Guys Guys

The phone is sexy as hell!!!!Besides that's the international version and a 4.8 display is more than enough but I wish too they had the + for the super amoled. I knew they were going to make the design off the blueprint of the GNexus but it's better esp. in white.

The US version going to be different w/(hopefully)the quadcore Exynos processor or SDragon s4 because my E4GT is looking pretty old but still going right now and the microSD expandable to 64GB!!! Sprint better get on their grind for this one because the Evo 4g LTE is taking orders 5/7

I'm really hoping myself for the sequel of the Epic 4g Touch...

The phone isn't ugly, but it also isn't "breathtakingly beautiful" like the One X imo. If I had a choice I would go with the One X, but I'm on Verizon. And touchwiz is fugly. Also I don't know why people are complaining about the back of it, looks fine.

And could someone explain to me why Europe gets phones so much earlier than north/south America?

Because of US carriers i guess. On the other hand, Lumia 900 is first available in USA.

It´s not all phones, for the Google Nexus series it´s Europe that has to wait a lot... Only Samsung seems to launch first in Europe.

The specs are nothing special given other phones being released in the market. With all the secrecy around this phone I was hoping for something that would wow us. I guess we won't know until people get hands on if S3 is anything special or just another me too phone.

Prediction: Taco will froth at the mouth over S voice. Granted, yeah, they're throwing it on there because of Apple, but at least it sounds like they put real effort into it.

To me the greatest part is the storage capacity: 16, 32, and 64 gig versions WITH expandable storage up to 64 gigs? Most excellent choice on their part to include it. Also, it's awesome they're not screwing around with the release date this time.

I'm glad there's finally support for 64GB MicroSD cards... picked one up on a bargain and all I've been able to use it for is ReadyBoost on my desktop. Granted, I enjoy the benefits from ReadyBoost, but I wanted it for storage, not virtual RAM

I've been trying to find that out too. All I'm hearing is that it has a "plasticky" feel (engadget, gizmodo). Will update when I find something definitive

From Gizmodo: "A glossy plastic coats both the front face and flat battery cover, with a particularly attractive finish on the Pebble Blue option, making it our early favorite over the Marble White. A slightly different (but still glossy) plastic follows around the edge of the device. Thankfully, the absence of a metallic chassis does nothing to hurt the feeling of quality or solidity in the build."

What's special about this BRICK...you might as well carry a tablet with voice around if you were to buy this..Kind of close in size to the Galaxy Note series....way too big...way too similiar...It has nothing more in features than the current Nexus on Sprint and VW other than bigger in size..Samsung didn't mention hardware because their is nothing new to mention...probably dual core, snap dragon to say the least.

I was wondering if the galaxy s3 had the specs that were rumored i was gonna jump from lg's bandwagon to samsung's but the s3 is the same as optimus 4x. Am still sticking with lg. And the s voice well majel is coming and am also not a fan of voice services.
Galaxy s3 is a great smartphone but is not unique and it ain't the best.

After this announcement, it's obvious that only phone which really shocked people in 2012 (for now) is Nokia 808.
---
I have mixed feelings about SGS3 design. Guess we should first see at least some video hands-on to judge it. What i don't like is this huge 4.8" display... that's just too much for me. On the other hand, props to Samsung for including SD card slot up to 64GBs and offering 64GB internal storage version. 2100 mAh battery is nice aswell.

and as for the design. grab a pen and paper and see if you can do a better job.. seriously acting like a bunch of cry babies.

It's a matter of different taste. I'm sure most people will like to design a phone to their personal likings but who would have that kind of money. It's all personal thoughts, just look and don't give it too much thoughts.

i love samsung, but this is no way a next gen phone as they have. the iphone4s and the htc one x is more next gen than this. iphone has siri and now samsung comes with s voice? wow... ill just download skyvi on my gnote when it comes to tmobile. moreover, the htc one x already has burst mode to capture multiple shots, also at the same time record in 1080p . sorry samsung. galaxy s3= epic fail

Okay, overall i expected more.
Samsung really dropped the ball, considering their market position and all the hype.
Should've had a smaller bezel, that's number one.
And all the best rumors were axed too - no ceramic case, no wireless charging, no 12MP camera, no next-gen screen with standard matrix and white color drain fix.
The design is just too plain and dull also.
Nothing iconic about it.
And why the hell are manufacturers ditching the physical camera shutter button! ?!?!

