and tell me how much zooming you do that needs it? the current high magnifying just isnt enough? Honestly, there comes a point when maybe you should just buy an actual digital camera. lol

Zooming will never be good when a gizmo provides you only a digital zoom!!
So, if you're all into the zooming frenzy...get a binocular...that can get you a snapshot!!

Again, here's an example: it's said that a digital camera should have around 80 megapixels to compete with an analog camera: however, we're happily making photos with 12 MP and noone is crying for low resolution compared with analog photos. If we passed to digital so easily, it means that the loss of resolution is acceptable while costs are reduced and usability is improved.

Unless you're making photos of stars and insects, megapixel is probably the last criteria: lens>sensor>software>...>resolution (if>1920x1080)

Sammy improved the first three criterias, according to the first gathered data.

Resolution it's a gimmick for photo ignorants: ask ANY photographer.

If you don't want to see pixels after 100x zooms, then buy an analog camera.

Digital zoom? It's like cropping the picture, you lose a lot of the original picture's quality! Go make some research before posting s**tty comments.

additionally having the extra pixels crammed into the same space on the image sensor causes more "noise" in the photos... true story

compare N8's pictures and other 8mpx. And don't tell me you don't see the difference.

Megapixels have nothing to do with picture quality. When will people realize that?

The white looks more shiny and classy compared to the blue one. When I buy, if I buy, it'll be the white one.

white looks great in front. But the backside of the white phone dont look so good. It looks like cheap plastic shine.

Let's be honest, who isn't going to buy a back-cover for this phone? You'll never see it!

Now please stop this "adding case to the phone , so design is not important" . Do you guys think all other OEM's concentrating on designs are stupids and only Samsung is intelligent .

Just accept the fact the Samsung is not able to make a well-designed phone and SGS3 is not bad but still not anything innovative .

You guys are becoming Samsung she*ps trying to justify or give reasons for the negative points in SGS3 .

People will stop with the "adding case to the phone" when people stop with the "the back is so ugly omg."

Seriously, I've never known ANYONE with a smart phone who didn't use a case.

You're a random person on the internet, I don't know you. So it still stands. I don't know anyone with a smartphone that doesn't use a case.

first off
Design is in the eye of the beholder. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean others wont.

The design isnt bad, it looks just like an American Hercules/Skyrocket SGS2 with a central button. Guess what, in real life people LOVE the way it looks. Its minimalist to focus your eyes on a that big screen. Its on purpose.
Plastic, love it or hate it, is extremely durable and light weight. Im not a fan of the ultra shiney coating they put on the phone, but its a minor inconvenience.. especially since the large majority of people put on cases.

Its not about one manufacturer being smarter than the other or people being some sort of sheap because they dont feel as strongly about it as you do.. which is a ridiculous argument anyways..
its reality. Most people put cases on phones. So if you dont like the looks, buy a case, problem solved.

I dont think the design is beautiful or ugly. I think its purposefully minimalist to show off the screen. HTC does have some of the nicest designs, but dont u dare drop it or you will be behind the iphone guys in the screen repair line.
Say what you want, but SGS phones take a beating without breaking.

Hilarious...

As if we're all so shallow that we use a case for aesthetic reasons alone...

Take a look at an iphone 4... now drop it... doesn't it look fantastic with all those cracks along the back and front?!!

It's for protection more than anything...
(which in itself kind of defeats the argument for glass / metal)

Honestly, I accidentally put my GS2 in the washing machine a few months ago... dried it out... works perfectly and not a scratch on it... I'd love to see what happens if an iphone, etc. went in the wash... I'm sure it'd turn out to be one hell of a well-designed paperweight...

;)

If design wasn't based strictly on personal opinion the you'd almost have a point.

even if you dont like the shiny gloss i bet that a 3rd party matte back cover will be available...i have a 3rd party metal back on my s2 which adds a bit of weight and makes the phone feel great in the hand but i stopped using it as it affected the gps signal strength...what am saying is if you dont like the back there will more than likely to alternate back covers for you to buy.

yeah white look fine on anything.... UNTIL it gets well used, and starts to show all the dirt, scratches, etc... hey even the *most* careful user eventually gets it... :(

dark colors mean they just don't show the dirt.. no *wincing* every time you put you phone down, grab it with dirty hands, even miss a call because you cannot pick it up due to hands covered with pastry, cheese, etc, etc.... :/
