed and told by good ol Steve Jobs that he wasnt the inventor of the product, Apple was.. 20 years later. Thank god Apple invented time traveling, right?

He had no money for good lawyers to sue Apple.. and after all his back n forth he got a free ipod out of the deal... which broke within a year. They wouldnt even replace it for him.

Yaaaay apple!!

Two biggest copycats of the history (Samsung and Apple) are suing each other. It's extremely entertaining. Samsung and Apple never invented a crap - never. While Apple is smart enough to hide its work under shiny layers, cheapo Samsung keeps getting caught off-guard. I remember Samsung even copied the appstore icon and put that on their banner - I can't think of anything that could be more embarrassing.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Sammy pulls their tech from Apple.

@cptbeatstix: Apple would just turn elsewhere. Samsung isn't irreplaceable you know. Plus, Samsung doesn't take these patent wars as personally as all you whining bit**es. It's just business, and while it brings Sammy money, they'll provide parts.

Dude you need to calm down. Stop getting so worked up over someone's opinion. I know that they aren't irreplaceable, but their quality is. Why do you think Apple uses them in the first place. Plus, with the amount of grief that Samsung has been getting from Apple, a lot of companies that make processors and what not while be very hesitant to do a contract with them. Take a chill pill dude, this stuff isn't worth having a heart attack over.

I am perfectly calm, thank you. It's you whom I'm concerned about ;-) I still think that Samsung will not stop providing for Apple just because of the patent wars. You think that business is like kindergarten: when one kid slaps another, the other won't invite them to their birthday party? I'm against talking about OS's and phone companies as if you are defending your own country, and calling the other OS's users "fans" or "sheep" (the last sentence doesn't refer to you, it's only an opinion).

Good day sir.

We're not talking about slaps now. We're talking about a company being sued for billions of dollars. So yes, there could be a possibility of samsung pulling their tech from them. I'm not predicting it wil happen, but if Apple wins the the suit and gets the money, don't be surprised when Sammy pulls it. I would do business with someone I provide hardware for sued me for "infringing" on their patent and wanting more money than what the pay for hardware.

Good day to you too.

All Samsung really has to do is charge for price of components and the patents they come with. Then sue for every device held accountable. Apple likes bragging about their sales every keynote right?

Apple's biggest mistake was thinking Samsung was going to be a push-over. History will look back on this as one of Apple's biggest mistakes.
