Samsung announced a new model, bearing the name SGH-i780. Its design seriously reminds the Blackjack due to the full QWERTY keyboard on the front. But what is new is the touch-screen navigation, which logically comes with the Windows Mobile 6 Professional edition. An interesting addition is the unique d-pad navigation system of the phone, which controls the on-screen pointer, similar to the laptops sensor navigation. Other features are the WiFi and the built-in GPS, which come as typical advantages for phones of this class. Due to the European HSDPA band the phone remains unsuitable for the North-American market. The European release date of the phone is scheduled for the beginning of 2008 in Sweden.

Too bad it isn't VGA, or this would be one hell of a phone. I can't imagine QVGA will make the on-screen pointer worthwhile.
