Samsung admits to trolling HTC

0. phoneArena 16 Apr 2013, 18:58 posted on

It looks like the Taiwanese investigation of Samsung will be pretty short, because the Korean company has admitted to hiring trolls to bad-mouth HTC on the web. The investigation began after a Taiwanese website, called TaiwanSamsungLeaks, accused Samsung of hiring people to criticize HTC on the web...

Personally, I don't mind polycarbonate. I don't own a Samsung device but the cries for metal are getting deafening. How long will it take for them to listen?

Also agree that it doesn't need to be metal but it does need to feel nice in the hand.

if trolling is childish. what do you call a company that copies the ideas behind an open hardware event and patents those ideas after careful optimization of hardware design os design. continues to refine other open ended devices by patenting them. and eventually sues and shuts down any innovation due to patents.

I'd love to know who this company is, because all that nonsense doesn't describe who I think you're thinking of.

Wow. That's sad, they already sell way more phones than HTC. Is Samsung afraid people will wise up and realize that HTC makes a higher quality handset than them?

One could infer that from Sammy's classless action here, but it is all about personal preference. That, and Sammy has a much larger advertising budget than HTC seeing as how Sammy makes damn near anything and everything from refrigerators to TVs to phones and computers, components, and all manner of other appliances.

Good comparison of David vs Goliath, and don't think that David is going to win this sales battle unless a miracle happens.....

The one doesn't need to out sale the S4 for me to want to buy it... I despise SS for there lazy design and standard copy mentality... I don't reward imitation and blatant theft and now slandering.. I hope that all manufactures continue to win law suites against them until it forces them to change their mindset

After reading the same comments from some people here and other tech sites, doesn't surprise me a bit. It's one thing to speak your mind or be wrong, it's quite different to keep doing it all the time. Some people are like broken records, but not just for Samsung.

Samsung is a very united brand, regardless of which division or region, the strategy and planning all come together and getting nods from all heads. I'm sure it's more than just Samsung Taiwan. The kill Taiwan manufacturer business strategy is surely brought to the table and approved by everyone on Samsung's board.

we dont know anything, i hate what samsung taiwan did..
"very united brand"
yahh, but that doesnt change the fact that a business segment/ division has its own control over its own jurisdction,, and that hiring trolls is not a thing to make samsung global know it, coz it is really one of d crappiest business decisions that a global multi-awarded billionaire company will make.. im a business student and i know organizational structures of businesses, fraud can escape and such trolling move of a business segment can also escape .. i cant see any reason that Samsung International will approve that business decsion of samsung taiwan, and i believe that the management holding samsung taiwan are evils and cant handle the heat on Taiwan the hometown of htc one., unless Samsung Int'l is an evil company then i will believe that this is an International Move..

This act is not Okay, it is so disgusting as i am a samsung fan, i hate it.. but i wudnt conclude to hate samsung international if der is no evidence that samsung international is part of this samsung taiwan bul^^^^^^ move..

@amats69 commnt # 107, whats wrong with u

The reason why I think the international office is involved because Samsung is strongly supported by the government in Korea unlike LG or other Korean brands. The whole business operations is a lot more close fisted and strict. Then again, this is just my guess. The company I work for is owned by a company based in Japan and we're not even a branch, only a subsidiary. Those Japanese executives from the other side of the sea knows everything we're doing.

What jig? You think that Samsung has people on XDA too? I doubt it. They outsource their field reps in North America to marketing agencies. The last thing they would do is hire XDA posters. Those heat and gap issues are true.

sure, why not? XDA is still on the web right? Samsung is aware of XDA's importance among the Android community, i'm sure that's just what they did. ah but you know what else is true?http://www.phonearena.com/news/Heres-what-our-readers-dislike-about-the-Galaxy-S4_id41903 and don't forget subpar calling quality. you're gonna have to reach further than a little heat and a very slight manufacturing defect because even phones of this caliber are far from perfect.

As for 'sammy' that's just pathetic. Why would somebody in their right mind encourage and appreciate this low behaviour and tactics ?! They ripped off apple..they steal everything in site..they are innovating a little bit as well say amoleds and stuff (nicked from Sony?!) Really if somebody looks carefully at the rise of big sammy they will realise it was done through blatant copying and stealing innovation from all around.
It is very sad indeed. But that's how I see things.

Yes it is. because in my statement everything is a lie and a big fabrication. 'sammy' never EVER copied apple or anybody else. ios was made to look like touchwiz and not the either way. Sony and LG stole their amazing pentile unatural colors amoled technology. sammy was the first one to get a smartphone on the market (SGS 0). They invented the PLASTIC. The workers at their factory's committed suicide by creating an unhealthy environment. They never EVER applied dirty low and very 1870's tactics in their marketing strategies by intentionally and falsely denigrating the competition. We all love sammy because sammy is so good to us. If we fallow sammy like a legion of blind trolls one day, one day maybe we will get a hard on. ha ?!
