It definitely looks a lot better than last years player. I love Samsung, but they need to stop with black on one side and white on the other side. Make one all white and one all black. Throw some silver in there and it looks a lot better. The original Galaxy Players sold well in the states last year, but I would still don't see a need for it when you have a smartphone

I guess it makes sense for Samsung to really attack the iPod Touch market since Apple has a stranglehold on it. I personally don't understand the need for such a device since modern smart phones eliminate the need for carrying a portable multimedia player. Maybe young gunners whose parents won't purchase them a premium smart phone. Although, it could be that people just like extra gadgets.

This is pretty much the Galaxy Player only with lower specs than the Player 4 or Player 5. I'd still get the Galaxy Player 5 over this because the Player 5 has a larger screen, 2500mAh battery, and has a 3.2MP rear camera.

Alot of people think a 5 inch screen is too big, 4-4.5 is a good sweet spot. The battery is bigger to accommodate the larger screen, so the battery life on the 4 and 5 should be around the same, give or take a couple hours. And a camera on a media player isn't really necessary... But, I guess that's your call, see what better fits your needs

where do you buy these I have never seen them in any store in the states. I myself have a seven yr old who uses an ipod only because its the only option. He hates how small the screen is and how the memory is not expandable I would def buy one of these but they need to make more places such as best buy, target even walmart carry them.

needs more than 8 or 16GBs. i have 36+ GBs of music that's not counting video and pix. i just wish they could give more built in storage space.

That's why it has expandable memory. Get the 16 GB version, put in a 32 GB SD card, and bam, you got 48 gigs of memory. That leaves about 12 gigs for everything else, plenty.

I wish I would've known about these sooner. I just learned that there were android media players after Christmas, so I missed out on the galaxy player 4.0 and got an iPod touch 4 instead :( I jailbroke my iPod though, so it makes it a little better. Still wish I had that 4 inch screen though, and an actual Android interface, not a make-shift Android jail break
