Samsung Galaxy S III is likely not the GT-i9300

The Samsung Galaxy S III will most likely not bear the GT-i9300 model name. The User Agent Profile of that model shows a display resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, which is not something one would expect...

whatever you may say but the galaxy s3 will rule each and every smartphone
2. avinashmunnu (Posts: 14; Member since: 07 Feb 2012)
yup... i agree with u... s3 will rule the market like s2

Except the S2 doesn't rule the market. Then again, I'm biased to the Nexus.

s2 didn't rule the smartphone market it was iphone 4.
I dont like apple i love lg but a fact is a fact.

market is one thing , preformance is another ,just because iJobs can make your momma buy a product with no reason does not mean its good ...Samsung s2 >everything else in 2011
22. RamyRamz69 (Posts: 390; Member since: 12 Dec 2011)
Totally disagree. The Droid Razr is the best phone of 2011.
13. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
the iphone4 was nowhere near as good as the SGS2. it was a single core POS. If you mean the 4s, it still wasnt as good. What phone won international phone of the year for 2011? The i4s? Nope, it was handily beaten by the SGS2. Sales are not indicative of quality. The only category that the i4s beat the SGS2 in was in GPU power. Everything else was either a tie or a huge loss on the apple side. The exynos powered SGS2 is the over all best smartphone on the planet.
28. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
wow.. Apple beat the Galaxy SII in the most important category... sales... is hard for you being a geek and all but.. sales indicates is a product is successful or not.. keep al your test.. and all.. I doubt Samsung puts a product out to win all tests...
29. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
gallito, when the iphone competes against 30 other iOS models with different features, let me know. Until then total sales compared to all devices is a misnomer that only iTards hold on to for desperate hope as only iTards use a closed system that only gets 1 release a year. Even RIM puts out multiple variations every year (yea, its not helping them stop sucking right now though)
Android sales are double iOS sales worldwide. Thats the sales number you should be concerned with, as thats the true number of the entire OS ecosystem. Eventually all these articles about "developers preferring apple over android" are going to turn into "developers chose android over apple since the ecosystem is 100x larger"
But hey, you keep on touting that "biggest seller" moniker... if thats all you have to hold on to, you just keep on holdin on!!
41. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
and you keep holding to all market share moniker when you know most of the Androids devices are either cr@p and only a few.. are worth even talking about... must be tough for you when the company you worship ( Samsung ) didn't even released and exynos device on your crappy carrier... and just like I don't understand your best spec.. crap.. you don't understand..sales figures..
4. RaKithAPeiRiZ (Posts: 1223; Member since: 29 Dec 2011)
samsung is kidding around , they said the galaxy nexus has only (480x800) but when it was released it had (1280x720) ,this is just a cover for a mega impressive resolution for the real i9300
12. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
i had the same thought. Samsung is purposely keeping the resolution low so that you dont know for sure that its the SGS3. Keeps the rumor mill churning as people argue about it. :)

Best mobile of 2011 optimus 4g if your talking about specs hence ''performence''.
Best selling phone of 2011 is iphone.
But i think your talking about the best challenger to the iphone.
Which makes u a sour loser and also a supporter of the company who challenges apple.

Have you ever thought that the reason they don't produce it 720p is vecause they don't want their flagship to have a pentitle display? Maybe they came up with a way to produce a rgb screen arrangement for a 1024x600 screen but they cant get pasdt that barrier. I just assime they don't wan't pentitle on the S3

I understand that out there is a ton of people that just don´t want to accept that the Galaxy S2 is simply one of the finest pieces of hardware out there since last year. Samsung have show to Apple that their brainwasher supremacy in the game is coming to and end.
Phonearena insists that the Galaxy Nexus is a better handset than the GS2, but it is not as easy to say considering that the GS2 have a far better processor (Exynos) & memory expansion capability, apart to say that even if the GS2 doesn´t have Nexus resolution, Super Amoled Plus continues to be a beautiful screen.
You can virtually do everything with your GS2, I can mod, tweek, root & even makes it resemble an Iphone if I want to. There is Tons of ROMS out there (over a hundred), so this means developers knows that there is potential on the handset.
A year have passed since it was launch & today the GS2 continues to demonstrate the competition that it´s not easy to defeat the prime technology behind this beast.
Just for example... Look how many handsets have hitted the market just to mention HTC, Motorola & Sony Ericcsson & all fall behind the Mighty GS2. With this I don´t meant to say that it´s undefeatable, but it´s simply a handset that many people loves to have & that right now at this moment it´s considered the best smartphone of all times.
The GS2 is in the lead & this gives Samsung time to sit & scratch their balls to mastermind the sucessor to the GS2 because you like it or not, the GS2 is the gladiator out there standing still against not only Apple, but against ALL.
The only website I have seen that spot the GS2 as third for best phone of the year 2011 was Phonearena (cmon guys, you know you did a mistake). all other websites mostly 95% gave the GS2 the title of 2011 Champion of the year.
Techradar not only gave it a perfect score, but also shared an article of what they consider are the best 20 smartphones in the world right noe. Check Techradar impressions:

