Galaxy S XI with holographic video downloads and a foldable 10 inch becomes 50 inch Galaxy Note X with mind control, can see where this is going. My old man will finally transition to 3G and be getting my trusty Nokia N80 to finally replace his beloved but long dead Nokia 8210 by this time :)

It does not matter how much money China throws at it, the EU will probably win as the US will most likely not utilize a technology that was homegrown versioned from China. Sucks but true.

Well, 2020 is a ways off. I the meantime, I'm sure we'll see LTE advanced here, and the carriers will insist on calling it 5g.

10% of 10 Gbps is still faster then most people have in their home for wired internet. LTE-Advanced which will be rolling out soon has a theoretical limit of 1Gbps so far I think...

2020 is kind of long no? If Samsung really wants to take it to the haters they should go for something like 2016, more coverage/towers than LTE, exclusive to Samsung products. Of course this isn't feasible on their own. But if they take those billions in marketing and put it into building towers instead and team up Google and Intel they might be able to pull off something that ambitious.
