Ok I admit, I underestimated the device.
10 million is way cool.
Lets see what the successor is capable of.

All I can say is, my hands aren't getting any bigger..... and no matter how much adevertising and units it sells .....my hands are still gonna remain the same size....people just really believe that bigger is better and its a sad case In my opinion................4.5 inches is where I draw the line for smartphones.....period

I like bigger smartphones ONLY if there is some kind of incentive to justify the screen size. Samsung did the right and smart move in creating the S Pen with its own apps (that are actually USEFUL) to target both students and business professionals. I can definitely see myself scribbling down notes in one of my long lectures, or using the S Pen in meetings to secretly play single-tap games haha.

Okay, to answer the question in the article's last paragraph, let's see:

as much as I would love to have my XOOM as a 'daily driver' I know it's way too big and might cause just a tad bit of discomfort, especially since I definitely have to hold it with two hands; my iPhone 4S on the other hand is way too small and only requires my pinky to fully operate; and, while I really like my Rezound (got really lucky, no connectivity issues and staying on GB), it's still a bit small for my taste and my mAndroid hands. Therefore, to answer the question at hand, I would definitely want the G-Note 2 on VZW and would be willing to even buy at full retail.

Im glad that this phone isnt just designed for big men like me (6'7" 240lbs). its designed for everyone and the specs, at the time, was competitive. Now that the Note II is coming in about 2 weeks, this should be considered "The year of the Phablet" because both LG and HTC are trying to plant their seeds into the new Phablet market

Its good to see Samsung take a financial risk with this phone. its definitely paying off.

I love this phone, have no regret with this phone However something I like galaxy Note2 offer that original Note not offer is quad core and 2gb...... JB will fix the lag and bammmm I have more truth laptop in my pocket.

This is pda territory and that is something I am heavily interested in as I love my 4.3 inch phone but wish it had more pda functionality and the ability to make phone calls. Not to mention just the extra screen space for other things. I still think the software for it needs a nice kick in the boot to increase its ability but overall, I love the bigger sizes. Saves me trying to get a 7 inch tablet. A phablet just might be my next device.

As a person who left Verizon after being a long time customer just to get a Note and jumping on to AT&T for one, bring on Note 2, cause i'll pay the price if samsung does it right! I can't go back to less then 5'' screens now, its just too "inconvienent"

Haters for whatever reasons can enjoy their narrow minded lifestyles with their 4'' screens, the rest of us have moved onto something greater and bigger then you can imagine.

As for the whiners about "not being able to pocket a Note" Maybe if you didn't wear tight ass emo jeans and or butt tight spandex outfits, you could actually pocket a Note but you have other issues beyond that for wearing that type of clothing anyway....
