Samsung does it again, making fun of those waiting on line for the Apple iPhone 5
0. phoneArena posted on 19 Sep 2012, 13:33
Samsung has released a new television ad that not only makes fun of the Apple iPhone 5 and its features, but also hints that the Apple iPhone 5 is the phone for your parents; the ad shows that many of the iPhone's new features, such as a larger screen and LTE coverage, are nothing new for Samsung Galaxy S III users...

yesterday in a train I just switched full battery with my SGS2 after extensive use and an iPhone girl had to plug her charger....luckily and exceptionally there was an electric socket :)
iPhone just can not be used as a camera....dead in a few hours with no options....maybe 2 iPhones in a pocket? :)

Apple doesn't need to do it, though. When you are on top, you don't care what the losers behind you are doing. Sammy needs to keep making some money to pay Apple.

I know! Apple hasn't even taken the time to make commercials firing back at Samsung!
121. 305Bucko posted on 19 Sep 2012, 23:30 7
Just like Microsoft never took the time to fire back at all the:
"Hi im a Mac/ and Im a PC" commercials
Sometimes its best to shut up and not draw more attention to an "Im callin you out" commercial

Because they only had time to sue. :)
128. tedkord posted on 20 Sep 2012, 02:27 3
They don't care so much that they need to sue everyone in creation to ban competing phones.
Oh and they're not on top. Samsung is on top, number one smartphone manufacturer in the world with most smartphones sold. And android is on top with roughly two thirds market share.

Love it. I really enjoy these teasing ribbings companies give each other in advertisements. Keep this stuff up, work hard in the R&D labs, and stay out of the courtrooms!

isn't Galaxy Player and S Voice is clearly copy of iPod touch and Siri? Idc who created those in 1990. Everyone copied Apple but now more succesfull than him.
Nice ad. Best device.

Voice Talk now S Voice existed in the S2 and S2 released 6 months before the 4S.
2012 iPod Nano looks just like 2007 Samsung YP-P2 mp3 players.
31. Seymur (unregistered) posted on 19 Sep 2012, 14:49 2
I use S2 and I'm not talking about Voice Talk. I'm not talking about Android. But Samsungs INNOVATIONS.
Give me thumbs down fandroids. Apple sucks but Samsung copies. If you can't see reality, you suck too.
99. illxander posted on 19 Sep 2012, 20:46 3
You do realize that Apple didn't MAKE Siri, They bought the company that did and put it in the 4s. This is why its named Siri (The actual innovator's assistants name or some such thing) which is why it isn't named something bland like IVoice or something esle vanilla. If you can buy innovation then they are rocking out with all the lte companies they snatched up to get those lte innovations.

Apple had Voice Control before any Android phone could use voice commands. June 19, 2009, to be exact.
53. THETECHTEAM posted on 19 Sep 2012, 16:16 8
Actually Android had a way for you to do what siri does apple just took it to another level and created a whole personal assistant. Thank you very much. The old Android had google voice over a year ago before siri was even thought of
58. Hemlocke (unregistered) posted on 19 Sep 2012, 16:36 0

72. -box- posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:19 6

77. protozeloz posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:37 5
oh please, that excuse for voice control? sorry but it was barely relevant, Vingo could send text, read messages, get directions, call people and many other features
112. Hemlocke (unregistered) posted on 19 Sep 2012, 22:02 1
Yes, it was "barely relevant." I see now that it is only relevant in those few instances where an Android OEM did it first. Tell me again what Android device has outsold that "barely relevant" iPhone 3Gs?
115. OSFantasma posted on 19 Sep 2012, 22:40 2
ok i get you want to give your money to apple. just do it and stay out. we already know.... I for one have many options and really don't give a damn if apple outsells every company. I get what i know works for me as for some it seem they get what the trend speaks, but please don't look at a company and follow it blindly and believe they are the best because they outsell every other company that also innovates.. as for apple please they should have added nfc all other companies are doing but i guess they thought that if they did what other companies were doing they might look like the last boat to dock on the tech...(imo).. anyway apple fail.... android ftw also sony samsung htc acer etc ftw OHA ftw... lol just had to add the last part...
116. GeekMovement posted on 19 Sep 2012, 22:59 0
You realize that apple didn't innovate, so now you look at their marketing numbers?
Pathetic. You are very low and very desperate to defend apple any way you can.
137. protozeloz posted on 20 Sep 2012, 07:19 0
for starters the Droid if I'm not mistaken, how many actually good artist beat Justin B in tickets? you said it as if that matters so much to tell apart features apple voice controls on the 3GS couldn't do anything most smartphones did
80. letgomyeggroll posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:41 2
Samsung did not copy what Apple did with IPhone or IPod. It's more like Apple copy a lot of products. Before iPod, MP3 players have been around before into portable devices. Palm Pilot is one of the first who created touch screen, or at least made more useful. Tablet came around before even IPods. When Dell, HP, and etc back than came out with tablets, were mainly for industrial or commerical use. The touchscreen and tablets before was a head of its time where the hardware were still developing and too large. You see here is the big picture here. All of Apple's devices are engineered and created by other manufactures. Apple is just smart about not doing the hard work, nor the legal stuff. That is why they have the best lawyers and marketing team. You can bring it all up to court if you want for patents, but if you look at the history, it tell the truth of it all

The term PDA was first used on January 7, 1992 by Apple Computer CEO John Sculley at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, referring to the Apple Newton.

Samsung just angry because no one will wait in line for their plastic devices. No one has a more loyal, dedicated fan base as Apple. Maybe, they should start offering the same level of customer care, and built quality, and maybe then, will get the same level of adoration they so badly desire.
****P.S. before you start to spew stupidity I'm rocking Galaxy Nexus 4.1, but the truth will set you free.

I find Samsung's latest advertisements to be very misconstrued and misleading. I'm sorry but things like ShareShot just aren't going to happen in everyday life. I've owned the SGIII, have friends that have it, and it never came up. I don't even think they knew how to use it....or cared.
41. wassup posted on 19 Sep 2012, 15:30 3
Maybe you have stupid friends? I use share shot, direct call, s-beam, allshare cast, smart stay and NFC the most. The looks I get from ishiip when I whip out my phone to pay for stuff... priceless!
I like these ads. They show the iShiip how dumb they look whilst waiting in line for something they can get just a couple of days later without waiting.
70. E.N. posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:12 0
My friends are actually pretty intelligent when it comes to things that are actually important...like their careers, but when it comes to phones, like the majority of smartphone buyers, you're right. And that's exactly my point, most people don't care enough to learn how to use it. Remember we represent only a small minority of smartphone users, so just because you use it and probably convinced your friends to as well, doesn't mean its going to be widely adopted like they portray in their commercials.
The only ones I used are smart stay and direct call. I refused to be the guy to show everyone how to use their own phones saying "Look, its easy! Try it!" especially when they're never going to use it again. PASS
48. protozeloz posted on 19 Sep 2012, 15:47 0
I love share shot! you just have t tell people that, but hey you probably aret the party picture guy or the event picture guy. and honestly I hate taking the same pictures 3 times with 3 phones just because 3 people want them....
69. E.N. posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:00 1
I just think it's a little misleading. I've used those features before to try it out and it requires a deal of coordination. CNET likes the features but did say that "setting a session up was confusing, and it wasn't intuitively clear how I could get back into a Share Shot session once I left." Its one of those features that you're not going to use unless you're determined to use it.
83. protozeloz posted on 19 Sep 2012, 17:58 0
well some fixes may come to make the experience better, but the Idea is nice, but honestly some of apple "intuitive" things are quite forced into people