Luckily there are some pluses that set this phone above the others - possible 128GB of storage is great, removable battery also.

So basically a galaxy nexus with an 8mp camera. You made us wait and built up the hype so much for this samsung. Very disappointed. This is more like a gs2 hd then galaxy s3.

Unless this thing gets good reviews I'm now waiting for the iphone 5 and looking forward to see what wp8 has to bring.

waitin for sony hayabusa.
And the difference between lg optimus 4x, one x and s3 are not much except for the screen, battery capacity and storage capacity.
The best screen is lg and htc's as the s3 uses pentile.
Battery capacity round goes to lg and samsung as they both have removable 2100m power batteries opposed to htc's 1800.
And the storage on the s3 is 128gb. On the 4x hd is 80gb ane one x is 25gb.

Samsung Galaxy S3 was a huge disappointment.

Pentile, thumbs down.
8mp camera, thumbs down.
Plastic back, thumbs down.
Last year's design language, thumbs down.
Only 1gb ram, thumbs down.
It's not a next gen phone whatsoever.

I never thought I say this, but the One-X is superior to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

One-X feels modern. Galaxy S3 looks like last year's tech. No reason why they held this back from CES. There is nothing ground breaking about it.

The most dissapointing things for me are the screen not consisting of a non-pentile matrix, the screen being a tiny bit too large (I just prefer 4.5-4.7), the screen not being YOUM, the proccessor benchmarks not being anything extraordinary, the camera being only a slight upgrade from the SII.

However: there hasn't been a thorough analyzation of the processor (at least not from what I've seen so far), the screen still looks amazing, the camera is still probably amazing considering the one on the SII was great and this one is even better, the software and extra features are incredible, I love the design and especially how they included blue as a color choice, their enviroment friendly aim, and the fact that we haven't seen all the phone has to offer even though it already looks stunning.

Expectations were set so high that I feel like it was inevitable for Samsung to dissapoint, yet some things such as the screen should've been better. I still believe it's the top tier android phone to date and am going to throw down my money for it =)

such a disappointing generic design after all the hoopla. just like the disappointing iphone 4S release. almost makes one think that samsung just love to trail behind apple.

Just stick to the S2 until something better designed, better thought out be issued. And now that the price will probably go on free fall.

Coming form a die-hard Samsung fanboy, this phone is a bit of a disappointment. Hardware-wise (screen, processor, ram, storage, etc.) it came out about as expected. Nothing really special or ground-breaking, but also nothing to scoff at.

It's the desing of the phone that is a huge let down. The Galaxy S 2 and Galaxy Nexus are my 2 favorite Samsung phones, mostly because they have distinct design elements that stick out and let you know it's a Samsung. They were not only great looking phones, but you could see a visible evolution from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy S2, and the Nexus S (with some Galaxy S2 design elements thrown in) to the Galaxy Nexus.
But the body of this phone looks like Samsung completely forgot about the S2 and G'Nex and instead of making this phone an evolution of the Galaxy S series, they simply made it an evolution of Verizon's (and US Cell's) verision of the Galaxy S, arguably a couple of the most plain-jane phones available.

Both Samsun's PC and HDTV lines are constantly pushing design boundaries. It's a shame their Galaxy S line has stopped this tradition.

Not at all. The AT&T variant of the GS2 is nearly an exact clone of the international phone, and even Sprint's looks almost identical, just with ever so slightly more rounded corners. The only variants of the GS2 that don't look nearly identical to the international version of the phone are T-mobile's and the Skyrocket.
no doubt it's going to be a great phone, and maybe it'll grow on me (more than likely it eventually will), but for now it just looks way to much like the Fascinate/Mesmerize for me to get too excited about it.

the ATT SGS2 is the only one that matches the international. the skyrocket, hercules and epic touch all pretty much look like that.... which pretty much looks like a enlarged version of the SGS1..

common design language.

when apple does it, its amazing, when samsung does it, its boring.. lol
