Its like watching those cool "I am a Mac and I am a PC" ads back in the day when Apple used to be somewhat of a sincere company cuz they were short on cash and humble.
Now Rotten Apple just got SERVED!!!
Samsung absolutely does a great job at owning Apple :)

Yeah to the tune of 5 million iphone 5's sold within the first week. I'm sure Apple loves that grave. You fanboy's kill me! Apple doesn't give a rats ass about these ads, only close minded people like yourself do. Samsung has never had a 1 month wait to have your device shipped. Samsung envies Apple and even android loyalists can't argue that. Like I tell everyone, you can call Apple fans sheep or a cult all you want but your no different when you defend a company who is worth billions of dollars. Personally the gs3 is a great device and the note 2 looks awesome but these commercials will not change one of Apple's fans mind about owning the iphone 5!

Umm sorry to burst your bubble isheep, but the gs3 sold 9 million in its first sales week which i should point out was without the huge US market. It became the fastest selling gadget in history.... and they don't have a wait of a month because they can produce enough to keep up with their demand obviously. Also I'm sure Samsung would like the incredibly high profit margins that Apple has but wouldn't want to rip off consumers just look at the stats, samsung brings in 2.5 times more revenue but ends up with 7 billion less profits. Samsung pays their workers that build their products 4 times more which is probably why they aren't committing suicide.

BTW, to show you how much I could care less about a name or company. Anyone interested in the sgs3 from at&t, you can basically get it for free right now. A refurb is $99 and their offering $100 for new activations or add a line. So you pay nothing. It is refurbished but who cares. Great deal and i'm definitely looking into that!

It's refurbished. I definitely do care. If the phone works then it's a good deal, but I don't count on that.

At Best Buy you can get a GS3 for 150 bucks on contract. No bulls**t, no small print. You can get an Xperia Ion for free. The Atrix HD is fifty bucks.

But free is a whole different story and you still get the warranty. That's a great deal!

Whereby you get more refurbished phones with their own issues.

Again, if the phone works, fine. It's an excellent deal. However, I have generally learned not to trust refurbished phones and will only get one if I have no other feasible option.

"Samsung envies Apple"

What does Samsung have to be envy of Apple about? NFC? The 4" display? The LTE? The new map app? The "perfect" aluminum build quality that has dents and scurfs right before you even get it out of the box? Pffft! Please.

The target of these ads are NOT the loyal iphone fans. Those who were thinking twice to shell out a sizeable amount of money could be swayed to not buy the new iphone because they learned from these ads there's a better device out there. Obviously, you are not the target, because the first thing you said is how much Apple sold in the first week, while insulting Android followers.

Good that Apple has a huge loyal following, but admit it, it's not getting any bigger since Steve Jobs died. With the series of disappointments and bad press due to Siri and Apple maps, I know many who were really disappointed, especially non-American fellows.

US is not the only market that matters, remember that. And Samsung is known to be more successful in markets outside the US.

As a proud new owner of a SGS3 I tried using an iPhone today. It seems so small now! I have no idea how can anyone think that a 3.5" or even a 4" screen is somehow better than a 4.8" one. :)

In which case - it would be pretty stupid to wear an iPhone in those - as it might fall off.

Cmon - don't search for excuses. As long as you can operate it with the average hand - bigger is always better. :)

personally I am unhappy that apple increased the size of the iphone 5… i really liked having it be a small phone…

the screen size is nice, but u get used to a certain screen size and its fine… When i used a one x, it was great in the beginning, but since the apps were just upscaled, i feel it didnt really take advantage of the extra space very well… if all the apps were made to be different for larger screens, i think the screen difference would be more noticeable over time

my point is that apple should not have made the phone larger, as that was one of the iphones strengths in my opinion…-- i would have rather kept the same thickness as now and added one of those 4 inch screens that fits in the same dimensions

What excuses? Because you like a bigger screen doesn't mean 90% of the population likes a big ass phone in their pocket. Bigger doesn't always mean better!

And no, 90 percent of the population is inaccurate. 68 seems to be closer to the mark. ;)

A lot of people like bigger screens. Proof, the huge success of phones with 4.3+" displays. Even the Galaxy Note sold very well, and the Note 2 is expected to be even more popular.

I'm guessing about... 10% of people actually buy the iPhone for the smaller screen. The other 90% are split up between love of iOS and blind purchase because of popularity.

My friend with really little hands (and I mean little) is comfortable with her Razr with a 4.3" display and huge bezel, with an Otterbox Commuter on it as well. People just love bigger displays.

Well, yeah because iOS - you know - can't really multi-task? And because - iOS - you know - looks almost the same as it did in 2007?

Have an intel Corei7 ivy bridge PC run Windows 8.
Then have an intel Pentium 2 run Dos

Which one's gonna be faster? That's right - the Pentium 2.

Are you sure about that. Last thing I know is that the app store has games that require a fast processor to render these large 100-500mb games. Has nothing to do with multi-tasking. Multi-tasking has alot to do with RAM and software than it does the processor.

Just to let you know the A6 can run laps with Jellybean and still have plenty of power to run many tasks smoothly. So what's your point.

iOS as itself is very graphically old fashioned. Sure, those 500MB games require a fast GPU - and that's what Apple has - but when it comes to CPU raw power - nothing beats the Exynos\S4 Pro

But Samsung has more cores... MORE!!

Specs are nice for bragging, but the experience is everything. iOS has had the same reliable experience, which some may not like, if you don't get an Android phone.

LOL xD comparing to DOS. You may be able to fool ppl that dont know much about OSes but since I know a thing or 2 about that, let me tell you how irrelevant your comparison is.

Linux is one of the OS that consumes the least amount of resources and will even run just fine on an oldschool 486 with 128mb of RAM. The opensource linux community prides themselves of not needing a powerhouse to run this OS (hence the reason Google is all linux including the Android kernel.

Windows 7 needs a powerhouse computer because its prone to so many attacks worldwide that the encryption is ridicoulously complex, hence the boot time to make sure everything is secure prior to using. The constant updates and hotfixes bog it down more and more.

iOS is fast not because of its lack of features, but because its closed wall of garden.

Please do yourself a favor and actually borrow/use an apple product and get fully acquainted with it before comparing it to DOS. I'll gladly respect a fair comparison when backed by personal experience instead of blind bashing.

I used to own an iPhone 4 for 2 years until a few days ago.

Windows 7 is much slower than Linux mostly because it needs to support many different hardware combinations.

iOS is slightly faster than Android because it's less graphically intensive and has no real multi-tasking.

My comparison stands.

posted on 27 Sep 2012, 00:45

53. 305Bucko (Posts: 506; Member since: 07 Aug 2011)

Yep, windows IS in fact slower due to the much needed support of multiple hardware combinations :) hence the reason Android needs more powerful hardware and iOS runs efficiently smooth with no need for tons of ram and quad cores. (you proved my point)

iOS is less graphic intensive??? iOS easily produces more fps than Android thus the reason Project Butter was initiated.

Your comparison fails. Please dont make Android look bad. It really is a great opensource OS, dont destroy it with poor comparisons

L-A-M-E ads.
Especially the NFC one. Jee, Nokia had NFC since C7 (almost 3 years now).
OK, the GSIII is super and all (I agree), but Samsung really needs a new manager in promotion department.
They react like they are desperate, although they are not!
