about time an actual interesting feature phone comes out on Verizon. the last real nice ones were the Rogue, enV Touch and the Chocolate Touch.

It's pretty much the U370. I will say, though, that Verizon probably has the best feature phone offering. Samsung Flights are infuriating, and whatever's on Sprint doesn't seem much better.

hmm and verizon refuse any windows phones without lte but take lte-less dumb phones?

Hmmm, It's not a dumb phone. It's design for those who want to upgrade to an inexpensive feature phone that is close to a smartphone as you can get. Remember not everyone has a need or wants a smartphone.

i think for most really dont need a smartphone. a feature phone suffices for most. but we are *ahem americans, we buy the best.

I work at a Verizon store and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it'll be called the Samsung Brightside. Just another useless "smart" phone they're churning out.

I guess I m interested in this "dumb" phone, because to me I DONT need a $30 data charge a month per line for services I'm not interested in. I also have 4 phones due for upgrade, and if required to get data phones, my phone bill would be almost doubled.
Bring it on, it appears to be nicer than what is offered now.

Does anyone know the date that this phone is coming out? I thought it was today, but it did not release.
Thanks in advance.

Found this about the brightsides accesories. Shows its case which matches with the camera.
Also Verizons website has the Brightside on it. But when you click on the name it takes you to this case.

Should be any day now.

Is this phone for sure not going to need a data plan of any sorts? By the looks of it when it's on, it looks something like a windows phone. I'm really excited and I know it won't dissapoint since the U370 sure didn't.

Well the rumor of Feb 10th obviously wasn't correct, anyone heard any more about another possible release date ??

I was at Costco (in Northern California) last week and the salespersoon showed me the dummy version of this phone which he thought it was the Illusion. Of course, after a quick search, I found out it wasn't. After some research and a couple more phone calls to the salesperson, he told me that he didn't know what it was... Now, since reading this post- the mystery is solved!! So the dummy is out, but not being displayed yet. Sounds like the launch is close.

On some websites for accessories for the Samsung U380, or the Brightside as someone mentioned, they allow you to pre-order accessories that will be available to ship on Feb. 23. So my guess is that it will release then. I don't know if that's true, but since it didn't release on the 10th and there aren't any other rumors about the date, and this is the only date I have seen associated with the phone I'm guessing around the 23. Obviously I could be very wrong, but it's just my two cents. We'll see when the time comes. I'm really looking forward to this phone since I need a new phone but can't afford a smartphone. One of the websites I saw the date, Feb. 23, was on Body Glove Mobile. Just search Brightside on their website and it should come up.

I'm not sure how accurate this website is, but it gives some information on the phone.http://www.reliance.us/Product
If you scroll down the brightside is listed as new and if you click on it, it gives a bit of info. According to the site, it will be featuring a 3.2 megapixel camera, but no recording.
