Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A now official with the world's sharpest, 5.1'' Quad HD display, Snapdragon 805, and 3GB RAM

Enter, the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, the world's most hardware-packed device currently available on the market (though it's unlikely it'll get out of South Korea, where it was announced). Like the standard Galaxy S5, the S5 LTE-A makes use of a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display, but this time around Samsung has nudged the whopping 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD) in it. This makes it the industry's sharpest display, at 576 pixels per inch (the G3, for example, sits at 538 ppi). But that's not all...

And any Android device right? we should only buy Apple products yeah?...iSh33p Commander in chief!...technology advances quite rapidly, in Android world you get to buy the latest as they emerge, not wait till it becomes obsolete. So are we finally getting a HD(960p) screen on the iPhone?

In India prices of the S5 dropped from 53k to 37k in matter of months, so yeah, im also against buying Samsung flagships at the moment.

This is the new trend. Smart phone getting improvement in a matters of 3 months much like pc components. However, only the most tech savvy could read those labels and know which cpu can overclock better.

I view it as a positive trend as we don't have to wait for a full year to get the latest improvement.

Samsung has it every time I want to buy a phone.

You can keep complaining about it Or maybe you should find to be happy about it!!! Instead of paying big $$$ first day, wait couple of months to buy your phone. I don't think someone force you to buy it at release date!!!
New but cheap; old but with still high price; light, durable and with good grip but metal and glass. You can't have everything in your live at a time, sometimes you need to make a choice. Set your priorities!!!

If you don't know that prices are highest during launch time, and reduce a lot with time, you must be an idiot. This is not the first time it happened, this is not the last time it will happen. And this is not specific to Samsung. Every smartphone price drops with time.

It doesn't take a PhD to know this.

You're not buying an investment that appreciates in value, you're buying a smart phone. If you're an early adopter you go in with the understanding that you are paying a premium for buying early. If you want a phone that doesn't lose value you can wait 6 months until it's $0 on contract and borderline old in technology standards.

This is the worst argument... seriously.

It dosen't mean that your previous phone stops working or starts to slow down for any reason..

There was s4 advanced version with SD processor for S.Korea last year. Its just for a single market. Other parts of world even won't know about it!!

It's Korea only, at least for now. I wouldn't call out S5 customers, but rather G3 customers who just bought a QHD phone with an old chip. Why LG didn't wait a few weeks for the 805 chips is beyond me.

Probably because most people dont even know the difference between 801 and 805. Design/UI/Camera/Screen would most likely come before the SoC for the majority of buyers.

Why did Samsung not just wait a few months and pop the 805 in all their S5 phones? Instead they release 2 versions of the same phone, one vastly superior to the one everyone already bought.

Why? Would you have paid for that 10-20 million S5 sales?
Isn't it obvious they don't have enough materials (SOC/display) to satisfy the demand of million every month?

How come people here lack such basic commonsense?

You are laughing because samsung updates their hardware whenever there is an update available in the market??? Seriously bro??? Samsung is trying to be the leader in the market by updating their phones. You cant back off hoping samsung or any other company will stop producing flagships just because millions of people already have their previous. If you can keep up the pace get on to it. Or else simply keep your mouth shut. No oneis forcing you to buy any phone. Its just your choice whether to buy a flagship phone or to wait till they release another one. But then again they will release another one. If you don't want to purchase a phone every 3 months and still if you want a flagship phone, you can purchase PORSCHE DESIGN or TAGHEUR phone or something like that.

i really don't get your argument. whats so poor about the galaxy s5 customers. the sony xperia z3 is coming out in no time soon when the z2 came to the us a few days ago. the htc prime (although rumored) might come this year as well.
your argument is stating that all of us are poor customers because we may or may not get the latest model.

grow up kid

I say the same for HTC/Sony customers. Who knows the company might not exist tomorrow!

BTW, the S5's people bought will continue to run absolutely fine.

And this is a Korea-specific model. Rest 261 countries in the world won;t have it.

No phone stays top notch because the company that makes it didn't make something better. Everyone on the planet earth is almost guaranteed to have a phone not as beefy as the S5 LTE-A.

It's simple as that.
Matter of fact, if it's top notch specs you want, you'd probably have a Samsung.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this. It just came out of nowhere. This phone definitely beats the G3, but let's hope its display does not suffer from the same disadvantages as the G3's. Hopefully it will become available in the US, because this thing is a beast...

Great phone but still no big announcement. This is not like Samsung. Maybe, we will see a big announcement in new york for the Galaxy F

I doubt that there will be a big announcement, since it's "just" an upgraded S5 for korean market and Sammy don't want to confuse people interested in buying the actual S5.

This was actually going to be the standard S5 (international version), but display and SoC were too late to the party. So now you have a S5 with 2013 specs and one with 2014 specs.

Lol here in Ethiopia the cellular network is about 11kbps at its best and the nearest wifi hotspot to where i live gets up to 300kbps which is unimaginably poor to any one who lives outside of africa but to me its mind blowingly fast. Yeah.
