Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime appears in the Netherlands with 1080 x 1920 screen?

Samsung is so proud of the premium version of its Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship model, that it recently showed off the device in the Netherlands. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime was shown off during an event put together by carrier KPN, with a focus on its LTE-Advanced service. Despite the phone's appearance at the event, the manufacturer did not reveal an official name for the device... KPN will debut LTE-A on July 1st, and supported hardware should be available shortly thereafter. That includes the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. While original rumors called for a 5.3 inch 1440 x 2560 resolution screen, the device on display in the Netherlands has the same 5.1 inch screen seen on the Galaxy S5, with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That seems strange. If the idea behind the Galaxy S5 Prime is to challenge the QHD screen on the LG G3, that is not going to happen with a 1080p resolution glass.

Everything is just rumors.
That's why all the information is a mess and unclear.

Meanwhile S5 LTE A is being launched in Korea. QHD screen with SD805

And we KNOW a model exists with 906 number.
That's confirmed from FCC certification

Another PLASTIC TOY.... Whats the point of releasing Galaxy s5 and then releasing another same toy to confuse customers.

The processor is more efficient and powerful, QHD likely won't be all it was cracked up to be this year if the G3s screen is any indication of what's possible. The 805 with 1080p can probably outperform all the QHD phones that will be coming out this year due to the upscaling necessary. There is barely any content for this QHD resolution, it's just a penis measuring contest now.
I'd prefer a lagless experience since I'm still using a galaxy nexus from 2011, anything would be an upgrade to me. I'm sick and tired of all this rampant speculation, I've been waiting for a long time for a new phone.
Is the wait really worth it? Probably not. Thinking about getting the S5 tomorrow so I can stop reading about these stupid corporations and all their vague "leaks". I seriously loathe all of them right now, wasting my goddamn time with information overload. Rot in hell sammy, lg and htc.

+1 qhd is a bigger fad than 3D. My upgrade is coming soon and I really hope the HTC one m9 is distinctly lacking a qhd screen.

i hope so too but i seriously doubt it. there are too many trolls(mostly pro-samsung) who will whine and complain about the lack of QHD on a phone the will never buy.

What so good about g3?? Qhd with low brightness & contrast?? Same plastic body.. Even the camera on the s5 still toping the g3 on blind comparison test.. Wake up..

Preach brother. I don't get wats so good about G3 beside a good body to screen ratio. I actually prefers Samsung and Apple's off screen buttons. These 2 companys make up about 50%+ of the cell phone market so ppl must be liking those physical button.

the G3 is nth short of a disappointment, just like the S5. it might have been a big hit when it was first announced but when the reviews started coming in, it became VERY apparent that the main selling point of the G3 wasn't even well thought through. the S5 however, was a victim of its own hype.

you should not worry with samsung. I'm sure they have the best marketing strategy team, team that make s5 best seller:]

I guess even Samsung knows QHD is a gimmick and a waste of battery/processing power.

agree, ignorant consumer dont know that they need magnifier at 5cm for phone to discrete Qhd. and as always manufactur comply at consumer whim.

perhaps Samsung realised that releasing the Note 4 and a S5 variant with that screen resolution would cause an overlap of sorts, essentially making 2 of their products compete among themselves
my guess is that the Galaxy F (or S5 Prime or whatever it gets called) is just an updated S5 for H2 with the quirks of the S5 ironed out, while the Note 4 will feature the QHD screen and be Samsung's proper answer the G3

QHD will be for Galaxy F and Note 4. S5 prime will use FHD with better hardware.

The same really nice amoled screen but with an increase in speed and performance? Sounds like a win/win to me.

What you are failing to realise is that QHD might not be relevant now but it will be in the future, some people don't change their phones every 6 months or even a year. I am still on the Galaxy S3.
24. medtxa (Posts: 1102; Member since: 02 Jun 2014)
logicaly QHD would never relevant with image quality improvement in naked eye.

Pretty sure people were saying the same thing about 1080p though, now it's a must have....
