We've seen Kyocera try and fail. We've seen Sony try and fail. If patent filings come to fruition, it appears Samsung has decided it wants to join the dual-screen tablet party and give another shot to what seems to be a doomed concept from the start...

I feel the dual screens would work if once I open it I do not have a live running thru the middle

with samsungs nearly bezel free tech it would be implimented better at least. throw in a 5250 to handle both screens and the rest is up to the software side to make it work. the keyocera was cheap and not very powerful. would it catch on if Samsung put some power behind it? maybe.. but it would at least have a better chance.

I guess samsung's gonna come in with the Foldable AMOLED tech, single screen. In that case, its a huge win. Folding a 10 inch screen is something every tablet user would like..

What hurt the Kyocera was the software was buggy and the phone was ugly. Good concept though. Worked for Nintendo.

If apple submitted a patent like this, i know it will be a popular device. Just look how iPad tablet became popular knowing that tablet technology was introduced years ago.

You've heard of the Galaxy Note and the rumored Galaxy Journal and maybe Galaxy Diary.
Call this the Galaxy Blackbook (Beam).
Next, produce this in 7in, 8in and 10in variants with different pricepoints.
Then, wait for Amazon to market the exact same thing at half the price on a custom version of your OS.
TADA! Samsung, you've just invented a new market segment again!
