Samsung Galaxy Y Plus is now official in India

0. phoneArena posted on 13 Mar 2013, 09:39

Although all eyes are now at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S 4, which is bound to be announced tomorrow, there's one more new device that the Korean company has in stock for us. Meet the Samsung Galaxy Y Plus – supposedly an upgrade to the Galaxy Y, which is already listed on the company's Indian web page. However, looking at its specs sheet we find it strange that the Samsung Galaxy Y Plus is only marginally better than its predecessor...

What?!? Just because of the specs? This is a low-end smartphone!

Just because it's not cute...
No problem with the specs. There's a phone for every market/target.

Galaxy Y?? It looks like Galaxy Pocket in the picture, I guess PA made a mistake in the name and besides it has 2.8 inches screen so definitely it is a Galaxy Pocket Plus not Galaxy Y.

Whats the point of upgrading the ugly Y?
the could have gone for an OTA update!

Then you should wait for the new Y, Samsung will be releasing it soon...

The original Galaxy Y has 3 inch screen. Now the "+" model is bringing a 2.8" screen?

upgraded internal storage, os and dual sims, downgraded screen size. maybe upgraded ram, ICS should have 512 mb minimum.

prefer y duos, us$160: dual sims, 3.5" display and upgraded internal memory (not sure how big).

but, better buy lenovo p700, dual core 1.2 ghz, 4" display (1024x600), 512 mhz ram, 5mpx camera video 720@30fps, 4gb internal. only us$ 170

This is nothing compared to the Lumia 520, the 520 is more feature rich and around the same price, the WP platform would probably be a let down for a larger more popular consumer base for the 520.

I thought Galaxy Young was the update of Galaxy Y.. this is more like a Galaxy Pocket upgrade
