Samsung reports 5 million Galaxy Note 3s shipped in a month
0. phoneArena 30 Oct 2013, 05:19 posted on
For the 30-day mark, Samsung Mobile's chief has apparently made a press conference to reiterate the success of the Note 3, where the 5 million number was announced. It is not clear if he meant shipped or sold, but in any case it seems that Samsung might have another hit on its hand with the S Pen-wielding phablet...

Cause apparently people don't ever go to a place where there is sunlight, according to you. A phone is useless if you cant see the screen outside.
I am a supporter of all OEMS cause i like to see advancements in all areas but if people end up blindly going for a company then they are not seeing the bigger picture. Loyalty will do you no good as a consumer in the modern market.

Automatic brightness shoots to 660nits so your comment is invalid thanks.

It does not matter how bright a screen is if it is super reflective, your comment is invalid thanks

even though my s3 or note2 screen don't have the brightest screen like some lcd on other phone.. i still didn't find any much trouble when using them outside.. haters will always talk sh*t..

I never said the note 3 was bad at all. All is said was that the outdoor screen visibility enhancement should be supported not brought down so you could say "oh samsung is the best!" Please learn to read before you start attacking people just because they have different views to you.

You sound like an Apple fanboy...

Thats funny cause i own a gs4 and a lumia 925. Totes apple products. Do you really need to say "youre a fan boy" if i just say i support innovation and dislike loyalty or what you would call fanboyism?

True I don't but needed something for productivity because I was sick of carrying around my tablet everywhere. Like it or not the note 3 is tops in that area.. they got rid of the hyperglaze so I jumped. Love my 1020 too

Why does this matter so much to some people?
27. Finalflash (Posts: 2167; Member since: 23 Jul 2013)
Those are usually Apple fans who monitor Apple's sold (to carrier) numbers. They don't understand supply and demand in economics, otherwise they would know that shipped is a number usually close to sales. Because no one orders a product....if it isn't selling.

all 5 million units are already sold in the market not just shipped samsung only shipped their flagships based on demands so they already got all the profits from the 5 miilion galaxy note 3

I think this number is alil bit disappointing for samsung.. samsung needs a flagship for holiday season and it seems note 3 cant capture all the customers they expect.. may be its about its huge size..
samsung needs to do something for holiday season.. its not 2012 when nobody released anything better than S3 and note 2..
20. PapaSmurf (Posts: 9848; Member since: 14 May 2012)
5 million a month is disappointing? Seriously? Name a phone that sold over 5 million the first month besides Galaxy models and iPhones. I'll wait all day.
45. Arman (Posts: 47; Member since: 08 Jul 2013)
did you read? or just attack after seeing a word "Disappointing"...
Ive said FOR SAMSUNG .. samsung has only one flagship right now and its a phablet.. with billions of marketing budget (seriously , BILLIONS of marketing only for Note 3) and market move toward bigger screens, I expect to see iphone numbers for ANDROID flagship.. 5 million in one month isnt bad or even mediocre by any means.. its just not a huge success and ROI for samsung investment..
iphone sales are totally irrelevant because firstly its not even comparable in terms of numbers( 9 million in 3 days VS 5 million in 30 days? ) secondly its a ONE CHOICE ecosystem..
I must add.. its very common that next generation product sell more at first , but usually it cann't keep up the gap and sometimes overall they even sell less than their previous generation .
just like Movies.. so believe me for samsung executives , 40 million S4 and 5 million note 3 doesn't count as pure success. they expect so much more(just like 100 million sales claim for S4)

Did you see their earnings for the quarter? Guess not.

Samsung has always been up on sales these days, but they should keep watching their back because Nokia too is coming up

i ll buy 9005 .... coz if 4k video n mostly reviews show snapdragon version is better

It´s different than just cameraphones of Nokia. Note 3 is a beast !

Depends what you want out of a phone. Don't be so quick to judge a Nokia phon e without owning a 1020 or above. I have both a note 3 and a 1020 and both have great things going for them and I'm sure the 1520 will be even better.
32. maccess (Posts: 719; Member since: 16 Jan 2013)
if you have to chose only one device.. which one you'll keep.. note 3 or 1020?? sorry i'm just curious nothing else.. :)
40. papss (unregistered)
That's tough.. i prefer the feel of wp8 but prefer the note 3 for what it offers.
42. sergiobr (Posts: 567; Member since: 25 Feb 2013)
I have Nokia 808 and Note 3 now. I use both phones. NFC to transfer 808 photos to my Note. I prefer the android apps. My 808 beats almost all compact cameras that I know. My Note do things faster than my desktop. The Note 3 4k video record is unbeateable !
13. twens (Posts: 849; Member since: 25 Feb 2012)
To those who think the s800 is faster or better than the exynos quite fooling yourselves. Exynos with only 1.9ghz achieves 34807 and sometimes 35000 on antutu. On geek bench is scores and impressive 3000. I have it and am using it. Nothing at all makes this phone slow down. To me the exynos is still faster than the s800. If the s4 left a bad impression about exynos doesn't mean exynos is a bad soc.
you can even check on a video review by Asha on YouTube. The exynos blows away the snapdragon in every cpu intensive benchmark. The s800 only does well in gpu intensive benchmarks. And even that the Mali t628 is better than the adrino 330 only needs to be optimized.

If I earned a buck for each time somebody said this as a comeback, I could buy Apple.
I provide my name because I stand by what I say. I don't hide who I am or what I believe. Unlike most on these sites that spew things that are of limited, conjectured knowledge.
Not saying you are. Just clarifying why I do it. Didn't realize it bothered people. But I'm not here to make friends. Only to learn and also instruct

Note sold half as much as the s4? Quite impressive for a more "niche" product.
26. Jeradiah3 (Posts: 1017; Member since: 11 Feb 2010)
Im not surprised by this. The Note 3 have 2 things going great for them: The phone is being sold by multiple carriers AND The features that come with the phone are very good. I cant wait until Im among those that have the phone in my hands

I somehow got my brand new SGN3 of just 4 weeks old stolen in a club on Saturday but guess what I'm typing this with? Yes, it's another SGN3! I don't mind giving my money to Samsung on this one. Besides there isn't any phone that comes close in my opinion.
44. rizzell (Posts: 11; Member since: 31 Dec 2011)
Out of the five million GN3 shipped or sold I want to know how many was returned because of the call quality issue. I returned three myself and gave up on this phone. On most forums for this phone a lot of people is reporting bad call quality to the point of not being able to use as a phone. Sprint acknowledge a problem and addressed the problem with a update. But I'm with verizon and they refuse to acknowledge any problem and say its a manufacturer defect . I called samsung and they say its a carrier problem. Went back to my note 2 and that will be my last Samsung phone.
