thumbs down to a "that's awesome"
i just dont get it, because it is pretty "awesome" that sammy still cares about such an old phone (unlike some other manufacturers that come to mind)

Even today the SII is a magnificent phone, other phones may have passed it specwise, but the SII can still keep up with ease.
The SII and the iPhone 4 have really left their mark more than any other phone.

Yep! The best thing is that Sprint users like myself don't have to use buggy Kies, I get the OTA JB update!
Can't wait! From the current leaks, I've heard they did a great job with it.

Kies is horrible; I tried daily to update my gs3 for three weeks and never could. Just returned it for a iphone 5.

Not just that. I've heard about some brick issues as well.
I made Kies work with my device too. It shouldn't be that hard, though.

Besides the HD screen and larger display, the SII (international version) just a lone on raw power kills my Galaxy Nexus. Such a good phone.

"And for those with the Samsung Galaxy S III walking around like their phone is "all that," it won't be too long until you're in the same position, envious of your pal's Samsung Galaxy S IV."
Nope. I've already set up my GS3 to be exactly as I like. Of course there will be changes courtesy of new types of widgets\apps available, but given the fact that the GS3 has a quad-core Exynos processor which is: a. Very custom-rom friendly and b. very overclockable, aside from very heavy 3D games - it will still manage to do almost anything in the next 3 - 4 years. Especially when I will root it and install whatever Android 5.0 custom rom there will be. :D

Greatest classic phones that have far surpassed their expectations, this is my opinion only. GS2/HD2 and the N900/N9.

I flashed the leaked official JellyBean rom for my Galaxy S2, so when I connect to Kies to update to the latest one it says 'your device's current firmware version is not supported to upgrade through Kies,
What should I do? Do I have to manually install this one as well?

Considering how many S2s are in the field and how capable the device is (the coming S2 Plus is actually a hardware downgrade), the JB upgrade makes sense. I've been waiting for it since the original announcement for 4q12. I wish Samsung would just get on with it and quit dawdling. And I hope this time it is a full upgrade rather than the half-baked one they did going from Gingerbread to sort-of ICS.

"Yeah, you used to tote around the greatest Android phone ever built. But that was more than two years ago and as you enviously eye your pal's Samsung Galaxy S III, the Samsung Galaxy S II nesting in your back pocket is feeling mighty old. But here is some news that might cheer you up"
It;s funny because in possibly a few months the S3 is going to be in eact position. The tech world is so rabid.
