Samsung makes fun of Apple fans in new ad
0. phoneArena 22 Nov 2011, 23:28 posted on
A new 60 second spot by Samsung depicts Apple fans as being sheep, something that Android users have accused them of being; the ad is supposed to show a line of Apple iPhone users waiting for the iPhone 4S, discussing the phone's sketchy battery life and the lack of a new hardware design...

Not really, people do get in line to buy the iphone :-)

Wow, 11 thumbs down - my new record....I guess the truth hurts...

Sorry, biophone. The ad does strike pretty close to truth. A lot-and I mean a lot- of iFanboys are worse than depicted in the ad. They will come in and demand an iPhone. When informed there are alternatives to it, they are often surprised, yet half the time will outright refuse to lay their eyes on those alternatives. Had a lady go from a Nexus S to an iPhone, breaking her contract because she absolutely had to have an iPhone 4S. Not that she disliked Android, and had in fact liked the Evo she had previous to the Nexus. She just HAD to have an iPhone. Why? She couldn't even give a goddamn reason, other than "I originally had an iPhone." Nothing else. Just "it's familiar." Total. f**king. Sheep.
Not to mention she blamed me when just about everything related to the sale went wrong. She came in without any knowledge of her boyfriend's account information that she was jumping off of, entered her social security number incorrectly (triggering a manual credit review by AT&T) and then had an issue using her credit card (which she didn't even f**king bring with her!) Because she was past due on a payment that she wasn't even f**king aware of. Great job being responsible, bitch!
On the other hand, considering what a bitch she was otherwise, the iPhone was probably inconsequential.

It's called freedom of speech in advertising..... i'm guessing a lawsuit from apple is gonna follow again....

That is a funny spot and I use both Android and Apple. It's a phone, so laugh! Babies are being eaten by dingos in Australia. That is serious.

Wow, so some people on here believe a product to be better just because it sells more? Are you (those people) serious? What kind of education did you get to come to that conclusion?
Remember Sega vs Nintendo? Master System vs 8-bit NES? NES won, but SEGA had a better system. Nowadays, if a company has an ok product and great advertising, selling will get done.
In other news....I cannot wait to activate my RAZR tonight.

That was a very funny commercial. I enjoyed that.
56. networkdood (Posts: 6274; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
What is wrong with the commercial? It is a very valid commercial. Most Americans call their iphone 4/4S a 4G phone, lol. People do like a larger screen. Commercial was well done, and not over done. If you want to sell and your competitor is beating you out, you must point out what is better on your product as compared to your competitor\'s product....ala AT&T vs Verizon.
Smart commercial....again, people do wait in lines to get an iphone....but not smart people....

lol...that wasnt an insult to apple fans..it was an insult to apple...samsung is been charged of copying apple n apple wants samsung parts to build thr phones...phonearena is a hardcore apple fan n by my observations phonearena dosent lose a single chance thy gets to taint samsung...cheers to samsung

This is smart advertising. Samsung did a very nice job. and its just stating facts like.
4g, and bigger screen.
its like those iPhone commercials that say "if you don't have an iPhone"
And honestly both of the commercials do what they are meant to do. They definitively make me think a little more and help me lean on way over the other. Both are neat advertising and its funny.

Wow! Some eleven or so people joined together and gave most of the posts ten or more dislikes. Some very sad and frustrated people...
72. wassup (Posts: 565; Member since: 23 Jun 2011)
like appleconspiracy said... there are some siriously sad apple fans that got annoyed because this ad spoke the truth and are giving every pro android post 11 thumbs downs.....
isn't it funny that almost every post got exactly 11 dislikes? multi-account, or gang up?
90. rendHELL (Posts: 304; Member since: 09 Nov 2011)

Yeah some people need to get a life. HAhaha. But in the commercial, I like how every one looks like total hipsters... ..
74. AppleConspiracy (Posts: 630; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Yes, hipsters, the snobs that are eager to say to everyone how they are so culturaly and intelectually superior, with good taste in design, symbolized in Apple paradigm. However, to make fun of them isn't the coolest thing either, what's more, it's just an indicator how Apple dominates everything, whether it is parodied or truly celebrated.

Yea, I tried a Samsung Galaxy S2 and the GPS didn't even work... Maybe all the other people who bought a Sam GS2 didn't see the Apple iphone line either and if they did they got in it to get a phone that works...
I moved from iphone4 to Sam GS2 cause the screen was bigger but then... whoa!!! no GPS... What!!! Then I changed to Moto Atrix 2 and love it - at least it works and the GPS works and everything else and faster than iphone 4 and bigger screen, and dual core processor.
Anyhow, I liked the Samsung except for the GPS not working - which to me is a useless smartphone... People do use that stuff Samsung... Oh yea when I went back to the AT&T store and told the Reps they acted like they knew that little trade secret all along and laughed and said oh yea that is one of Samsung's weaknesses... on different Samsung models...

Wow, a sane iphone user....that makes two - you and my wife....
79. networkdood (Posts: 6274; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Wow, I had to posts, including:
'Not really, people do get in line to buy the iphone :-)'
the truth hurt, huh
Iphone users sure are an uptight lot....it is only a commercial people....do not get your panties in an uproar.
83. remixfa (Posts: 13935; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
bahahah.. i love it.. everyone is thumbing down everyone, so u cant read a darn thing on the thread from low ratings. :)
85. hepresearch (unregistered)
What is most funny here... the majority of comments that are now non-viewable due to low rating are pro-Samsung, while the majority of comments that are still viewable are pro-Apple. Very entertaining indeed.
87. saspcguy (Posts: 17; Member since: 02 Aug 2011)
It's heartwarming to see so many people who own teensy, heavy, pugly, non-4G phones banding together to silence their detractors. Once upon a time, Apple was the spandex-clad athlete tossing a hammer at Big Brother on the telescreen. Now they're the identical masses sitting on the benches in front of the same screen. Now, please harrumph, click the little downward thumb, and make the scary man go away.
88. hepresearch (unregistered)
I would gladly come running down the aisle, toward the screen, with a chair hoisted over my shoulder... but it seems that the chairs here are now securely bolted into the floor...
93. hepresearch (unregistered)
shoot! my spandex does not fit any more... and hammers are now illegal to own here in Apple-world...
