Samsung Galaxy S 4 shares PowerVR GPU with the Apple iPhone 5
0. phoneArena posted on 13 Mar 2013, 21:41
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be introduced on Thursday and will immediately become the main challenger to the Apple iPhone 5, and while there are obviously fans of each phone, there is one thing in common that they might share; according to Imagination's own blog, the GPU in the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will be the PowerVR SGX544 while the Apple iPhone 5 contains the PowerVR SGX 543MP3...

C'mon dude you're putting a little too much mustard on it bro. Apple needs to step it up, but they're far from dead. Even with a 30+% drop in stock they're still the #2 most valuable company on earth. Hate em, but hate em realistically. Also according to the latest stock reports APPL still exists IJS.

What's with all the negative thumbs down to your comment? It seems that an army of brain dead android lovin' whores are running to the rescue each time you post a statement based on reality. Apple probably has enough reserve cash in the bank to purchase Google, Samsung, or both. A dead company is one without access or ownership of capital, or didn't you worthless Android peasants figure that out yet?
27. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 13 Mar 2013, 23:28 5 1
bro i get what you're saying with apple having more money than most people, but once again, just because you have enough money to buy something does NOT mean you can jus go ahead and buy someone or something off.
Since we're being "realistic" here, i'll say that you and anyone else who thinks apple can just "buy google" off, are complete fools...
I, without a doubt, dont believe the desparation is that high for such a act
29. UrbanPhantom posted on 14 Mar 2013, 01:52 4 1
Apple has more than just a little money: it's reserve cash exceeds the annual GDP of many countries. Throw enough money around, and you can buy virtually anything: companies, land, even people. That isn't to say they should be allowed to purchase Google and/or Samsung, nor would it be wise to let them do so. I believe competition is essential, and good for consumers. It is the primary catalyst of technological inspiration, and innovation...
Still, to refer to any company with that much wealth as being "dead", or ineffectual in any capacity, is to utter words that are far too ignorant to be ignored. I don't care if these folks love their operating system, or a particular corporate brand, they deserved to be kicked hard between the legs for making statements that are simply not in keeping with an intelligent and thoughtful frame of mind.
If PhoneArena wants to keep mindless hoodlums around, then so be it. Stupid is as stupid does, and god almighty, some of yea are stupid as bricks...

That's the hardcore bunch I guess. Your 3 reds probably came from them too. I'm just being realistic though, dudes saying apple is dead, they no longer exist. If that's true, then I'm pissed to hell and back that I missed their going outta business sale. We're slashing prices from wall to wall, no reasonable offer will be turned down lol.

The day the iPhone 5 launched AAPL closed at $705.07. Today they closed at $428.35 That's a 40% loss there. They may not be dead yet, but are headed that way pretty fast. 40% in six months says investors no longer have faith in the product. They are not the number two most valuable company on earth. Apple ranks 18th worldwide in terms of revenue. Exxon Mobil was first, followed by Royal Dutch Shell, then Wal-Mart was third. People confuse stock value for actual monetary worth all the time. If you don't believe me, read it for yourself.

I was refering strictly to Apple's cash, not it's present stock value, compende? They had over 137 billion in cash stored up for a rainy day. I'm not refering to the PPS, which is something else entirely...
They should give me at least half of that for defending them online ;o)

Obviously you did not read that link. Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, and Wal-Mart all pulled in over $400 billion in net revenue last year. Apple pulled $156 billion, a lot of that has probably been paid out in the past six months to investors abandoning ship. Apple is bleeding money right now. They are a midrange company. They always have been if you follow annual revenue reports.

And what you will say if iPhone 5S or even iPhone 6 will come with the same PowerVR SGX543 which is already on iPhone 5?
10. HDShatter posted on 13 Mar 2013, 21:59 2 2
If there is one thing Apple does right it is using powerful GPUs. This GPU is no sloch againist other flagships.

Apple does one thing that they've capitalized on, optimizing the hardware to the software. If Samsung does the same with the S4, the average and even power user won't notice any problems in graphics or speed. Judging by how well the Note 2 runs, I think they've figured it out.

"Lol @ last years graphics on a 2013 flagship phone."
iPhone 5 use SGX543 (Jan 2009)
Samsung Galaxy S IV use SGX544 (Jun 2010)
So what you will say now about last years graphics?

i can remember Samsung bragging about the S3 beating the iPad 3 last year , so vice versa
15. ama3654 posted on 13 Mar 2013, 22:24 8 3
SGX543(January 2009), SGX544(June 2010), SGX554(December 2010). What's your point?, read before you come here to troll. Samsung Galaxy S IV will be unveiled in hours to shine. SGX544 is clocked at 533 MHz, twice the speed of the OLD SGX543 on the iphone 5, combine that with the A15 cores and you get the speed of the ipad 4 on a Smartphone.

Can't we learn to discuss our preferences without annoying each other???
