Samsung Galaxy S II hits the 10 million sold mark with no help from the U.S.

0. phoneArena 25 Sep 2011, 14:25 posted on

The sizzling hot Samsung Galaxy S II has sold 10 million units world-wide one month faster than it took the original Galaxy S to hit that mark; as amazing as that sounds, the 10 million units sold in 6 months does not include the U.S. market...

Interesting fact for you, the XV 6900 on VZW had a touchscreen that required a sideways "gesture" to navigate through the home screens. Might wanna take that off the list.

That's weird, Aplenty seems to think that they added multi tasking into iOS according to their own website. Maybe you should drop Steve an email to remind him how he invented multi tasking way back in 2007.

Even tacooo knows this. All native apps multitasked on the original iPhone so it had multitasking. Once the app store was launched Apple didn't allow it on 3rd party apps. This was a choice by Apple. Multitasking had existed forever on pc so it was not a new concept.

Get it together fandroids

You are so sad. Apple even tells you that you're wrong and you just keep insisting it's us. Like I said, seek help!

wtf?? 2007 iPhone has multitasking? That's weird because today's iphone doesn't even have "proper" multitasking.

Many ios gestures where seen on prior ios devices on samsumgs defense, also nokia sued apple over gestures too even if they kept and agreement nokia had gestures patented. Sorry I don't think android is original but rather did what ios did took what it though it was useful and added their own stuff

no os is ever original...there will always be somethings that are same or similar and they are normally what consumers expect to find in there phone...

Os's add features they know average users will need that where proven on other os. Then improve them and the cycle continues is and endless circle or taking and upgrading, it's why I love copyleft agreements, everyone wins

and are you really dense to think that everything in ios is original...what gestures does ios have just wondering cause i cant find any on my iphone 4...also do you think that the iphone 4 is original...lol look at the lg prada and its front and back is all black and the sides are silver also just like iphone 4 that came out years later...the iphone is just made of different materials...point is apple also take ideas but for some reason its alright for apple to take ideas but not others to take ideas from apple...everyone copies ideas from one another and improves on that idea...thats just how things work...and when a standard is formed which is what consumers want then others will use that standards too..example apple popularized touch screen and pinch to zoom so others have been making phones with touchscreen etc...same with how ota updates and notification system have been made popularized by others, apple has taken them and put it in there os as it seen standard...see how i did not say stolen

If we argue even deeper then everyone copied, apple added features other smartphones had but we cry when other smartphones add features apple has, pretty one sided eh?

To be honest, gestures were on LG touch screen devices before the iphone came out, so apple copied LG

android uses a different subsystem for pinch to zoom. apple tried to sue for that a while ago and it didnt stick.

apple didnt invent gestures, nor kinetic scrolling. making it popular doesnt make it invented.

and BTW, android uses hundreds more gestures than apple. most any that have been added by apple recently are "borrowed" from android. get your facts straight.

Look at it this way Fanboys, more toyotas are sold than BMWs. If you're still scratching your head, look at how many models toyota have compared to BMW. Alot! Which is also cheaper, toyota! With this in mind, I assume this is why Samsung Galaxy is doing well. And that goes the same for Android.
Anyway side note: you don't hear people rushing to sell their kidneys or whatever to get a Samsung product. Some desire products based on quality and not quantity.
