Samsung said to fire up the conveyor belts for the first batch of 1.5 million Galaxy Note 3 Lite units

Some more info has trickled down on the eventual affordable Note 3 variant, which is expected to have a 5.7" screen, and a more modest 8 MP camera, compared to the 13 MP shooter the original sports. Samsung has apparently started its production today, with the manufacturing goal to make a million and a half Note 3 Lite handsets by the end of February. The mobile division has set its eyes on the aim to hit 30% of the total Note 3 sales with the Note 3 Lite, hoping it will go to people who want the stylus-wielding phablet, but the flagship price tag prevents them from getting it...

Samsung and LG are brothers, they born in the same country, eat kimchi by the same brand. That's why their UI and design look similar to each other.

Yuck! Samsung will devalue its Note series with cheaper duplicate. They really run out of ideas.
Not learning anything from Apple iPhones 5c lesson. iPhone 5s outsell iPhones 5c 3 to 1.
Apple has to drop price on 5c to boost sales and they do have a wide margin to begin with.

As a Note 3 owner I'm actually not offended by this move. Why should I? My version of the Note 3 will still be top dog. It's when Samsung/phone OEM's release "better" phones then the current model after only a few months of being on the market; that's the problem. No different if Apple releases a iPhone 5s without touchID. Why should original 5s owners complain?
Or better yet if you bought a super fast Intel i7 processor and Intel later released a i5; why should the i7 users complain? Or if you buy a nVidia 770 graphics card and a month later they release a 670 why should you lose sleep? This has been going on in PC land for over 30 years.

I am not offended as well. If Samsung produce something i want i will buy it. Otherwise i save money for something else.
Recently you don't find me making fuss about Apple fans. In fact i have to thanks them for driving Samsung to make better product that interest me. Making them affordable too. Apple fan if they dig deeper tbey would realize Apple lowing their price solely due to strong competition and nothing else. Both Samsung and Apple are at the top of the food chain we fans are nothing but cash cow.
Samsung making cheaper version of anything just don't hold my interest at all.

I bet you wouldn't have complained if you would have bought a R9 290X on launch day. If you know what I mean.

Actually, i understand that Sammy is following their usual trends of making 100 of different models of their successful series.
Just wish they would release something higher end like the Note 8 2014 edition LTE edition instead.
Plus please manufacture more black color Note 10.1 2014 edition. Its still out of stock. No getting the white model ever.

They should have learned from Apple but they all must fall to rise again or keep doing stupid crap that causes them to spiral uncontollably to decline and death before they get it....then it will be too late. rofl

Why is Sammy doing this? You want to be present at every segment of the market, jack of all trade ,master of none. Sammy is never excellent at anything! Is there not going to be any premium product line without furcation? S4 ,S4 active,S4 zoon,S4 this S4 that bla bla bla....?
This note 3 will probably be my last samsung phone, I hope Apple debut a big screen Iphone next year.

I'm with you J2k. Note 3 is amazing, and isn't made any less amazing no matter how many variants released. Since when is abundant choice a bad thing? Only idiots can criticize this move.

I know. It's like buying a high end Lexus 800 and you find out that they released a mid range Lexus 500. You're now upset that Lexus is catering to the mid range market and now you refuse to buy another Lexus. ??????

The thing is. You can't change the amount of time a day has. Or the total human resource present on the planet. Both are limited. Developers have limited time. More devices means more devices to optimize for and less time being spent on optimizing per device and hence more number of lesser quality devices. THAT is the problem.
I wouldn't have complained if S4, Note 3, Note 2 and S3 were running KitKat without any hiccups. But the truth is. They aren't.
Are my arguments invalid?

agreed. note 3 is great phone, rooted and remove the bloat warez, then you'd done! lite version? if the performance reduced, then people won't go to the full note 3. just makes sure the lite performance is on par with the original, even it cuts out the features because of resources reason, then it'll fine.

If there's no OIS in their upcoming phones than the Note 3 is my last Samsung phone.
