Samsung intends to fight Apple's product ban request against the Galaxy S III in the US

0. phoneArena 07 Jun 2012, 09:13 posted on

Samsung plans to "demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S III is innovative and distinctive", which it is to do before June 21, when the Galaxy S III is supposed to hit shelves on most major US carriers. This will give its sales a head start against Apple's next iPhone, whenever it launches this year, and if Cupertino succeeds with the preliminary ban, things can get ugly, considering how long these lawsuits take to be resolved...

no, Taco thinks living with his mom is considered a full time job, because his mom pays him to stay locked up in his basement and not embarrass her in public
For a real job, he would need a degree, and since he never ever came out of his basement, other than to go wait in lines, he wouldn't have gone to grade school, let alone Uni.
So, he cannot get a job, don't blame the poor iShiip, although it is his fault.

Precisely! So many Android folks try to compare Apple to a religion or a cult...

The definition of a religion is an organization that espouses a particular set of moral beliefs, to which its adherents generally agree on and seek to comply with. A cult is simply a religion that has total adherency below 500,000, and whose set of moral beliefs are considered controversial and/or non-mainstream.

As such, Apple definitely fails to qualify as a cult... probably way more than 500,000 strict 'adherents'. However, Apple does not appear to espouse any set of moral beliefs, but instead dictates a set of technological philosophies and business practices. More accurately, the definition of a "god" applies to Apple... an entity, real or fictional, who defines a set of truths, whether morally symbolic or literal, upon which a religion or cult bases its espoused morals for adherents to follow.

Android folks are not accurate in comparing Apple with a religion or cult. It is more accurate to compare Apple to a "god" for those who "worship" it. After all, Apple has taught us many great lessons about life, such as "good artists copy... great artists steal", and "copy and/or steal with pride", and "litigate the snot out of your enemies", and "he who has the gold makes the rules", and "buying someone else's innovation is not as good as stealing it from them first", and "anyone else's innovation is yours when you are the only one legally allowed to innovate"... etc., etc.

Tell that to all the folks who preordered the SGS3 in record numbers... largest number of preorders for any single mobile phone in history... are they losing nothing? They already paid for something that they know they want, and here you are, telling them that Apple is saving their ignorant soul-less souls from buying a terrible device... no wonder they are upset. Apple may yet succeed in ripping their preordered SGS3's from their hands before they ever arrive. "Yeah, Apple just saved you from being stupid, so don't get all emotional now..." Really? Apple doing this makes me, an SGS3 preorder customer, lose nothing? Not that I am a preorder customer, but just try putting yourself in their shoes for a moment before you type out idealistic feel-good lets-all-get-along garbage...

they will still get their device so will not loose.. that's the risk of preordering.. you are ordering a device not released yet... lost of things can happen. read the fine print...

Well, unless you are referring to the illegal "black-market", I do not see how I could ever obtain something I ordered, whether before or after market release, if it can never pass through customs legally. If you are trying to tell me that there is always a way to illegally get a phone that cannot legally enter the US, if I have enough money or savvy, then that is not helpful to me, as I always much prefer to do things legally, and really refuse to do anything I know to be illegal. You appear to not understand what has been said before.

Let me put it this way... if someone, say Samsung, managed to get the iPhone 5 blocked from import into the US, then would you not be incredibly unhappy for not being able to obtain one legally because every one that you ordered (assuming you decided to order an iPhone 5) would get held up at customs indefinitely, and Apple stores could not carry them when they were supposed to be released, or ever for that matter? If you say that it wouldn't, then you are either a) lying, or b) willing to go illegal routes for things that you really want.

I really don't like the idea of anyone's stuff getting banned or blocked indefinitely, and that includes Apple products... but it is Apple and Microsoft who have resorted to (successful) bans thus far, and although it upsets me to see the clearly-biased courts favoring one team over the other, I have to accept what happens because I will not try to circumvent the legal system in order to get something I like that happens to now be illegal to obtain in the US thanks to some stupid ban.

This is starting to get old. Damn Apple, just chill with this crap. While you had a point with the first Galaxy phone and the first Touchwiz, you do not have one anymore. Lets stop this crap and move on to other things. All of this money these guys are waisting could be used for marketing or paying a decent dividend to stock holders.
