i wonder how fast this APQ8060 REALLY is and if it'll be a match for the Exynos or even an OMAP4. it would be ironic as hell too if T-Mobile launched the Galaxy S II first.

Well the "Lower end" yet still better than anything else that is out there phone aka Galaxy R or Z, whichever they call it. Gets a really nice score of 3500 on the benchmarks and is very fast and responsive on webpages much just like the older brother SGS2. I would expect this phone to get just as good, if not better scores and have better performance.

the Galaxy R uses a Tegra II which is still a fine processor but this is Qualcomm we're talking about here.

I have good faith that this phone will be a beast. I think Samsung has done a hell of a job making their software match the hardware.

ya, they make the exynos, of course they will match that well.. lol. the qualcomm processor is a whole other issue.
I hope your right rory, ive been itchin for some Exynos goodness, and im still holding out for official specs not 4 month old rumor specs... hopefully that chipset will change back to the big E. Otherwise Tmobile will be the only major carrier in europe and US using a non Exynos SGS2. and that would be a major BOOOOOOOO.

I know what you mean remixfa, I can't wait to see this phone in action. I really hope Samsung wouldn't risk screwing up their US SGS2 phones by underpowering them.

apparently it's the same one used in the HP Touchpad but too bad it's webOS so we can't get a real good grasp of how well it runs on something Android.

Why get this the end of Sept when you have Android's Ice Cream Sandwich coming out by the end of the year? Ice Cream will be optimized for Texas Instrument's OMAP 4 chips.

Don't get this phone people. You will regret it. You will have to wait months and months and probably by Summer 2012 to get the latest Android update. Wait for the Nexus Prime! It will come out towards the end of the year and will have Ice Cream pre installed.

It blows the iPhone out of the water in terms of functions and performance, though the apps make majority of the experience and that is about equal IMHO. Then again, we'll have to see what the iPhone 5 or 4GS brings to the table but in the end, I'd still give the edge to the SGS2.

This will be a beast like the SGS2 cuz it can also be overclocked to 1.5 GHz each core, plus is supported T-mobiles (industrys fastest) real world 3G speed (4G lol) 42 Mb. Come on people Ice cream sandwich , if your hungry eat some food kids.lol Wake UP.

Talking about CPU frequency (Clock Speed), ARM Cortex-A9 CPU already can run at 2Ghz. But I don't think that such SoCs like a Samsung's Exynos 4210 (a.k.a. Orion) or Nvidia's Tegra 2 can handle it.
