Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus pre-orders to start on August 20 (in Korea)
In less than 24 hours, during a Galaxy Unpacked event held in New York City, Samsung will officially unveil two new Galaxy smartphones - most likely the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (or S6 Edge+).

According to The Korea Times, Samsung is hoping that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (which should be a larger variant of the already available S6 edge) will help it increase profit margins - which weren't great in the last quarter. As previously reported, it looks like the S6 Edge Plus will be a global device, while the Galaxy Note 5 should be released in select markets, including North America.

The Korea Times is quoting a Samsung official who said that "smartphone sales during the third quarter will increase from the second quarter", and the company's "pricing strategy will be flexible, according to market situations." Samsung already lowered the prices of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

As for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Note 5, both are expected to be available shortly after their announcement. Not long ago, we heard that pre-orders for the S6 Edge Plus could start on August 21. But now, The Korea Times has it that the device should be available to pre-order one day earlier (at least in South Korea, Samsung's home country). Reportedly, all three major Korean carriers (SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus) are planning to take pre-orders for the extra-large S6 Edge starting August 20. It remains to be seen if this is a Korea-only thing, or if customers in other markets will also be able to pre-order the new S6 on the same day. In any case, we'll be here to bring you all the details about Samsung's new Galaxies as soon as they're unveiled.
