Thanks to a loyal reader of ours we now know that Verizon is getting a Samsung Galaxy S III charging kit of some kind. No, it is clearly not the official one, which the Korean company presented earlier this year, only to have its release delayed until September. We are dealing with a Verizon-branded charging station that should work with most phones that support wireless charging...

Is it the device that will be patented next week by aaaaple ?

Of course it will. Apple seems to have a patent on every little item that involves a smart phone.
Even though this is a tad different, most battery companies came out with the charging pad for all phones a couple of years ago. When Apple Patents this, they will not only go after Samsung, but the battery companies as well.

Could you help me find one of these? I would really like one for my S3. I can't find any anywhere.

Why not just plug it in and skip the extra cost?

Because for people like me I goe through a lot of chargers because they where out. My original charger goes in and out and some times is not charging and I don't know about it. I don't have to worry about that with the wireless charger. Wireless charging is in its infancy but it's a better universal system than the microusb and it's a way along with the pogo pins on the galaxy nexus that android will eventually have a way to start having a universal dock that can start being used with the wireless charging tech and Bluetooth without wearing out the USB chord. For people that do not have the problem of having there's wear out and break and trying to plug in the dark and others your right it's not necessary but the charger can be used for other phones like I believe it was made for a Motorola device at first. It's not device specific or battery specific so besides the cover in the long run it will be inexpensive way to have a good charging system. I believe the back covers will eventually get cheaper and cheaper. I have a 25 percent discount and when I bought this setup I actually paid 34 dollars for the charging pad and 29 dollars for the cover. It cost me about sixty dollars. And if you get screen protectors I believe you can get a biger discount for buying a bundle of accesories. I love the charger except for one thing. Every time I put it on the charger it turns my screen on and puts a pop up message every time that I have to say ok to but I can ignor it and it will turn back off

Oh and just because it says Verizon it does not mean its only for Verizon. It works on any sg3 if you don't mind it saying Verizon on back

The charging pad is the same LG number that debuted with the LG Revolution all of those 4G LTE years ago. The pad is hard to come by in stores. But it is super cool. If you want to spend the cash to charge your phone.

I agree but I look at it more of an investment because you can use it on multicultural devices and use it for years.

I plan on doing some charging time test and also going to stores and finding other docks that will support the back cover than report back because I am sure that if it's that much at Verizon than the charging pad can be found elsewhere for cheaper.
