Samsung and HTC shares get battered to new lows on flagship smartphone slowdown

0. phoneArena 08 Jul 2013, 02:10 posted on

Analysts, who are always clever after the fact, already said that the high-end segment has hit the brick wall of market saturation, and the tepid upgrade that the Galaxy S4 is likely won't excite consumers to break their contracts, not to mention that carriers are making it harder and harder to get a new handset, so as to avoid doling out subsidies...

If you write 'In My Opinion' than actually care to give an 'OPINION'. Simply writing 'Nokia will be King' without any backing suggests you are making a fanboy comment and by 'IMO' suggests you don't wanna be blamed for it.

BTW, by your logic even I mentioned '[I] THINK SO'

when one says NOKIA will become king, there is no need to substantiate your words.
but its not the case with sony.

anyways i also own sony phone,i like sony to grow but next to nokia:)

So you are saying, when one says 'Nokia will be the king' he does not need to provide any reason for his argument. But when one makes the same statement towards Sony one will have to ?!

Are you actually reading your comment before posting ?

'nuff said !

Nokia barely have any cash left, they are depending on a OS that is 3rd and far behind iOS, and their phones aren't greatly differentiated from other WPs, so you saying Nokia is going to be king is one hell of a joke. Thanks for the laugh.

is android no.1 from day one?

No. But they did beat the no.1 (ios) in mere 2 years of its inception.

Also, look at Windows little line below (2nd graph) its losing market share ever since it arrived on mobile platform. It currently holds only 3%.

No but it took just 2 years for it to climb to no.1, much faster than what WP is doing. WP has been around for 3years now and it's still nowhere near iOS nevermind Android.

HTC One's daylight photos are comparable to that of Galaxy S and iPhone 4. Talk about being perfect.

Record $8.5billion profit and 20million GS4s sold. Anybody who thinks Sony or Nokia have a chance are simply deluded, neither company can manage to sell that many of one model in 5months.

even samsung was not able to sell that many when Nokia was king :D
but see the Change ?
like this Sony and Nokia(again) will change this too....

The difference is that even in their best day, Nokia didn't have the sort of capacity and HW control Samsung has, you have to put things into perspective. Nokia became a sloth, while Samsung are continuing to try find new sources of revenue, spending billions in R&D.

you forgot sammy is falling little by little and S4 is a so-so success.
you can see how sony destroying sammy outside US, something like this:
"Sony Mobile attracts ex-Samsung owners to drive UK market share"
keep those $8.5B records, coz that will be there last
hahahaha

How is the S4 a so-so success??? It has sold OVER 20million units in 2months, that's better than the S3 and ANY OTHER Android EVER sold.

Hahahah! Sony destroying Samsung? Don't make me laugh. So Sony got a few Samsung users, what's your point? I bet there are plenty Sony, Htc, Apple etc... Users jumping to Samsung, hence why Samsung are the number 1 smartphone maker. Samsungs profits will continue to grow thanks to their specs, great update support, marketing, bargaining power and R&D.

Love to see those fanboys fight, even within android...

the articles says clearly and obviously that consumers tired to buy the high end overpriced device, and now it mid range war time, and I love to see the comparison between moto x, Huawei ascent p6, and HTC ONE mini... These three midrange fight attract my attention... Together with non android device like lumia 720, bb q5, and the 4 inch cheap cheap iPhone...

take note phonearena, I WANT you to make these comparison once it done release...
