Samsung Galaxy S7 edge appears in silver, looks pretty

This is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Or at least that's what we think we're looking at, knowing that the image was just posted on Twitter by a trustworthy source – Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks. "Probably yr best bet for a Marshmallow-powered Galaxy," he says in his tweet. "Android Nonpareil might be another story, tho."

Note that Evan does not specifically refer to the handset as the Galaxy S7 edge, but the image pretty much speaks for itself. The curved display is there, obviously. So are the new Galaxy S7 wallpaper and the less rounded home button. Besides, the device looks identical to the alleged Galaxy S7 edge phone unit that was leaked several days ago.

As for Evan's words, they come in response to a talk about Samsung failing to deliver timely Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates. Indeed, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will run the latest Android release out of the box. Yet who knows how long an update to "Android Nonpareil", which seems to be a reference to the next major Android release, is going to take. On a related note, the actual "sweet" name of the next big Android version isn't known, but Android Nougat is by far our readers' favorite moniker

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are expected to be announced on February 21 in Barcelona, a day before the start of MWC 2016. To catch up on the latest word revolving around them, be sure to read our Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge rumor review.
