Hey, I love Android and SS is doing great but I heard that 35 millions of 4S were sold in 1Q alone?

37000000. Samsung is a strong force in the tech world, but apple is just as strong, despite the lawsuits both companies do just fine. When the iPhone comes out it'll out sell the gs3 then the gs4 will outsell the iPhone. Who wins? The consumer... I have the 4S, and the blue gs3 and sure as hell will be getting the new iPhone. Best of both worlds buddy.

I disagree about next iPhone sales, I think it will be weak: it does not have a compelling selling point.
- 4" screen?
- New map?
- improved Siri?
Maybe Apple has something else so lets see.

I agree, except the iZOMBIES will buy it, no matter what - they will get a giggly over 4G LTE and a 4 inch, acting like it was never done before and telling us how innovative a certain fruity company.

Samsung wins when S3 sells well, Samsung wins too when iPhone4 and 4s sell well.
Damn you Samsung, how come you get both way!!
33. hung2900 (Posts: 793; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Fail. 37m iphones were sold in the 1st quater after 4s released, but that including iphone 3gs, 4 and 4s.
2. bobfreking55 (Posts: 866; Member since: 15 Jul 2011)
wait for me!! I still haven't bought one!
Great job Samsung! Suck on this Apple, you can't wipe out true competition with lawsuits and banning.
30. Lift_Off (Posts: 152; Member since: 04 Apr 2012)
ya apple! suck on 37 million iphones sold from quarter 1! what a fail!
34. hung2900 (Posts: 793; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
50-55m galaxy phones sold from quarter 2! What a fail!
37. xtian1103 (Posts: 357; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
it's not galaxy line alone, it's all samsung phone arsenal including wp and bada. in asia maybe you haven't heard of those cheap samsung galaxy a,b,c,x,y,z, ace, duo, duo s,duo mini, champ, corby, corby 2 which sells like hotcake for obvious reasons. you're just kidding yourself if those figures that you said were all high end galaxy phones. besides everything were all estimates. estimates my friend is synonymous for samsung sales. now name from any of those galaxy s,s2,note that sold better than what iphone 4s have sold? the highly touted galaxy nexus which you all worship last december... what happened now to the sales?

5. DocOaK17 (Posts: 16; Member since: 12 Jul 2012)
And how does that benefit me. Or my choice to buy a smartphone.
6. Doakie (Posts: 1233; Member since: 06 May 2009)
It means there will be less demand for whatever iDevice you've got a boner for... Now buzz off and go read some iPhone blog.
19. DocOaK17 (Posts: 16; Member since: 12 Jul 2012)
yo doakie, pick up the phone.
Anyways whats up, i wasn't talkin about apple here. I meant was saying that apple and samsung both sell huge amount of phones and because they're selling doesn't mean that everybody has to buy em.
Its like this when give a negative comment about apple people assume i m an S-SHEEP. And when i give negative comment about samsung people assume that i am an iSHEEP.
My point is that samsung selling well because people thing you have to buy samsung if dont want an apple product.
And records doesnt mean a thing to me nor the selling amount. But it becomes a part of the bragging rights.

This is truly a great feat for Samsung, but we can now say for certain that the 9 million pre-orders was pretty much a lie to create buzz and high demand. All I'm waiting to read now is whether those 10 million were sales to carriers or customers, not that it makes a difference...that much.
32. xtian1103 (Posts: 357; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
i almost forgot about that 9 million pre orders. so to sum it up, since the pre orders last may, it only sold 1 million phones? btw ever since samsung has been reporting estimates. why is it so hard for them to announce the "actual end user sales?"
35. hung2900 (Posts: 793; Member since: 02 Mar 2012)
Preorders from carriers only. 1 month ws the time for SS to produce and ship to carriers,
. Do you remember the article that sS underestimated the demand for s3 and faced the shortage of production?

I love S3 has the best components inside and plastic chasis is light weight and easy to use, definitely needed a case for slippery body.

Wow Congrats Samsung. The SIII is definitely the best phone on the market.

Androids, transform an roll out!!!
Galaxy SIII in my hands since launch date in Portugal :)
12. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5589; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
yeah, i see these in the wild A LOT and iPhone users that i thought would have to have their arm twisted into switching are getting these things. i wouldn't say the SIII was the successor we hoped it to be from the SII but it's definitely the best right now. nothing has really seemed really "next-gen" next to my Razr until i compared it to the SIII. it makes me anticipate the Razr HD even more than before.

20 million is likely imminent, in our place here many mobile shops are selling samsung phones including galaxy s3. My boss just bought s3 last week, I was given a chance to use it. It's really light and fast. I'm sure apple will find ways to stop selling this new fastest selling gadget, sad to say it's too late now, 10 million+ users have it. And still counting especially olympic is nearing...

Samsung is now even pressured to produce the best phone ever in s4 next year. I wonder what the specs could be! But i have to pass for s4 since im on a 2yr contract. And when it's up, it will be the s5 already!
16. darkkjedii (Posts: 11010; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Good job Sammy keep churning out great products.

Still got 18 more months till my Galaxy S2 contract ends...just in time for Galaxy S4!
18. RORYREVOLUTION (Posts: 2962; Member since: 12 Jan 2010)
Best phone ever by far and with the news of JB rolling out within the next month or 2, it'll make this device just that much better than it already is.

but there is still more..... now imagine rooting this phone
changing the kernels, this will run at 1.8 cpu, and also
changing the voltage control, and geting rid of all
those bloatwares which will release around 100mb
40. networkdood (Posts: 6267; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
you can root it now and use Titanium Backup to delete the bloatware.
41. networkdood (Posts: 6267; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
cannot do anything with the kernel until you get the BL unlocked or buy a non-U.S. version.

It came as no surprise to me that this would happen. But, the bigger, richer, and more powerful Samsung gets, the higher the odds are of them becoming the next Apple. Don't forget Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy when Steve came back to rescue it. Samsung is everywhere now. They completely dominated the television market, and are now sweeping the phone market as well. I feel that (even though I hope not) companies like HTC, Blackberry, Palm, etc, might eventually just quit making phones because they wouldn't be able to keep up. Apple, and Samsung are the reigning kings, but the bigger they get, the greedier they will become. In fact, the only thing that stops Samsung from turning into Apple is the fact that the software they run is made by who? That's right, Google.
Google is the true hero fighting for innovation.