I completely agree that the SGS2 i9100 (not the crapdragon enhanced american versions) is far superior to the Nexus in every respect other than screen resolution and ICS.. which its about to get. Maybe they are confused and comparing it with the fake SGS2 skyrocket/hercules instead of the real exynos infused SGS2.
26. henrickrw (Posts: 402; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
That´s correct.... Who cares about LTE connectivity, please raise your hands.... Snapdragon is a piece of CRAP...!!!!
So they spoiled the North American Version of the Galaxy Note as well.
30. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
its a trend that i cant wait to see come to an end with the release of the next version of exynos. ugh..
34. thephoneguy92 (Posts: 191; Member since: 29 Dec 2011)
HSPA+ will soon be faster then LTE, in more areas, and takes less of a toll on phones. I say, who cares about LTE?
35. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
i dont give a crap about LTE. Honestly I dont really give a hoot about high speed HSPA+ either.. as right now both of those techs are keeping me away from exynos since network providers think its more important to be able to tout high hypothetical speeds than real world performance. I would happily take a 3g SGS2/Note it it meant I'd have exynos.
36. thephoneguy92 (Posts: 191; Member since: 29 Dec 2011)
I don't really understand what you mean here. It could be the fact that I am still trying to understand this whole chip business. Care to explain why you would rather an exynos chip to higher data speeds? (Not meant to be sarcastic at all, just very curious about your reasoning)
38. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
it comes down to real world performance.
real world performance of the chips... the exynos is 25-50% stronger than the crapdragon S3 chipset at the same clock speeds pretty much across the boards in tests.
The one fatal flaw of the Exynos chip is that it was not built to be compatible with LTE nor 42mb/s+ HSPA+. It can only go up to 21mb/s HSPA+.
American carriers are busy pushing the daylights out of "4g network this and that" so they want phones that have LTE (ATT/VZW) or 42mb/s HSPA+ (T-Mobile). So the exynos chip cant be used. What irritates a lot of us chip geeks around here is that samsung is using the Crapdragon chip instead of the TI-OMAP chip (used in the galaxy nexus and droid Razr) which is a stronger chip than crapdragon and yet is still fully LTE/HSPA+ 42b/s capable.
Why do I/we make a big deal of it? Is LTE/HSPA+ great? Yea, sure, I guess. Real world benchmarks of both LTE and HSPA+ 42mb/s networks have them sitting anywhere between 10-25mb/s depending on what time of day it is. Regular HSPA+ networks run between 10-18 mb/s.. since it runs off the exact same signal as 42mb/s HSPA+.
Basically, what im getting at.. is that in the real world, data speeds between HSPA+ 42mbs and HSPA+ 21mbs are near identical for now. LTE isnt really any faster.
So you just traded a real world 25-50% performance improvement for a "hypothetical" speed improvement that you will probably never see, just so carriers can tout "LTE" and "4g". They assume (correctly) that most customers have no idea about the trade off.
Then you got to look at the battery. The exynos chip is way more power efficient than the Crap dragon chip. LTE is way more battery hungry than HSPA+.
So to go from an Exynos HSPA+ chip to a Crapdragon LTE chip is a huge difference in battery drain, which requires a much bigger battery to get the same distance per charge. The batteries are not really any bigger between the two. Guess which one gets to live on a charging cord.
You wanna know what the real kicker is?
Your phone cant handle data at that speed anyways. It has NO effect on browsing performance because the chips in the phones are not desktop class.. they dont process information fast enough for you to be able to see a difference in a page loading at 15mb/s or 30mb/s. So you really are getting ZERO benefit of the exynos to snapdragon trade off.
The ONLY benefit is if you do a lot of tethering. Then you are giving that faster connection to a PC which can actually handle the increased data speeds.
40. thephoneguy92 (Posts: 191; Member since: 29 Dec 2011)
Wow, that was quite the response. Definitely informative. I think I need to get a crash course in chips, let me know when you are free haha. Thanks for that

