Samsung My Shot II now offered by Cricket
The other day we reported that Cricket was offering a high end touch screen handset, the Motorola Evoke QA4. Moving down scale a little, Cricket has announced it is offering the Samsung My Shot II. The device has a flip form factor that is equipped with a 1.3MP camera, mobile web, music player and SMS/MMS. A microSD card slot allows for 8GB in additional memory and the phone comes with a 2.5 mm audio jack. The price for the device is $159.99 with a $20.00 instant discount if purchased online that takes the price down to $139.99.

Cricket offers unlimited monthly wireless service with no contracts. Currently the carrier serves 4 million customers in 32 states.

How are they gonna have a phone called 'My Shot' and only have a 1.3 megapixel camera? Is the name not refering to the camera? And with that price you could just get the Env Touch on verizon and have actual realible service. I don't see how carriers like this even survive in this economy anyways.

So...it's called a My Shot II, but it still (keyword: STILL) has a 1.3 megapixel camera? Samsung could've at least bumped up the camera resolution to 2.0 megapixels.

I guess they were trying to stay in the same price range..

Which is odd, since the Samsung Jetset is $129.99 and has a 2.0 megapixel camera and is $10 cheaper than the My Shot II.

gee wel uh isnt it logical that a phone with a name like that (MyShot=good camera???) would have something like a 3.2 mgp or something? oh wait, cricket cant....it will drive the phone's cost into the high price range....... come on, my old phone FROM 2006 had a 1.3. mgp camera. to think technology has advanced........
