So I can turn my tablet into a mini laptop?

Lolol... if that student a tech geek... I think he will prefer nexus 7 because of jelly bean...

I Just Might Be Tempted To Get This Since Nexus 7 Doesnt Come With MicroSD Slot. And I could Care Less If Its ICS or JB, They Both Seem Rather Fine To Me, Plus $50 To Get 2 Additional Accessories Seems Good To Me.

pass... google nexus 7 is way better skins free pure JB, HD display, quad processor and i rarely use a rear camera on a tablet since it makes you look ridiculous and f**k the extra expansion msd card slot i like built in storage better
8. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
LOL ikr? taking a picture with a tablets rear camera would be like holding up a picture frame and pretending to take a picture of your best friend with it...not good lol

Yet on a regular basis I still see a**holes using their iPads as their primary camera of choice. Look at me... I have an iPad. Look at me.... it is so convenient to use a camera..... Meanwhile, their 3.5 inch iPhone sitting in their pocket takes 10x better photos and can be conveniently stored in their back pocket while not in use. iFans are so retarded.

So uh, worse screen, worse OS, worse processor, worse front facing camera and you take 50$ more?
14. RamyRamz69 (Posts: 390; Member since: 12 Dec 2011)
And why did you dislike my comment? These are facts concerning Nexus 7 and Galaxy Tab 2, if you don't like it then complain to Asus/Samsung/Google
27. j3anthony03 (Posts: 3; Member since: 10 Aug 2012)
the screen I think is better, Samsung have been making screens all their lives and if you look at reviews, it have a better white than nexus 7, it also have several screen features which you can use, the OS is just a generation younger and its also fast enough, I mean seriously, who times their tablet's performance by the split seconds, I personally like some lag at the appropriate times, such as while I'm eating :D AND the front facing camera IS a turn off but uhmmm the the galaxy tab's rear facing camera is better than Nexus's front camera... and how good is the Nexus rear camera? oh wait, IT DOESNT HAVE ONE
I really like this student's edition thing, I bet even people thats not a student is gonna like it too, I just hope it doesn't only come in white... Im personally not a fan of white gadgets... makes me look... less masculine... hehehe
oh btw, the galaxy tab have an expandable memory so you're not stuck with an 8 or 16 gb, if you did your research, you might say that you can use cloud storage, but unfortunately, some people dont have wifi all around them and like to keep loads of music files like I do... and I wouldn't mind an extra $50(yes, you put the dollar sign BEFORE the number) for that..
and THAT is why I thumbed down your comment :3

speaking of doing your research...
31. BadAssAbe (Posts: 434; Member since: 22 Apr 2011)
worse screen, worse OS, worse processor, worse front facing camera BUT you gain a rear camera, MHL port, MSD card slot, IR blaster, keyboard dock, and USB connector.
I think that's all the difference between them. Hope that helps

plus a camera? the nexus 7 may have jelly bean and a tegra 3 but for those wanting a ton of features for low cost this is a win.
11. Berzerk000 (Posts: 3643; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
So... You're paying an extra $50 for no pure Jelly Bean, longer waiting periods for updates, no Tegra 3, lower resolution display, memory expansion, and a keyboard? Memory expansion is important for some, but with those cons... Meh.
24. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
To be honest with ya man, Alot people really dont care that much for top-notch specs like we do.......thats just real, as long as it works good enough for them they will be satisfied and with all the accessories that comes with it....It would be a good sale for alot of people!
Heres the flip side though, you could probably buy a keyboard that will work with your nexus on ebay for around $50 extra bucks LOL.......might be more since the nexus 7 is newer and like you said has better specs...so its your choice ya know.. buy the galaxy tab with every thing already in the box and settle for lesser specs but still a good product......Or buy the better product and do some shopping around to complete the deal.......... :)

bear in mind that most of the students don't know about nexus 7, quad core processor, jelly bean etc, they only know that it's a tablet and i can play angry birds and watch porn with it, except if there's a tech-savvy student
20. u-suck-more (Posts: 529; Member since: 26 Aug 2011)
pls give us more credit. not every single student is a moron like u said. maybe in ur country, wherever you're from, every student is like that. but not in mine
21. Nikolas.Oliver (Posts: 1340; Member since: 01 Jul 2012)
i didn't say "Every Single Student", I said most of them,
22. Berzerk000 (Posts: 3643; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
Don't be so harsh, he's kinda right. Though it's not just limited to students, but most of the general consumers... There are a fair portion that actually look into devices though before buying

16. aayupanday (Posts: 355; Member since: 28 Jun 2012)
Flop coz it doesn't have that nasty Quad Core Tegra 3 processor.

I thought about getting this, but I am glad I bought my Nexus 7 at Walmart on Tuesday....good deal, though

Please read the article on Mobiletech review about the horrendous google customer support for the Nexus 7.

Although I would have loved something like this at launch (just for the keyboard), the touch screen response stutters half the time, and mine wasn't a faulty unit. There are multiple reports across the net regarding such issue. Try a painting/drawing app and attempt to do a straight line, with a finger or with a stylus - it's sucky. :( I took mine back to BB a week later and got the TFT300 instead.
Of course, if you are on a budget, can live with the stutters, and mainly use it for web surfing and playing some games, then you're set.

well I can't even draw a straight line with a $20 pen on some nice paper..

LMAO this is literally a day late.
I just bought my niece a 16GB Nexus 7 yesterday after comparing the Nexus 7 and the G Tab 2.
I was heavily leaning towards the G Tab2 because it had SD expansion and would have bought this bundle hands down.
BUT since this bundle wasn't out/announced yet I was forced to research the Nexus 7 and discovered that the Nexus 7 has expandable memory after a VERY simple unlock/root process so the Nexus 7 won.
32. j3anthony03 (Posts: 3; Member since: 10 Aug 2012)
did you remember to research how crappy google's customer support is? and you really dont need to unlock/root the nexus for memory, you can use cloud storage

I own the galaxy tab 2 7.0 and am not too pleased with it. The web browser is buggy, laggy, and force closes often, after the first update the machine freezes. App support stinks in the market place all the games I want to get dont appear or work because they are not compatible yet the galaxy tab 7.0 plus is compatible with the same games. Both cameras are garbage. The video maker app failed to edit an hd video. I am seriously considering the nexus 7.

Hello, I'm an user of this product. Just becuase the galaxy tab 2 7.0 is just a dual core doesnt mean it isnt worth buying. for people that wants an affordable tablet and wants expandable storage via a sd card, as well as a rear facing camera (both of which the nexus 7 lack)...that being said, that the galaxy tab 2 7.0 is just a dual core is irrelevant...because it gets the job done for alot of people.
Cheers, @Abbie from http://www.dchub.co.uk
