We already know a fair bit about the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, and it looks like we've just learned a tiny bit more. The Galaxy S4 Active is planned to be a variant of the Galaxy S4 that trades off a bit on the spec sheet to offer a more rugged build, which is said to be waterproof. You know, for people with active lifestyles, or drop their phones in cereal a lot. One or the other. Well, one model of the device has just received FCC certification and looks to be headed for AT&T...

I agree. GS4 Active is way ahead of Xperia Z

I would say it's much better than the Xperia Z. It has the S4 Pro, so that means it's already on par with it in terms of raw power (assuming it's the quad core version), the 1080p display will probably be the same S-AMOLED display as on the GS4, which is SO much better than the TFT on the Xperia Z, and even though it's "only" an 8 MP camera Samsung typically has better camera software than Sony, as you can see by the GS4 and Xperia Z having the same camera but the GS4 taking better shots.
The GS4 Active is a rugged device, while being much more ergonomic than the sharp, blocky, and unwieldy Xperia Z; I would choose this over the Xperia Z just for that reason.

The S4 Pro only comes in a quad core variant.

No, there is a dual core variant with the model number MSM8960T. It's dual core Krait with Adreno 320, the quad core variant is the APQ8064, quad core Krait with Adreno 320. They both are S4 Pro