Go for the International Version of the Note. It´s far better...
25. taz89 (Posts: 1943; Member since: 03 May 2011)
agree totally and seems like majority of the tech world do...was going to get the nexus but seriously had a play round with it in store and it was meh,for me to upgrade from my s2 it had to be a substantial upgrade and for a phone thats suppose to lead the charge for 2012 it was very underwhelming. i like ics but thats not enough for me to drop the superior camera, removable storage especially knowing that ics is coming very soon to the s2 and if i want a stock looking ics on the s2 all i need to do is install a launcher or root. s2 is already is one of the fastest phone available even after almost a year on the market,so i cant imagine how much faster it will be with a dual core a15 or a quad a9 exynos chip with the hopefully amoled hd plus screen which is what i really want.honestly there is no phone or rumoured phone(except maybe the s3) that makes me feel like my outdated..the s2 still does things better than most new phones available and the only thing thats truly missing is a amoled hd+ screen lol dont want pentile at all, would rather have none pentile lcd screen...theres a reason why the s2 dominated the android market in 2011 and reason why it was voted by many as the best...as for the snapdragon version, yep in videos anyway they just dont seem smooth and has some lags where as the exynos variant is just the smoothest android device even with live wallpaper...try some of the live wallpapers on the nexus or other androids and it starts to lag...the good thing is that the transformer prime with ics and quad core is very smooth and lagless in the videos i have seen which only can mean good thing for phones with quad and ics.
27. henrickrw (Posts: 402; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
Agree Buddy. The Galaxy S2 continues to dominate & it will get the upgrade to ICS.
As you mentioned, I´m currently running Vertimus ICS Domination on my GS2 with lot´s of mods. Try doing this with an Iphone & give me a joke....
Tim cook is worried to death & Steve Jobs is spinning around in his coffin.
33. taz89 (Posts: 1943; Member since: 03 May 2011)
lol have the same vertumus ics godlike 2.0 theme which is super awesome and makes the wait for the real deal much much easier also i use adw launcher on top of the ics theme as it gives me the ics folder implemenation ie drag and drop on top of another and it also looks like the ics folder..give it a go mate if you already have not.
as for iphone i like had the 4 but hate the restriction as my phone before that was a 5800 symbian which was very open so the lack of removable storage, drag and drop file system, send any files via bt was a massive miss for me and waited for the right android device which was the s2 and have never been happier.

Samsung currently has to offer, has an HD resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels."
SG Note says hi.
31. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
guys chill. the SGSII is a great device no doubt... but whether remix likes it or not.. the non exynos SGSII are still part of the stats and part of Samsung... so to question which device they use for test.. is childish... second... stop with the SGSII getting ICS... please is Samsung they will do it by the end of the year... if you guys are lucky... trust me... like remix once said... it came with Gingy and don't expect anything more...
32. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
lol, i love how you paraphrase me. but please do so correctly.
what ive said 10000 times is that you should never expect an update unless otherwise directly told that you are getting an update from the manufacturer of the device.. in an official written statement. Otherwise, u should expect nothing other than bug fixes.
Good thing samsung has officially announced the SGS2 and Note are getting ICS (though they also officially announced the SGS1 was not.. jerks)
Also, its completly relevant to question which version is used for tests as internally they are not the same phone with completely different results profiles.. If the test said "iphone" and did not specify, would you not question which iphone was used for the test if the results seemed wrong? If i benchmarked an iphone2g and compared it to the Tegra3, but only called it an "iphone" so you didnt know which version of the iphone i used.. would that be ethical?
43. gallitoking (Posts: 4630; Member since: 17 May 2011)
you know damm well i dont speak geek.. so dont have a clue what you just said...
46. thephoneguy92 (Posts: 191; Member since: 29 Dec 2011)
Geek is you're slang term for English?
47. remixfa (Posts: 13902; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
if you dont speak geek, then you really need to just agree with whatever geeky nonsense i say, since my geek speak is rarely wrong. :)
OK.. how about this. if we had a pretty colorful bar graph with cars on it. we can have a ferrari sypder, a viper SRT-10, a Camero SS, a Nissan Skyline GT-R, and "Ford".
Out of all the cars listed, "ford" comes in last place. Now there is obviously more than 1 car that is a "Ford". All the other cars listed are very specific models. Wouldn't you want to know which "Ford" was tested? It could be a Ford GT, a Mustang V6, or a Pinto. They are all "Ford", but they are all different. And we really need to know which one they tested to make the comparison legit.
Replace that "ford" conundrum with "Galaxy S2" or "iphone" and you have the same issue.
