"Too proud", Samsung trying to be the top by 2016? ROFL.
I'm still sticking with Amazon, or Xbox Music.. who wants a copycat to rule over your digital contents?

If anyone can actually pull it off in the mobile space at this time, its definitely Samsung and a little competition to Apple would only do the customers some good :)

SS of course wants to be in Apple's position and who don't? But SS weakest department is software. Just compare S-Voice to Siri and especially to Google Voice search to see that.

So it's a tough job for SS, this is mobile ecosystem war and even MS is too late let alone SS.

you are right about the software but samsung has been around longer than ms. a relatively small hiccup actually. they have proved to be capable and all they need is more work and dedication

They need to hire some of the those people from XDA to get them started in there software business, we don't need crap we need perfection from Samsung.

This should be great fun, watching Sammy and Apple tussle it out. Another piece of news will be when Apple moves its chip business to a contract foundry. Anyone care to make a prediction when that will be?

Interesting... Another attempt from samsung to be a dominant player in another industry. IMO, they are extremely competitive. Let's see what they can bring with the resources at their disposal.

If Samsung builds large enough media store, I think it could fork Android eventually..hmm..

Not a good thing. Google should break away from the stupid copycat company as soon as possible.

well, maybe it could force google to step up their game. anyways, i still root for both google and samsung.

Well considering Samsung is 40% of Android market share Google will be a fool to let them go... How many of those 1.3 million activations a day do you think is android... Samsung estimates to sold 50million devices last quarter how many do you think was android... When you see android numbers rising who do you think is the majority number behind that... My guess it's Samsung so it will be foolish of Google to even consider getting rid of Samsung... Remember Google make there money of ads the more android out there the More money they make... Ps everyone copies everyone... Just look at the recent HTC phones and see how they look lumias... Look at ios and some of its features it copied from android and others... There is no one that that is copycat free... You are always going to be copying someone whether it's through look or by patents.

Cheap plastic hardware will never be good enough to beat premium hardware and software. Am saying IOS=android (they're both awesome) but
IOS > touchwized (raped) android. I have been using using cm10 on my S3 for a week and I luv stock android.

20. lzsbleach posted on 27 Sep 2012, 08:18

People like you always seem to complain about the plastic on Samsung devices, I don't really get why because 2 to 1 your going to have your phone in some type of phone case which is going to change the look and feel. That's like having a bad ass chick and shes always covered up like shes from the middles east, and how is the hardware cheap when apple uses some of the hardware made by Samsung.

22. taz89 posted on 27 Sep 2012, 09:26

Guess what I would bet majority of those who by a tw phone love you it... Stock just doesn't provide some of the features that dating does... Again what may be rubbish to the tech enthusiasts are enjoyed by millions of normal consumers... Who do you think Samsung wants to sell to the larger the broad consumers or the minority of people who like to root etc... Not disagreeing with you that stock isn't good its why I use nova launcher to get the stock home look but I love the camera on the s3 and it's features compared to the limited camera of Android... Also love some features like direct call, flip to mute etc etc.. Yes some are gimmicks but some actually come very useful when phones start to get big

Hmmm. Future could be anything. Wait and watch.

samsung is more like becoming an apple company as years go by, a similar digital music provider like itunes, s-voice(siri), s-dock(mac osx dock), touchwiz(ios). if only their bada os would be a hit, i'm sure they would ditch android and use their in-house os
