But before that...time for more renders and speculations no??

Are they going to fuse S and Note series ?
I mean seriously, 5 in. is almost Note-like
12. Reluctant_Human (Posts: 867; Member since: 28 Jun 2012)
That would make the most sense and be better for everyone.
20. AliNSiddiqui (Posts: 382; Member since: 19 Sep 2012)
No it seriously wouldn't! I prefer smaller screen sizes starting form 4.3 ending at 4.7... 5 is just too big, and from the looks of it, just about every display is going to be a 5 incher 1080p which I think is extremely stupid and I am sure I am not the only person on the planet who prefers smaller screens than 5 inches.

If they can keep the phone the same size as the s3 but reduce bezel and there is plenty on the s3 which may just allow then to fit a 5" screen... Example the RAZR m has a 4.3" screen in a 4" screen phone so there's no reason why a 5" can't be possible on a 4.8" screen phone... The s3 size is the max I am willing to live with but that's what I said about the s2 and when I even had a Iphone I thought to myself I don't want any bigger... Hopefully Samsung don't increase the size of the phone he'll ill be happier If they kept it 4.8" non penile 720p and just trimmed the bezels to make it smaller... I have no problem with the s3 and can't see any pixels from normal viewing distance and unless your eyes are like an inch away you won't see any... Really don't see the point of 1080p on such a small screen... Would rather have a 720 with extremely good battery than 1080p with just good battery.

omg that would be epic! a 5 inch screen on a 4.8 inch screen phone! ahhhhh!
28. infernal88 (Posts: 113; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
unless they are planing to make it in very slim bezel ....and the out come be in same total size of the current S3 im okay with it ...other wise :/ note series would be better choice since u will get big phone anyways

Just because the screen could be a 5 incher doesn't mean the handset it going to be bigger. Bezels are almost gone now in the most cutting edge designs. The sony T has a 4.7 inch screen in a handset size no bigger than the 4.3 inch galaxy s2. The new motorola handsets have 4.3 inch screens in handsets no bigger than the iphone 4s. Its safe to assume Samsung will release the Galaxy s4 with a 5 inch screen in a handset size the same as the s3 if not perhaps a fraction smaller.
Judging by current handsets set for imminent release its safe to say the s4 will have a 5 inch edge to edge 1080p screen,at least 2 gb of ram and 2ghz quad core prcocessor.

I would definitely prefer the screen size that is
used in SIII. That is huge enough...
The bigger it gets, the more discomfort it gives.
By the way, quad-core is getting like a normal
thing...is anyone developing hexa-core

I think they will keep the device the same size but make the screen bigger
4. SMASH1337 (Posts: 2; Member since: 16 May 2012)
I would expect a huge increase in quality in just about every aspect of this phone. Why? Cause I just used my upgrade >.>

and yet still can only run android but not full linux will be waste if not linux means all those resourses wasted for android

1080p display is overkill and would drain battery like hell, the S4 sounds awesome but I'll be buying the LG Nexus and probably the Nexus after it next year, I'm always on CM/AOKP on my S2 seems like a natural progression
22. Mitchel (Posts: 228; Member since: 25 May 2012)
Nexus is not for mainstream market, Galaxy S series is.. Believe me, ordinary people who wants to buy high end phones only look for iPhone and Galaxy phones.. Sad, but it's true..
27. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
Couldn't agree more.. Here in the UK all is see are Iphones and galaxies ... Blackberries use to be everywhere and I still see then regularly but not as much as I see Iphones and galaxy s2s and s3s
8. bayhuy (Posts: 315; Member since: 23 Jun 2011)
And what did they say about the body? Cheap plastic again?
26. kamejoko (Posts: 117; Member since: 10 Nov 2011)
Not plastic. Polycarbonat and friendly with environment.
9. dickwyn (Posts: 601; Member since: 07 May 2012)
i am hoping for a unibody design and some use of more premium parts
30. infernal88 (Posts: 113; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
it is a big NO for unibody for me .....i dont want to lose the replaceable battery ...believe it or not some ppl cant get a day with only one battery :P
39. dickwyn (Posts: 601; Member since: 07 May 2012)
who knows maybe it will have the unibody design like the lumia 820 where the battery is user accessible
14. ajac09 (Posts: 1367; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
of course it will be quad why the hell wouldnt it be?! Thats like saying it will have a damn touch screen
31. infernal88 (Posts: 113; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
giving that a dual A15 give more performance than current quad A9 ...they might end up with the dual A15 ....u know more milking it more ...if they jump directly to quad core A15 they wont make same money as if they take it step by step
66. brandnew234 (Posts: 18; Member since: 12 Aug 2012)
That makes sense, but then they couldn't market that it's quad core, because the average person doesn't even know what ARM is, let alone the performance difference between the A9 and the A15. On top of that Samsung releases only one Galaxy S per year, so with Tegra 4 phones most likely coming for late 2013 not using a quad core CPU would be a big mistake, and would probably cost more than it'd save. Besides, in 4 months the Exynos 5250 won't be anything special compared to the competition (rocking 1.7GHz S4 Prime or Tegra 4 CPU's). So, in conclusion I expect a Exynos 5450 clocked at ~1.7GHz, which should eat everything elses benchmarks for breakfast. Well, except Tegra 4 (they should be about equals).
15. ajac09 (Posts: 1367; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
and personally I think thy should keep the same screen size just change the aspect ratio being at 5 or over will confuse it to much with the note line
16. user312 (Posts: 68; Member since: 21 Aug 2012)
I hope this is not a cross between the two series they should keep them seperate people want the note, people want the GS3 because of the size difference, they want big screens but not humungus sized. To fuse them they would lose a little sales. Personally I would want to see a 4.9 inch but thats just me. For all you people reading this and saying it will be the same phone, instead of following GS3 style mae it different surprise us Sammy.

