It's good that US Cellular now has the S2, however all the other networks will now be getting the S3 sometime this year. And there are a bunch of powerful droids from the other manufacturers. So.... I don't know.

Even though there is more "powerful" phones out there the galaxyS2 still stands out very well..
i think that the only phones that are considered powerfull next to the galaxy s2 when they come, are the newer quad cores and the galaxy s3 when it comes

Exactly. :p I wasn't saying the S2 is not good anymore because even with the current crop of droids S2 still ranks among the best. And by now the S2 will have price advantage over similarly spec'd new droids. However, S3 will soon be released and of course (if you have money) you'd want that over the S2. Some might also be interested in the squad of quad-cores and highly-optimized dual-cores. That's why it's good for US Cellular to have the S2, BUT would be better if they'll also have new droids around the same time other networks gets them.

I haven't found a game or app the SGSII can run that my Photon can't , as far as it has a better screen and maybe camera but that's about it.

Actually, right now there are no apps on the market that can push a dual-core to it's limits. Also, pics and vids on the S2 are already excellent. I guess what I'm saying is getting a quad-core now is just like getting a V8-powered car, you can't push it to it's limits but it's just fun to have it anyway!!! :p

Yea my issue is devs will start making quad core games and leave dual core phones out. I have games like GTA3, Shodow Gun, dead space , but nothing looks bright future wise thanks to all these quad core devices. We just started getting great graphic games and now are looking at games with graphics not designed to run on our dual core devices.

It might take some time for quad-cores to be mainstram but yeah, the future is on quad-cores. But in the next 1 or 2 years dual-cores would still be able to run most of the apps on the market so I guess getting a dual-core now is a good choice, get a quad-core in 2013. Another thing to fret about is NVIDIA's plans on supporting TEGRA only apps. Not only will it require quad-core capabilities but it will also require TEGRA chipsets. Talk about fragmentation.

Thats not true. S3 chips with their crap adreno 220 GPU get pushed really easily.

Hmmm, i don't know, still kinda turned off by the samsung brand, after the mesmerize, even after using launcherpro for the UI, still couldn't get into it, purposely went back to the desire, and now with the electrify.....couldn't be happier

there is a world of difference between the low end devices and the king of devices, the SGS2. Thats like saying my dodge stratus was crap so i will never buy a viper

This is the the exact same phone as the epic 4g touch on sprint. Only difference is it doesn't support 4g.
