Samsung did post actual profits. They didn't post units sold.

if it's units shipped and marketshare it's got to be samsung
if it's units sold and revenue it's apple
now what exactly is the bet between taco and remixfa?
just asking! i love reading both arguments from your sides.

It's who sold the most smartphones. Not shipped.

Taco, dude you might be on your way out BUT let's wait to see how many smartphones sold! Who cares how many shipped, let's see who put more phones in the hand of customers. That should be the ONLY determinant here. I still think Samsung will probably still win though. They have smartphones and feature phones. They offer such a variety of different handsets that it's going to be hard to beat that. You probably should have bet iPhone vs Galaxy line b/c that is the iPhones only competitor in Samsungs portfolio.

Galaxy vs iPhone isn't even a contest. There's two reports. One Apple wins and one they lose. However when we look at sold instead of shipped its doubtful Samsung can win.

You would be way off about it not being a contest, taco. Apple is stating in their report that iPhones sold in Q1 2012 is 37.04M, while preliminary numbers from Korea Times is reporting that Samsung sold (that's sold, not shipped) no less than 41M smartphones with a projection of up to 44M.
In any event... 37 < 41. Of course there is a margin of error, but... just doesn't look good for ya.

Here's why this was a stupid bet - Taco will never accept the results if they show Samsung sold more smartphones. If Samsung releases the numbers, he'll claim they're giving shipped, not sold. If Samsung gives the numbers as units sold, he'll say they're lying, and anyway that's not counting all the returned phones. If Steve Jobs rode down on a fiery chariot and shot lasers from his eyes to carve the words, " Samsung sold more smartphones in the most recent quarter than Apple..." in 50 foot tall letters in the side of Mount Everest - well, he might believe it then, but only because Steve Jobs said it.

I provided 2 legitimate links saying Apple won

No more legitimate than the link that says Apple won. At any rate, I'm just talking about how you will not accept any evidence contrary to your world view. Even if every analyst said Samsung won, you'd claim they're just analyst estimates and don't count. I covered your other responses to different scenarios in my first post.

You continue to call Android laggy. Yet reviewer after reviewer has said that ICS is on par with iOS as far as lag. I can tell you that I've got Gingerbread on a single core smartphone with Sense 3.5, and I'll put it up against iOS any day for lag. It's buttery smooth, zero lag unless I multitask a ton of apps.

I have a galaxy tab 7.7 with honey comb. It's LAGGY. htc X just came out and PA's review said it was laggy.

And you assume I won't honor my bet. There's no legitimacy to Samsung winning at this point.

Any lag on the OneX is from Sense, which is a memory hog. Sense is not Android. ICS on the GNex is smooth. ICS AOSP is smooth.

Actually, I just read the PA review for the OneX, and it didn't say laggy. Here are some quotes directly from the review:

"The good thing for us is that the handset is moving pretty swiftly now, with no hint of lag or choppy animations."

"For the most part, there's nothing wrong with the handset. It has a big and beautiful screen, fluid UI and pretty much every hardware or software feature that a user may need."

Fluid UI. No hint of lag.

Since you're a fan of PA reviews, then you noticed the 4S got an 8.5 rating, and the Galaxy Nexus got a 9.5.

I guess that makes you feel all warm inside. Your copycat phone got a better review.

Copycat? Wait a minute - if it is a copy, then they're just doing what Apple did with the notification bar, and slide to unlock - taking something, improving it and using it. I guess it's OK when Apple does it, huh?

No, what made me feel warm inside was showing that you were wrong about the OneX review. It clearly shows that your love of all things Apple colors your view of everything else - to the point that you can read a review that says the phone has no lag and come away with it reading the phone was laggy. If you misread that so easily, what else might you be wrong about?

As for your tablet, it's on Honeycomb. I was talking about ICS, and to a small extent Gingerbread (on my phone with a great custom rom). Your argument isn't even relevant.

if the copycat gets a better review, then technically its not a copy cat, its the champion.

