there's something about these Samsung devices that's fishy...the Amaze uses a very similar processor and it doesn't get scores anywhere near that. from now on i'll be taking these Samsung Quadrant Scores with a grain of salt.

I agreed with you until I saw a video of some Samsung phone that only had a 1.4ghz SINGLE core processor. The web browser experience seemed a lot smoother and more responsive than even some dual core phones. It could handle flash without barely any stutter or lag. It seems like either Samsung actually uses a different web browser on their new touchwiz devices or touchwiz itself has become so light that the device doesnt struggle to keep up like in other UIs.

thats a hummingbird chipset with the EXT4 lagfix running at 1.4ghz. For most operations its as fast or faster than a dual core snapdragon at 1-1.2ghz. I know.. thats what I use :)

Thats a hella quadrant, but I dont believe it . A snapdragon at 1.2ghz gets 2200, a snapdragon at 1.5ghz gets 3700?? If it got 2400-2500 i could believe it.

obviously theres more going on under the hood than just 0.3ghz more and a lil extra ram. Ill play with the store demo when i go back in a day.

hey remixfa I guess the initial score is even higher(the one at the beginning of the video).....its 3841......I never got that with my 1.2 GHz exynos......
Is it the snapdragon S3 in there?

You have to remember that all those other phones use sense and sense is a very heavy ui and uses a lot of RAM.

sense isnt going to make THAT much of a difference. if you wanna give it 100 points for sence, go for it. Its not like all those animations and everything are running in the background while your playing a game. When I benched the store Sensation, i made sure everything that i could turn off.. was turned off.. and i still beat it with my SGS1 at same clock speed. Also, the galaxy is running Touchwiz 4.0. While not as animated as Sense, it isnt stock either.

No, there is some trickery going on here. a 0.3ghz difference in clock speed doesnt do 1/5th of that difference in score.

I shall investigate next time Im at work.

It could be the gpu because the amaze uses the adreno gpu while the samsung phones don't use adreno and use a totally different one (I forget the name though)

Let's wait on real world reports. When the Atrix came out, it was getting higher benchmarks than anything else at the time, but in reality it blowed.

While us "exynos fanboys" can enjoy our super smooth and fast processor on full stock without any work to be done.
