touchwiz is laggy to geeks, but it feels normal to most users, but if replaced with another launcher such as Nova Launcher, its pretty much lag free.

I have the i9500 octacore version, it doesnt lag at all, but launching the camera app disappoints me, it still has a 1 second lag which i hope will be fixed in a software update.

I switched to Apex pro version a week ago, and still didn't help that much, im afraid it's a software bug in samsung implementation, cause Touchwiz is not just a launcher, it's deep.

Millions are fine with supposed "horrible lag". I guess you're just one of the vocal few who aren't. Can't please everybody.

I would gladly purchase your phone for a reasonable price.

I remember the gs3 with custom touch whiz rom, absolutely owned every phone I have owned in speed battery life and heat

Funny thing is, HTC One runs smoother than both S4s despite having slower (underclocked) processesor, because SS is just trying too hard with its touchwiz ui.

Nexus 4 is still the fastest android phone though, because of its low res screen.

Perhaps you mean "lower res screen". 1280x720 on a 4.7" screen is definitely not low res.

I obviously meant low res screen compared to other flagships, because guess what, I was comparing it to other flagships. No need to state the obvious.

Samsung is working on a fix to reduce lag... Should be out in a few weeks

I remember owning various Htcs' and their fix came out months later or not at all or the problem was simply ignored. I'm referring to htc premium phones

I wouldn't say "obviously". 1080 screens come out & all of a sudden a lot people are acting like anything less is unacceptable. Glad you aren't one of those people.

Nexus 4 screen res 1280x768 not 1280x720.

I always thought the Nexus 4 was smoother because it had the same Adreno 320 GPU as the 1080p phones, but had less pixels to push, so it could handle the animations better. After seeing the HTC One though, I'm not so sure thats it...

It's the GPU doing the rendering, so the CPU overclock wouldn't help much I don't think. Maybe the Adreno 320 needs a bit of an overclock. Some spring cleaning for Touchwiz would be nice too...

Yeah I was pretty bummed about my S4 too. It's not quite as smooth as one would expect, especially with a higher clock.

Things like the Air View sensor seem pretty inconsistent, spazzing out. (you can tell at the unlock screen it doesn't always track properly)

I tried using a launcher and that does help the UI lag a bit, but it tends to break all the features that use the new sensors as well as the unlocking effects.

I also happened to see my cousin's HTC One, and indeed, his was truly buttery smooth. I'm just hoping whatever lag this is, it's something that can be fixed with a software update.

Did you try updating it? I have the same model running touchwiz and it doesn't lag at all. The only thing that lags is the Gallery which takes 1 to 2 seconds to open after I tap it(And After I install the latest firmware for it, the lag was pretty much reduced.) . Also, Try to install seeder and see if that fixes it.:)

Two things are wrong with this......first its the 26th (next Wednesday)...so if these people are shipping the 28th its two days after the launch and 2-day shipping is available from the play store...and this phone better come in BLACK!!!.....also its kinda funny how no info is available on the google play store website....hoping for a price drop seeing how the T-mobile S4 is now $70 cheaper at $580

Looking at google skin is giving me a headache. I hope users can change the skin to more plain looking one.

Is it me or does a lot of htc one owners on this and familiar site sound like they are foreigners with nothing better to do then gloat about how wonderful their phone is.

In the wild no s4 owners do I know who complains about their phone. Many of them owned a s3 a note a s2.

The one will be forgotten here when the butterfly or whatever htc with the s800 comes out wait and see.

I've got a couple friends with GS4s and they say after an update that was pushed recently. The phone is amazing.
How it should have been out of the box.

Which carrier? The only one I heard that did something like that was AT&T. I'm on Verizon, so whatever update there is I'm not going to expect to see it for a good while *sigh*

Or did they buy the phone full price?

Who wants to bet some guy just rooted a T-Mobile S4 and flashed Cyanogen onto it looking for a quick buck?
