This phone looks better than the Voyager but it is hard to know until it is released. The only reason this would be better than the Voyager is the UI (from the pix ive seen), flash on the camera, and it is more stylish...possibly smaller to.

IS THE EV-DO GOING TO BE REV-A?

even thoooou u can only use one at a time touchhh screens r very fragile. if u happen to be unluckyyyyy enough to screwww it up by dropping it or squiching it your phone may still work at least u still have buttons and screen internally to see and if u dont have a friggin warranty on a 500 dollar phonee its a plusss noooooo.. all touchh is wackkkk one screen is ight two is better.

38. xxx (unregistered) posted on 23 Mar 2008, 11:53

If you drop the phone or even "squich" it, i bet both screens, not jus the touch, are going to be messed up. And if offered, not sure if it is, people would be completely stupid not to have insurance on the phone so if a freak accident does happen you are covered for the most part.

I'm not here to impose my views or question anyone's inteligence. I am personally willing to pay for nicer features like a better camera because I use my phone as my camera. I think it is unfortunate that verizon uses inferior software because it may cost them customers... (I am now considering an iphone as well as other products) As for design it is basically an f700. Which is smart as there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. It costs a lot to develope new products... It is much cheaper to use a standard chasis and change small bits and pieces... As for comparing phones, it is all personal preference. Some would say the most basic phones are the best because they are pure phones that are true to function... it's all personal preference.. which brings me back to my point... my personal preference is taking me away from verizon and I am betting that people like me that arn't verizon customers yet are not willing to settle for what verizon gives them... We have a choice of providers, plans, and phones... I can deal with verizons tight control of their products as long as they give the best product or at least competative products... Existing customers seem to settle and be thankfull for what they are given... As for me, when this is released I will be shopping around and comparing it to everything out there... I am betting that the glyde would fair a lot better if they went with small changes to improve it and give it the edge over its competitors. It looks like a decent product and it may win me over yet...

Don't jump ship from Verizon -- be aware that for all the wonderful features of iPhone it has connection times that are less than half the speed of Verizon's network due to the different technology AT&T uses -- this is a major difference when using the phone for anything data related and especially for html internet. Also... recent reliable press reports say that a) Verizon will be opening its superior network to ANY compatible phone in the next year, AND B) that the huge swath of bandwidth Verizon just bought is going to be used to create a next generation nationwide network that will be beyond anything we have now, and compatible with the next generation network being planned in Europe as well. Handsets across the board are going to be improving by leaps and bounds in the next few years, and especially if other carriers follow Verizon's lead with opening their networks to third party phones, prices for handsets are likely to fall precipitously as well. So... remember that a handset is pretty useless without a good network behind it, and stick with Verizon, any phone your heart desires will soon portable to the network of your choice.

I've been reading up on this phone and have been eagerly waiting its arrival. I was close to going to verizon and purchasing the Voyager but was stopped in my tracks once I saw the u940. I've heard that a google phone is due out this year too. Anyone hear anything as to the release of the U940 or a verizon google phone?

43. (unregistered) posted on 24 Mar 2008, 22:22

44. DJ C (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 11:29

Look ppl........THERE IS NO NEED FOR 2 SCREENS!!!!!!!!

45. DJ C (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 11:36

As i was sayin before.......there aint no need 4 2 screens if you know how 2 take care of yo stuff. If you cant take care of yo phone than it wouldnt make a difference n e wayz cuz both screens would probly get jaked up. Shoooot.......you shuldnt even have a phone if you cant take care of it. And too thats what INSURANCE is for!

46. DJ C (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 11:44

I spoke wit a Verizon Rep. yesterday and he waz tellin me dat dey don't know if dey are going to even release or not. So there is a possibility dat we may not even get dis phone even if it has a upc and da rebate..........dat doesn't guarantee dat its going to be released. And as far as da release date is concerned...........like always Verizon aint sayin nutten until the day it is to be released...so we are all in da dark here ppl! lol

47. Sean (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 14:53

The thing is, VZW reps tend to not really know what they're talking about when it comes to new phone releases. I wouldn't consider the rep you spoke to a reliable source. By the way, just so you know, you shouldn't really write the way you talk. It's not a good idea.

92. li'l ricky (unregistered) posted on 04 May 2008, 20:28

Wrong... Verizon reps DO know what they are talking about when it comes to new phones, they just have a contractual obligation not to release confidential company information to the general public prior to approved dates. Which makes perfect sense if you think about it.

48. Sean (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 14:57

If I broke the screen ona phone with 2 screens, I wouldn't continue to use t anyway. I would just use an older phone that I already have. People don't buy the Voyager "just in case" they break the outside screen. Who honestly thinks of that when shopping for a phone? They buy the Voyager because it has a cool touchscreen and the second screen is just an extra. Where do people get these things from? I guess I'll never know.

49. (unregistered) posted on 25 Mar 2008, 15:09

Hey how come verizon employees cant say anything about realse dates they told me it was never going to come out is it true does anyone know?