You have a galaxy tab 7.7 and an ipad2 eh? wow, your parents must be loaded!

That tab has what? 3.0/3.1 on it and a low amount of ram? Yea... its a sucky tablet. lets put iOS5 on the iphone3g and see how well that runs eh?

Honeycomb isnt the best OS, even I've admitted that. Honeycomb, however runs NOTHING like 2.3x or 4.0x
ICS is butter smooth and your a fool to think otherwise. I'll put my old SGS1 with hacked ICS up against your itoys in a smooth competition.

you provided 2 links that regurgitate a story from the same source.... so you only provided 1 source.

im sure the debate will be ironed out in the next few days.. and not in your favor.

the question is? will you honor your bet and leave?

the honest answer is no.. your a child, a troll, and dishonorable.

Personal attacks show you're losing the debates. That's all you have left after the facts are layed out.

you have lost.

you found some odd article by a no name website that says there is an 11 million smartphone sales error in Apple's favor and you think that its legit.
Even if the original article was off by at bit, it wasnt off by 11 million. Thats just about a 25% swing in the opposite direction... especially since it still reports the same TOTAL sales. So samsung sold 11 million LESS smartphones and 11 million MORE flip phones??
Can you HONESTLY say you believe that? No, even i dont think your that brain dead.. and thats saying something.

You wont leave. You will go away for a few days at best and come back with a different screen name.. and then knowing you, you will eventually pop back in with your normal screen name when u think people forgot about the bet.
I give everyone the benefit of the doubt.. but over the last what.. 3 or 4 years you have been going after my heels like a toothless brain dead chiuhauha, you have proven over and over again that you are not a trustworthy person.

If I lost would I have left? Yea, I would have made a nice goodbye post and have been gone already.. something that u should have already done.

CNN is not a no name website. This article is based on Appleinsider.com. The same "no name" website I linked to

You're so delusional it's crazy. And you seem really angry to see you're about to lose.

Look at you. There's two conflicting reports and of course in your mind only the one that has Samsung winning is right.

ok, i take it back, you obviously ARE that brain dead...

So Appleinsider is a legitimate source when it's use to report Samsung wins, but is a "no name" website when it gives the 2nd report. Also CNN is a "no name" website.

DO you read these articles or just skim?

" Apple Inc. reports its iPhone sales down to the thousands. In the January to March period, it shipped 35,064,000. South Korea's Samsung may have sold 32 million, 37.5 million or 44.5 million, depending which analyst you believe"

Ok, 2 neat things you can gleam from this article.

Apple SHIPPED 35 million phones..NOT sold.
Samsung SOLD 32,37.5 or 44.5 million phones.. NOT SHIPPED.

So even if its the lowest estimate, more than likely samsung still wins. Even if only 8% of what Apple shipped hasnt been sold and is sitting on a shelf (and we know there is plenty of stock out there for the taking) that means they tied at 32 million... and thats the LOWEST estimate. And lets be honest.. its probably not the lowest estimate.. and it may not be the highest estimate. But even the middle estimate BEATS APPLE.

You LOSE. You just cant move on. Say your goodbyes and kick yourself to the curb.

In typical fashion, Taco, being obliterated by his own "proof" stops responding. Since that is how he "admits" defeat, then he knows he lost the bet.

Goodbye Taco.

this will not end until the other posts exact figures. i'd say let go of this issue and instead bet on the galaxy s3 vs iphone 5 pre orders, first day sales or first week sales!

the iphone5 will win that bet. If there is a real change to this iteration like they are saying there will be, the sales should be massive. The SGS3 sales will be huge, but there are 20 other android sets its competing with as well as iOS and WindowsPhone7/8. The iphone5 just competes with the i4s and android/wp7. It doesnt have any other high end iOS devices to split sales with. If it were an even king to king battle without the extra competition, the SGS3 would win.. but thats not reality.
I dont deal in singular device sales normally. I deal in OS vs OS. Market share is the true prize, not singular sales.