S3, the next big thing. many fantastic specs given. complaint? cheap plastic body.
S4, pls make it alumimium, titanium, or any similiar to motorola razr case material.
what else you can complaint? for me, definately speechless.

Carbon fibre frame would be awesome
I really wonder why no one started using carbon yet.
47. predator93 (Posts: 122; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
Carbon fiber has been used before, its about time mainstream devices use carbon fiber on the rear panel.

1.A new Design
2.New Screen Resolution.
3.12 MP Camera.
4.Revamped Touchwiz Interface.
5.No Keys and very thin Bezel.
19. Just_a_boy (Posts: 183; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Only screen and processor? Only that Samsung? Really? And people will say that is innovative (like iPhone 5 was? only updating size screen and processor)
57. 8logic (Posts: 131; Member since: 05 Mar 2012)
Notice, with every galaxy phone, the amoled screen got improved With better color representation and my higher ppi.
Also notice the direct Wi-Fi And smart Sean beam That got introduce.
I predict sgs4 to have wireless charging as well as flexible screen.

Amazing. 13MP backlit camera and 4 gigs of RAM would be fitting for such a monster, a 3000mAh+ battery too.
Speaking of batteries, any news when will these newer energy technologies that promise doubling of capacity at the same size reach mass production? This baby may require 4000mAh for heavy LTE usage, and heavily used it will be.
41. No_Nonsense (Posts: 826; Member since: 17 Aug 2012)
IT's an eff-ing phone not a laptop. Phone software optimizations needs to match up with the hardware that's thrown at it otherwise its practically useless on any platform.
63. user312 (Posts: 68; Member since: 21 Aug 2012)
4 gigs? c'mon now thats a little outta hand don't ya think?
64. remixfa (Posts: 14226; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
no.. why should progress stop because your imagination for its uses is limited?
I dont know of any phones that can do 3D holograms just yet. complain we have enough power when we have interactive mobile holograms.
65. user312 (Posts: 68; Member since: 21 Aug 2012)
I wasn't complaining we have enough power I was simply saying that 4 gigs coming from 2? 2 gigs is the best of what they have to offer right now and, that giant leap in a year (and whatever months it takes to release it) is a little unrealistic.
P.S I wasn't saying progressing should stop it's just we might have to wait longer for 4 gigs we'll most likely have 3 gigs for the s4 don't worry

This will be my next phone. Can't wait!! Bring the monsta!!! lol :)

Quad core 2GHZ A15 ?
What to say.. that is more powerful than a new midrange laptop.. seriously

2014 Samsung S5
5.2" 2560x1440, 2.5GHz quad core, 4GB ram, 3000mAh battery, 5mm thick etc

Im waiting for HTC to bring out a 5'' plus inch phone with at least 2gb ram so im looking at Samsung to bide me time till then.....The note 2 looks lovely.....i draw the line at 5.5'' though.....excellent size.....after that you may as well get a 7" tablet.....
40. TimTebow (Posts: 70; Member since: 14 Feb 2012)
So behind the times, a15 and 1080p should have been out already by Samsung.
I guess they love to milk their new fan boys clean.
43. jonartpop (Posts: 162; Member since: 25 Oct 2012)
I just got my gs3 for 2 weeks and they already have rumours about the next one. By the way 4.8" I think is enough for smartphone.
44. Jeradiah3 (Posts: 1010; Member since: 11 Feb 2010)
What else besides the processor speed do they need to do with this phone. They've made alot of innovations with this phone so making the S IV is not needed, but necessary i guess. I can understand making the Note II, but I hope that the S IV has new features like a slightly larger screen or something. I hope that they dont run out of ideas to make the phone great and end up like Apple lol
45. k1ng617 (Posts: 264; Member since: 13 Oct 2009)
I'll call it now. My money is on dual core 5 series.

Android, is the future.
That's all I can say.
49. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
The future of what.......either way I don't want just one choice so not 1 os is the future
52. The_Innovation (Posts: 574; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
Well let's just say, Android is the most innovative, and gives you the most freedom to pretty much do whatever the f*** you want to your phone (if you have the skills to). Windows Phone is fresh, but it seems pretty innovative (Nokia Lumia 920), Apple on the other hand, is step back.
55. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
I agree right now android has the legs on other when it comes to customising etc but as you said to get the most Out of android you gotta know what your doing.
Wp8 i think bridges the gap between ios and android, might not be as customisable as android but seems to have the needed fuctionality plus refreshing and my opinion more user friendly, no one can argue ios is stale and dull now.
Just dont get the hate on here for windows
62. user312 (Posts: 68; Member since: 21 Aug 2012)
But thats the beauty one OS many different looks, from many different manufacturers so really thats all you need.
50. aburgerBuksie (Posts: 15; Member since: 16 Sep 2012)
I wouldn't say that it would sport a 2ghz quad core. Because of the A-15. Its 30% more efficient than the A-9 procersor. So it would either be a 2ghz dual core or a 1,4ghz quad. Beceause they say on the ARM website that its really expensive to make the A-15 chip. And also very tricky because of the materials used.
51. bojan (Posts: 188; Member since: 06 Oct 2012)
i will only buy it if sumsung makes a better camera and fix there quality and this phone is bezel-free phone. take my money now
